Happy
Nice little car. I bought this because of the affordability factor. I was buying a house at the same time hence did not want to spend too much on the car. Swift was recommended by a friend of mine and we are still friends!
It is a fun to drive car, very easy on petrol and spacious enough for a small family of 4 including kids. We take it for shopping, to drive to the city, to country side as fun trip, to dandy ranges, picnics and what not. Very good visibility around and the shape of it makes it easier to understand the dimensions for easy parking. It has only been a few months so cannot comment on the service factor yet.

Update August 2017: Average Fuel efficiency: 19.1 km/litre!
Car is in pretty good nick. Service and pricing has been reasonable. No complaints/breakdowns.
Update August 2018: Regular servicing. Going well.

So much for fixed price service
Car is five star but service is nil - they did nothing and by that I mean I believe they only changed the sticker and washed the car. The dealer in Southern sydney admitted they didn't change the fuel filter (oil is brown so believe they did not change this either) and did the service again, but did not adjust the handbrake or brakes in the second service. Still waiting for the refund cheque. How can you trust them.

Impressed, Bought a Second!
Our first 2007 Swift auto ran for 70,000 before my daughter stole it. She still drives it and loves it. Apart from services I only replaced tyres and windscreen wipers. It took us comfortably from Brisbane to Darwin and to Canberra. My independent mechanic was also impressed and recommended I buy another.I looked at similar small cars but most lacked the features and finesse of the Swift. Our current Swift is a 2011 automatic model with 7 air bags, key-less entry and push button start. My wife never takes her key out of her handbag. The power b...Read more
utton on the auto gear stick is fun to use.I have fitted a wireless reversing camera for $70, and cruise control to make highway travel easier. The latest top models have these features plus a five year warranty.I would definitely buy another when the second child steals this one. Roger1 comment

pretty good run from them. I have now fitted more Turanza Bridgestones. The original battery is still going fine and so are all the instruments, lights and engine. I was thinking of replacing it with a new Swift but this one is going so well, I can't fault it and it is cheaper to maintain than buy a new one. RogerSimilar opinion? Great small car!
Bought a swift for the wife to go to and from work, turned out to be a great little car that's cheap to run, easy to park reliable and I often use it myself to go to work now, great on the fuel. Doesn't come with cruise control, which is a bit of a letdown, but going long trips isnt what they are designed for anyway. No regrets here, no mechanical issues either.

Great car for price range
My husband and I were looking for a small car without the cheap and nasty, hard plastic feel of many small cars. The swift was by far the nicest for it's price bracket. The interior is comparable to more expensive cars such as the Golf and Clio.
We bought the Swift with built in GPS which is awesome (much better than the GPS in my stepmom's Subaru). I also love that I have stereo and cruise control buttons on the steering wheel.
The car handles great (as you expect from a little car) and is more powerful than I was expecting. We got the ...Read more
automatic 4 speed (when using overdrive). I would have liked a 5th gear but having said that, it runs just fine at 80-100kph. We considered the sport with CVT transmission but it was more expensive and we didn't like the dash display as much. Servicing is fairly cheap too (ours is fixed price for the first 3 years) The boot while small, is practical. It has a removable tray which gives you two different depth choices. With the tray in the boot floor is level with the seats folded down, which is handy for moving big boxes etc. All in all, a great car for the price.Similar opinion? Suzuki Swift GPS
I have owned 3 Suzuki Swift in the past eight years. My current car is a 2014 Swift Sport Navi (comes with in dash GPS) Car is 10/10 I love it. Having said that it came with an in dash GPS (Garmin) The navigator has problems ( i get round this by using my portable Tom Tom all good) The in dash Garmin works ok however at one year old the screen alerts you to update maps. Now this is where the nightmare starts. You ring Garmin they say ring Suzuki who in turn say its up to Garmin to get it right. Suzuki dealer at service do not want to know about...Read more
it. Anyways three people trying to download Garmin maps over six months and paying Garmin $52 for the download I had to pressure Garmin for a refund. The process is totally NOT user friendly. After all that and a further e mail to Suzuki they contacted me to inform me that they are "moving away" from the current in car GPS system. The car is a joy however the Garmin device that comes with it has convoluted problems. PatrickSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love My Swift!
This Swift was my first car & I don't think I will ever change. The Swifts come in amazing colours so it was hard to choose but black looked gorgeous. Love all the extras that you get especially at a cheap price when you purchase the car brand new. A full fuel tank usually cost around $45-50 & lasts me a week & a half to two weeks (I don't drive much). Alot of people under-estimate a Swifts speed when they try to race and over take me but let me tell you, you would be surprised because they never win haha. Even though black swifts are amazing, ...Read more
they get dirty very easily (like all black cars) so my weekends are usually spent on cleaning & waxing my Swift. Overall, Swifts are easy maintenance, cheap to insure, the genuine parts are very cheap & easy to install, easy to park & smooth to drive... Love my Swift!! :)Similar opinion? LOve My Little Swift
I purchased my car brand new. It is the best car on fuel economy and handling and so cheap to insure. We added some extras to give it a sporty look and it never fails to turn heads. The only let down is the boot space is very small and can hardly fit a stroller in it so not really recommended for mums and babies. We liked the swift so much we encouraged our daughter to buy one too and she loves her just as much.

LOVE this car!
I love this car! I have owned a few different hatchbacks and this is by far the best.
I have a manual, and with other cars I test drove before buying this one the gears felt kind of wimpy - if you know what I mean - but the gears on this felt really solid and responsive.
The fuel economy is also really good and the car itself is suprisingly roomy. I have had a car full of people before, including a couple of burly characters and we haven't been squishy. I even used it to pick up a 42" TV still in the box from the shop. The guy in the loading bay told me I wouldn't fit it in. Should have seen his face when I did!

