Brand new generator was not working and needed a replacement - was told it was a 4-6 week warranty claim and they can then choose to fix it, it wasn't even 4 weeks old and had been used once!
I was sold the product on basis of reliability and Sydney Tools service and asked if there was any way of avoiding the 4-6 week wait, I was threatened and intimidated!
I was further threatened for recording the interaction on my phone as evidence, the only reason I believe I wasn't physically harmed by the bullying staff.
I then received a call from the area manager threatening legal action against me for recording and reviewing the interaction!
The toxic behaviour clearly exists at an organisational level.

My experience at Sydney Tools with John was excellent. He tried to secure me a deal and when the tool I wanted wasn't available (due to Covid shortages) he went out of his way and gave me a great deal on another package which I am very happy with.
I will now recommend this store to my friends based on my experience with John.
Thanks mate and cheers.

I've ordered two items for Click and collect from the shop in Port Melbourne on the 30 of July.
I place the order because the website stated 1-hour click&collect and both items where indicated as in stock at the time of purchase.
After one week and no communication I went to the store to check what was going on and they told me that the items where not in stock and that needed to be ordered. They placed the order and told me that it would have been ready in 5 to 7 days.
After 7 days, I went again to the store and they gave me the exact same ans...

Sam & his colleagues were unhelpful to say the least (Port Melbourne). Worst customer service and no willingness to apologise for their lack of communication. Our order was placed in April, it took us many phone calls to find out they had the item in for weeks. Picked up mid July and fair to say we have no interest in dealing with them EVER again.

Whilst my actual experience with Sydney Tools was mixed I do have to go 5 stars for this review due to my interaction with the Sales Manager at their Port Melbourne store, Andrew. At one stage he even offered to drive my goods out to me in his own time to try to make up for shipping delays beyond their company’s control.
From that exemplary effort to go the extra mile I would most definitely shop with them again.

Catalogue in paper and on internet advertised a Milwaukee jobsite backpack which included a free tape measure which was a great deal however I was told it was a mistake and they never heard of it even though I had the catalogue in hand, so to get my tape measure I’d have to buy the more expensive bag which I didn’t, so ended up with a different Milwaukee bag, just get you in the door with false advertisement to try to up sell products! It’s not a big deal just principle and the fact it was out of my way to go there instead of my standard total tools shop I drive past everyday.

I went into the Sunshine branch, it took a week to give me a price on a major item and I had a cheaper price from Total Tools so it took another week and still no answer.
I called the Port Melbourne branch and was told the manager isn't in yet. I waited for his call.
He called and I was on another call, I called back straight away and was told 'The Manager' had to go out and buy some milk, I left my number again and waited and waited.
While I waited, I read the reviews and need I say any more about the service - it is non existent!

Jack did all the paperwork for a tool redemption as i told him i hate doing paperwork.
I called total tools in Port Melbourne and spoke to Jack to check if they had a tool in stock that i wanted to buy. While i had him on the phone, I also asked him if he could do me a favour and process a redemption deal from the last time i was in store and bought a number of Hitachi tools from them. When i got to the store and bought my new Hitachi cordless circular saw, Jack had gone the extra mile of processing the redemption order for me. I told him i hated doing paperwork and thanked him for taking away this headache. This one headache...
Read more out the way made my day! While on the topic of Hitachi, Sydney Tools is by far the best place to buy Hitachi products. While at the store I also wanted to know about plunge saws. Another staff member (i didn't pay attention to his name) was showing me a Festool plunge saw and rail. This guy knew his stuff well and gave a hands on demo of how it works. He even showed me numerous accessories too and explained how they worked. Although i wasn't in the market right now for this tool, I do know that if it did come to me needing one, my homework and research was already done. So keep up the good work guys!- Shop LocationPort Melbourne

Through some communications error, theirs or mine, the ordered cordless drill did not arrive when expected. Jessie, at Port Melbourne, said he would take care of it... and he did. Called back a few minutes later and told me there was a better drill, at the same price, ready for my pick-up. Awesome service. I will certainly go back next time I need to purchase a tool.

Recently purchased an industrial vac from Jake at Port Melbourne. I was amazed at his knowledge and understanding of the tools for sale. Clearly a passion! Was sold something that was not the most expensive yet did the job perfectly for me. His knowledge on other items was very good and a refreshing change. Prices seemed competitive and service was exceptional. Great new player on the Victorian scene. In case you are wondering I have no vested interest in this organisation
