Shiny aircon outlets on dashboard, reflect into rear-view mirrors creating glare. Constant false alarms with lane keeping & auto braking. Offside interior trim prevented foot coming off accelerator. Radio settings disappear without human intervention. Salesman couldn't tie cellphone into vehicle's Bluetooth. Auto engine stop when at traffic lights etc would drive anyone mad. We were happy with our old 2010 Forester. But somebody smashed it resulting in write off early in 2016. So we had urgently to replace. Insurance (RACQI) gave us a a good payout. Hoped to buy a slightly used model but they were almost as expensive as a new one. We managed to order one to be delivered off the boat, a fresh 2016 2.5Si. We had to accept the CVT transmission as our other must haves of leather, sun roof and max safety gear were only available in this model.

We loved our first Forester purchase in 2010 - reliable, spacious, an all round legendary car! So much so we purchased a second Forester in 2014 however, this one has not been so great. A recent 'oil leak' was detected by our own mechanic (after we became sick and tired of dealing with the dealership service program) - took it straight back to the dealer (thankfully our mechanic knew someone who worked there) and had this checked out.

This is my second Forester (both purchased new). Its nice and easy to drive and I love the "seeing eye" cruise control on the highway, it made it so easy to follow a vehicle whos speed I was comfortable with. The CVT transmission system is a bit slow when first taking off but it performs way better than my old automatic did on steep hills. It has lots of bells and whistles (some I have never used) and so far I am very happy with the driving experience.

To begin with, the high ride seating position is brilliant. If you are looking for an SUV with excellent ground clearance and one of the best all round visibility from the driver's seat, then look no further. Provides the best high ride seating position. Especially i personally enjoy seeing the bonnet and lots of forward visibility from driver seat.

The Forester never ceases to please when I take it for a drive. I've had many cars in my 50 years + of driving but none can compare to the pleasure this car gives me. Where do i start but at the beginning with the electric seats, activated by the keyless fobs allowing the big disparity between my wife's size 156cm and mine 196cm to be taken care of by the preset settings. Yes by the time we reach the drivers door I can say "not so squeasy" slip in and away we go.

Handling is brillant, Power / Performance is outstanding. Dashboard is easy to understand. Eye sight technology & its strong frame is a big plus for our growing family, who want safety first. Eye sight tech watch the road for you, so it will alert you for driving out of the line / obstacles in the front. It will slow or almost stop the car for you if you are approaching a car/ a person / some obstacles in a unreasonable speed ( say the car in the front suddenly slow down or stop and you didn't, it will brake for you.

Driving experience is outstanding for the money. Interior is extremely comfortable and tech heavy with 3 led screens of information. For the price offers every convenience including proximity entrance and convenience. The CVT is quiet until pushed, actually behaves like a regular auto and has good acceleration for the 2.5l.
