Very disappointing!!!

published

I'm disappointed in this slow cooker. It boils on both low and high settings and the result is dry lamb, dry pork and the one time i cooked beef it ended up burning it!!! I bought a cheaper, smaller one from Aldi and it is ace just not large enough.

Purchased in May 2021 at Harris Scarfe Physical Stores.

The metal exploded on the first use

published

Around 2 hours into the first ever use of my slowcooker I heard a loud pop and upon investigation found a hole in the metal and metal shards sprayed all over the base of the pot (see photos). I called smith and nobel and they weren't at all concerned and said I can take it back to where it was purchased from for a replacement. I was given this as a housewarming gift, so I can't return it as I don't have a receipt, but I was not impressed by how little smith and nobel seemed to care that their slow cooker had exploded

Purchased in May 2021.

Great product

published

Love this slow cooker, I’ve made everything from roasts to stews to risottos to soups to desserts (FYI the risottos and desserts are generally better on the stove/oven). I’m really happy with it, the only improvement area would be the outer case is hard to clean.

Purchased in May 2021 at Harris Scarfe for A$40.00.

Boils even on low

published

This crockpot boils everything, even on low, surely it's supposed to cook slowly over the 8 hours and not boil the goodness out of the vegetables. I'm so disappointed after paying good money for it, money down the drain. I will be going back to my old one which is 15 years old and cooks slowly like they are supposed to. Wont be buying this brand again.

Great slow cooker

Great slow cooker. Does exactly what you need it to do. High/low and 'keep warm' setting. Easy to wash. Not too heavy. I've made lots of yummy dinners in it.

The recipes I've used say set it on high and cook for six hours but if my slow cooker is set on high boils the meat hence a dry result

Hi Kaz, i have heard unfortunately a number of years ago, the manufacturers of slow cookers raised the operating temperatures (due to concerns of food not being cooked properly). The result is they even boil on low. I found this out when i replaced my old one with the model you have. I'm afraid my only suggestion is to have it cook on low and have it as full as possible.
