Great cooker but large burner wont stay on ...
Bought this cooker for quality ....it was bought 4yrs ago but was in storage for 14 months ....now we have to get a repair man out as warranty is out of date ....I am sure it is a minor repair .....but charges are pretty high ....yes we should have got an extended warranty ....but we thought Smeg would be a quality product .

Large oven
Oven purchased October 2012, within a few months I noticed a lot of hot air was escaping from the door. It was still under warranty so had it serviced to replace one of the door hinges as door wasn't a tight shut. Then more recently my sister purchased a smeg and I noticed how strong the close was on her oven door. As the oven was now out of warranty we had to pay for replacement of the second hinge. Now I notice how much quicker the oven heats and I don't have to have it set above 200 degrees C. Quite disappointed as I thought smeg was a better quality product, and this was why I purchased. You can't always rely on a 'quality' brand name.

Glass shattered when we opened door
My parents brought us this six months ago, it was delivered to their house (which we have just brought from them) via Harvey Norman, it has been in storage until a couple of months ago when my son in law and a mate carried it upstairs into the kitchen. The kitchen is waiting to be renovated, the oven hasn't even been used yet. Partner opened oven door to checkout the inside, closed the door and the front glass on the door shattered. omeone from Smeg would be in touch. We moved into the house this week, seven kids and nowhere to cook. very disappointed! When looking for the receipt, the note on it says 'sold to customer of the floor, with large dent on the lower back, won't affect use' maybe whatever caused the dent, also caused a weak spot, I'm no expert but I hope Smeg and Harvey Norman come to some agreement.3 comments

Hi we have a Smeg c91gmx ..the left front burner lights but won't stay on when button released .....would this be a big job ...as we built the kitchen around the cooker as in kick board on front and raising the cooker as our cabinets are 1 mt high not 900 cheers Kevin

Sounds like it could be an issue with the thermocouple which needs to be adjusted or replaced and isn't a major job.
