Best sandwich toaster I've used

published

Fast cooking, easy to clean. Really is cafe-style results. 1 Ridged plate & 1 flat plate. Shiny chrome. Looks good on bench-top. Good size, not too big & not too small. Can cook 4 sandwiches at once (not using jumbo bread). Has a quality look & feel when a lot of other sandwich machines are cheap looking & difficult to clean. I recommend this appliance.

The quality is just not there

Sunbeam Café grill GR8210
his worked well since it was bought in December 2010, but has suddenly stopped working. The power doesn’t seem to get through to it as it doesn’t heart up and the light does not come on.

It should last longer than 4 years and is most annoying. We have had a failure with another Sunbeam product (coffee maker) and will steer clear of the brand in future. The quality is below par.

I chose the Sunbeam GR8210 1800w Compact Cafe Grill after reading poor reviews of similar Breville models that apparently burnt the bread before heating the sandwich through, possibly due to their higher 2000w rating

I cant fault this appliance for quick, easy, tasty, non-stick sandwiches. Its classy looking, relatively inexpensive at $43.50 and very easy to clean

I purchased this product just before Christmas 2014 and I love it. Toasts brilliantly and since I broke my arm three weeks ago I've had lots of toasted sandwiches with salad for dinner. Would recommend to anyone wanting to buy one.

Very good.

bought it to make toasted sandwiches - which it does well and very quickly (although you are better off toasting two at a time as the singles tend to get a little squashed) just cooked a rump steak with it about 15 mins ago and it come out that good I had to let everyone know about... seriously 15 years of steak-in-pan experience and I get outdone by a $39 dollar toastie machine....
very fast, easy to clean, portable and shiny
pretty sure this thing uses a hell of a lot of power. not ideal for single toasties, although they still come out ok

I love this machine. It is easy to use, heats up quickly and browns the bread which I love. Easy to lean as no cracks and crevaces. The grill on top leaves great grill marks and the flat bottom also browns nicely. Havent tried grilling anything else on the bottom plate, but I suspect it would work quite well. I have found the levelling of the sandwiches good so far, but in fairness havent tried a really fat sandwich yet. Is compact and easy to clean and put away. Definately would recommend this product.
Easy to use, no complicated buttons or controls - not even an on/off switch. Just plug it in, turn on powerpoint and off you go.
Nothing so far.

Love this sandwich press, makes great toasties without squashing it into an unrecognisable flat meal. Whether you are cooking sandwiches, steak or chicken, it will never stick to the surface. And with the teflon coating all you need to do is a quick wipe with a cloth and its clean and ready to use again. Its stylish finish makes it the perfect appliance to the modern kitchen and with heating in only minutes you'll never have to wait long for a tasty meal or snack.
nice even heat over the grill, easy to use, easy to clean
As with all chrome finishes, fingerprints and dust shows easily

This grill is the best one I have ever used. It heats up quickly, toasts the bread well and quickly, and is really easy to clean.
This grill is wonderful. The best part is that it is really easy to clean and toasts really well. It heats up faster than a lot of the other grills on the market. I have had mine for a few years now, and it is still perfect. As long as you do not use a knife to remove the sandwiches, it will stay perfect. I use a plastic egg flip and this works really well.
None - it is a great sandwich maker

I got this griller as a present and i don't really think it's the best thing. When i use normal bread it squashes it heaps and i end up with a flat sandwich before it gets nicely toasted. It can be packed away flat which is great. The ribbed grooves on the top add a nice cafe effect to the sandwhiches which is nice.
Basic and pretty easy to use. The red and green lights on the top of the griller give an accurate indication as to when the grill is hot enough.
The hot plates can get scratched easily if you try to get the sandwhiches out with a knife.

I very very rarely eat steak. My favourite cut is the second most expensive fillet. I prefer a fairly thick steak, up to 2cm uncooked. I only need to be able to cook one steak as I fly solo. Some hints would be good. From the reviews it sounds great.

thank you Kanya I should have done that but ended up throwing it out buying another brand which still smelt I then washed and turned it on and off for almost 6 hours in a vented space and finally the toxic smell went apparently it has to burn of the chemicals used on it.