Stylish car!
Purchased new suzuki swift sport auto this year and love it! was tossing up between swift sport or honda jazz but when i test drived the jazz it felt sluggish!
swift sport had better handling and i liked the fact it was built in japan unlike the jazz which is made in thailand.
Turns heads everywhere i go, got it in bright yellow.
great standard features -
17inch allow wheels/push button start/cruise control/
bluetooth/navigator!
and the sport seats are super comfy!

Driver's seat
No, not just you. The car is almost the complete the package in the light class, 100kw and zippy. But, with one omission which should be noted. It needs driver lumbar adjustment. Unfrtunately, this is unlikely to happen, as Suzuki do not fit this to their cars, disappointing. Am still hoping Suzuki will make it happen, could be dreaming.

Great car the best ever
I purchased my swift in 2013 from a dealer its a 2011, automatic GL
Choose this car as they are everywhere and super cute, and when looking them up it is hard to find a bad word said about them which is always a good sign!
I previously owned a Ford Focus Zetec (WORST CAR EVER- money Pitt, always broke down which made me scared that every car would break down and I did my research and choose this over a holden cruise as they have very bad reviews and have been recalled onany occasions!
My swift has never let me down!
Cheap on fuel (40-45$ to fill in premium) lasts me over a week and about 500km
service is so good never any problems, $150-250 depending on major or minor

Followup Review - 10,000klm
This is a follow-up review of my 2013 Suzuki Swift that now has just turned over 10,000 kilometres.
I bought this car for commuting duties and for that task, it does a great job. My daily commute is approximately 35klm each way over speed zones that go from 40kph up to 90kph. The morning commute is quite early so I drive in smooth moving traffic and have very few stops but the evening commute is a typical Sydney nightmare. The morning drive takes me about 45 minutes and the evening drive can take up to 90 minutes - horrible, so I needed a car ...Read more

Bad carpet
I have had my car for 9 months and there is a hole in the carpet where I break, my breaks make a springy noise and feel, I have to lock then unlock my car to get the boot to shut. Think I have a lemon.

Couldn't be happier
Before purchasing my brand new Suzuki Swift GLX in June 2014 I researched and test drove almost every other comparable car on the market. For me the 4 speed transmission made for a much smoother drive over all the other cars with CVT or DCT.
I ended up sacrificing boot space for the Swift as I love it's look, design and the way it runs/drives.
I have had no issue with my car so far and am so far getting around 600kms to a tank although this is going up as the car is wearing in.
I am so happy with my decision to buy a swift and wouldn't hesi...Read more

Love My Suzuki
I absolutely love my little Suzuki, its so economical, I forget to look at the petrol guage. Its roomy inside, has plenty of head hight, really good vision for driving. I am mostly driving around in the car by myself and occassionally have my big teenagers in it too. Its zippy, easy to park and smooth to drive, quiet. Love that it has 4 cup holders, The dash looks good. This car has been so reliable, never missed a beat, drives like a dream. My hubby has a flash european car, but my seats are more comfortable, and the kids comment on that a...Read more

Successor to the brilliant BMW 2002
After 21,000 km in 10 months -- the motor is just about run in now. Faster than the fuel-injected BMW 2002tii and has even better roadholding. Just half a second slower than an E-type Jag to 80kmh. The brakes are astonishingly powerful. Instruments say 5.2l/100km, but the bowser says 5.8. Stlll very good economy. Xenon headlights are very good at slower speeds, but the car needs spotlights for better long-distance illumination. If it had hydraulic power steering like the Mazda6, it would be perfect. The electric assistance is OK in the corners,...Read more

Awesome
Suzuki Swift bought as a demo, last of the Japanese built Swifts. Now done nearly 20k with absolutely no problems! Run it on 98 octane which it thrives on! Capped price servicing and a 5 year suzuki factory warranty makes for great value for money motoring!! Highly recommended to anyone needing a quality small hatchback for commuting to work or second car.
Electric power steering is awesome
Would like 4 wheel disc brakes

Happy with my little red car
I bought my Swift in 2012. In the beginning there were a few times that the car wouldnt start due to battery problem. At one time I called AHG Road Assist I waited for 45 mins, the 2nd time I called RAC it came in 25 mins or so. I have used RAC ever since. After changing the battery by RAC, the car is fine so far. I did notice there was some loud noise when accelerating but dealer and some friends said its normal. One thing, when I turned on the indicator to turn left/right, after the turn finished, the indicator would still stay on. I needed to turn it off automatically. I found it a bit strange. But overall, I still love my little car.
Easy to drive and park
Can be bullied by 4WD and bigger cars (ie changing lanes)

Hi all, a few things regarding the 2012 suzuki swift 5 door automatic hatchback. In the last year or so when starting my car it idles which is understandable however when in reverse and reversing back my car seems to stall/misfire this also happens when i put it in drive and go to take off i notice the car is delayed in acceleration any idea as to what this could be???, this also happens when ive been driving and i stop at a set of lights or exiting a shopping centre i put my foot on the excelerator however the car dosent move straight away its like it takes 5-10 seconds to process could this be a problem with the battery, spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel filter, air filter??? its really got me curious, can someone please tell me what you might think it is. Ive taken it to the mechanics and explained the misfire and stalling however they’ve come back to me with thousands of dollars worth of problems and no reason at all as to why theres a misfire, stalling, sluggishness ect.
Thanks in advance
