We are very happy with the vehicle, no longer any agent in Kalgoorlie/Boulder, we use Panuccio Autos in Bunbury. They specialise in Ssangyong service and repairs, are very help full and friendly. No problems apart from the motor racing. Have had it checked out, nothing on the computer. May try a transmission cooler.
I have a 2x4 musso auto 2005, 68000kms, very happy, no complaints, towing 1700kg poptop. Would buy another, when this one wears out.
Only when towing van, motor will race from 2500rmp to 3500rmp for a short time then drop back, does not appear to drop a gear.(even in Power Mode) Any ideas?

Good car, would be happy to have another but am concerned about the poor resale value. Best to keep it me thinks. Would be interested to hear from anyone that has done 150 plus klms to hear their experiences.
affordable, economical and has enough power to do the job. I tow a large boat beautifully along the highway and with only minimum loss of power up hills. Heaps of leg room in back which is one reason I bought it. Have a good dealer in Canberra so any small probs have been rectified. Biggest prob after 62,000kms has been to replace link in throttle cable and a component in drivers side electric window.
so far so good. sounds like some people have got lemons and thats unfortunate because this is really a great vehicle.

    Have a '06 Musso.
No troubles at all, ran with no sweat for 3 months with a 1.8 caravan behind it along the murray.
Comes up Mt Victoria NSW no worries, hits the top at 40kph
No trouble with the brakes, maybe a mechanic change?

overall the musso is a good 4wd with a few problems that could quite easily be fixed if the service people got their act together
I own the musso sports ute. It's a good 4wd for the price. On the sand it will go anywhere, in the bush you have to be more careful because of the height, but a bigger set of springs & tyres help
just a couple of things, the glow plugs don't come on before you start the motor 2/ sometimes the engine will not shut down straight away. The last thing is the front hubs will not engage. The dealer in brisbane wants $125 per hour just to look at it before he lifts a spanner. So if anyone knows how to fix the problem with the hubs please let me know

I find it very simmular to a pathfinder i used to own, great to drive and certainly alot cheaper to run, mine is white and has very dark tinted windows and s/steel roll bar, it sure gets a lot of looks when its out on the road, very smart
I have had my Musso sports now for three weeks, and have done 2500km, so far it has been great, no problems, and with 8.3lt per hundred km it makes it very cheap to run,
There is a lack of power down low but i am getting used to it, you just have to ajust your driving style a bit, i will look at fitting some hiclones later, and maybe exhurst mods to

The vehicle exceeds my expectations as I was told by other dealerships not to even look at one let alone purchase one. My how wrong they are; maybe they know how good they really are. I would have no hesitation in recomending the Musso.
being a former owner of mercedes benz cars I may be a little biased. I find that the vehicleis very comfortable to ride in, we don't hesitate to travel up to six hours at a time. The leg room in the back is very good. It has excellent economy, and good road holding ability when you compare the Musso to other ATVs.
Strangely enough the clock seems to decide when it is time to change. The dust seal around the tailgate is non existant.

Great car, great economy, great to drive,i am soon to buy another one for my other business.
First time ute, former Pajero driver, diesel power plenty and at 16000kms in few months and is improving all the time economy as well, the car is very stable in wet and wind, smooth drive very quiet, good in 4 wd.Comfortable drive on long drives leg room in rear great, and good seating posi, tray is good for chuck it in the back stuff,
minor set back is that in 4x4 drags 2 wheels on tight bends if used on road, sang yong offer no solution apart from to say that its normal. (my pajero didnt do this) does anyone elses 4x4 do it.Thats the only bad thing clock is ok no other dramas

I Love my Musso Sports. I have had it for 12 months and done 35,000klms. I have towed two horses many times and it does it with ease. I bought the vehicle from Essendon but have since had great dealings with Kilmore Ssangyong, they have been so helpful.

Should mantain the outside looking and install a TV / DVD screen in the pannel and keep the metalic green color.
Is a very smooth car. Confortable, good space at the back seat. The engine is Mercedez (simple and powerfull).
The new model (action) does not have the same attraction as the 2004. The radical change in its apperance made Musso loose.

Overall it appears to be good value for money in the 4x4 class.I have spoken to a fellow with a Rexton who previously owned a Musso for 8 years He mentioned also the service was terrible and he used to take the Musso to a Merc Dealership as they were the only ones with a clue. We have some concerns with the resale value. Have searched dealers and web prices very low for second hand.
We bought sports approx 10months ago done 20000ks tight at first however getting better like the way it drives and rides
Service and parts are a problem my wife had a rear end accident and the car was off the road waiting for parts insurance suggested Ssangyong should have replaced with new one so I called and they did not want to know. My problem.

The more I drive my new 'Moose'(only 500 klms) the more I like it. I was a bit harsh in my assesment (3) first review and then by mistake gave a 2 instead of a (4) in my last comment. I was trying to get an average of 3.5. Thanks to input from Bill I can give it a 5 (in anticipation) this time around.
For Bill Pritchard. Thanks Mate. I'll look into your mods immediately. Things are going from good to great!
Not anything that can't be addressed.

How easy to replace glow plugs on 2005 2.9 turbo musso sports

Am sorry but I am not really sure I am not a mechanical professional. In addition my SsangYong Musso is only a couple of month old hens has not required any spark plugs. I did have spark plugs changed on the SsangYong Korando but I took it into the workshop as it was too complex to remove peripherals to get the spark plugs out. It was not too expensive and I think I paid about $280 all up.
Sorry I couldn't be of any further assistance.
