Great slow cooker for a good price
I have used this slow cooker many times to cook up some great dishes, and it really does a good job of doing so. My partner loves how easy it is to set it up and throw the ingredients in and then let it go until dinner time. At the price you pay for it, I would highly recommend anyone to pick it up if they are in the market for a slow cooker.

Good value for money slow cooker
Purchased this from The Good Guys for $49. Only used it a couple of times to make lamb shanks, and on both occasions, the meat was well cooked and fell straight off the bone. I like the simple to use dial consisting of just 3 heat settings. I actually prefer this over useless features that I might never actually use. It's a well made product and I just need to find more time to make more use of it!

I love this slow cooker!
I've used this almost everyday since purchase, it is easy to use and clean. Most importantly it produces great results. I use it for lamb, chicken, beef and vegetables. It never over cooks meat and nothing has ever been dry. It is a great product and I would highly recommend it.

Sunbeam Slow Cooker - Great.
Great cooker for the winters months, come home from work to your meal already cooked. !! Easy to prepare food just a matter of putting everything in and letting it cook. With a child that struggles chewing this cooker is great due to the meat not being as chewy. Lots of different sauces in most supermarkets.

Dangerous and energy inefficient.
Purchased the Sunbeam 5520 used it once and now will return it. Used it once on low 7 hours. The lamb shanks cooked, but the carrots and potatoes (chopped in to cubes did not cook on the upper surface, the lid does not seal and I agree with others that the heat loss is major making it an energy inefficient item. Outside metal was surface was extremely hot making it a very dangerous appliance to use especially with older and younger people.

Good price for a slow cooker
I recently purchased this slow cooker from The Good Guys as it was on special for $35.
We cooked a chicken casserole in the slow cooker on the weekend. We left it in there for 4 hours on high heat. The chicken was nice and tender as well as the vegetables. We wanted something that we could throw all the ingredients in and not have to watch over it and this worked perfectly for us.
Didn't have any problems with how everything worked. However please note that the outside gets quite hot to touch. If you don't want to damage your bench top i would suggest putting it on coasters.
For the price we paid we would highly recommend this slow cooker. It is a no frills device and does what a slow cooker should do.

My new best friend!
Who doesn't love a slow cooker? The Sunbeam is really easy to use, it doesn't take forever to clean up even when you get honey dried and stuck all over the ceramic plate. It holds enough for four people and even more depending on what you are cooking. I would recommend this product.

Bought a lemon
I've never had a slow cooker before so didn't know what to expect. After searing the meat in the stove top and sauteing all the vegetables, I transferred my casserole to the slow cooker and set it on high to bring the temp up, thinking I would then turn it to low and cook for the remaining 7hrs. After three hours, I could still dip my finger in so it was only just warm. The outside of the device was too hot to touch though. On reading the accompanying booklet, it states that the slow cooker would simmer on all settings. I definitely did not have a simmer, so put the casserole in the oven and returned the unit. I may have just bought a faulty one.

Most Important: Is the Ceramic Coating Lead and Cadmium FREE in the Sunbeam Slow Cookers?
Slow Cooking can be Healthier for us (the Celsius being lower than a Gas Stove) but it becomes TOXIC when Lead and/or Cadmium are used in the glaze that coats the Ceramic Bowl OR Nasty Tephlon is used. Stainless Steel would be great - it's Good to have Options.
In the interest of Good Information Practices and Good Health, companies should always state on the package and advertisements if Ceramic Bowls, Oven Dishes, Cups and Plates are Lead and Cadmium FREE. This is a must in manufacture and buying practice for consumers. I have Oven Casserole Ceramic Dishes from a company overseas that openly state this Vital Info on the products. (Researcher 20+ Yrs)

I do not know. At the same time I am old enough for it to be irrelevant.
Customer C.Sunbeam
Hi Janetau. All of Sunbeam's slow cooker inserts meet the necessary requirements.
@Customer C. That is fine for you to just say that, though it needs to be backed up with verifiable test reports supplied to the customer. I asked for the documented test reports and was told they aren't available.
