Don’t believe them
Our phone and internet was out from January 26th, eventually fixed 14th March. This took many many frustrating phone calls. Despite promise to have bill credited this has no happened

Awful Service Telstra and NBN
It all started on the 7/02 when me and my partner moved in to a new house. We decided we would get NBN and go through Telstra because that is really all we get reception wise out our way.
So we rang up Telstra and asked to order a specific NBN plan. He said no worries and you would hear from someone in 3 days. A week later i ring up and it turns out the guy never processed the order.

What a joke
So on the current covid19 crisis Telstra have NO support for people who are struggling with their bills, they say they offer help but dont, already today I have received 3 phone calls regarding an over due bill which I have explained to them I will sort it when some form of money arrives into my account.

Telstra Cancellation
I have been attempting to cancel my deceased mother's phone service for the last two weeks, I am the executor of her estate and have tried the following without success
(1) Downloaded the mobile app and followed the recommended steps
(2) Engaged with the 24/7 chat facility and left three detailed texts all remain unanswered
(3) Called 13 22 00, the facility for voice recognition of the recommended word" disconnect" is not available
(4) Called 13 22 00 and waited for 45 minutes in the queue before giving up

Telstra management to be blamed
Now for one mount and three day i calling telstra every 24 hours to give me back our landline phone number. All consultant admit that nothing wrong with my request and say issue reported to responsible department and be done in 24 hours. That is why every 24 hours for more than a month I call to remind them but still no hope. I only blame managers and top management that created a system that not working. Subsystems not related to the whole system and... Nothing is on its place or interested do something.

Call centre
You would think a telecommunications provider would be able to offer a call back service when they have 'long waiting periods due to usual demand' which seems to be most of the time. They directed me to their website to resolve an issue using online chat. When I got to the online chat facility they advised it was not available.

Very slow to fix error
Pre ordered Samsung S20+. Wasn’t delivered to the Telstra shop due to an incorrect manual address entry. Mistakes happen. BUT - I have had to chase around to get my order and after nearly 2 weeks it is back at their warehouse waiting to be ‘actioned’. It’s been there 4 days and still nothing. If. It wasn’t for the Samsung pre order offer now expired, I would cancel my service and try another telco.

I heard the horror stories, seriously regret signing up with them
I chose Telstra for a business account because I wrongly thought they had greater control over the infrastructure (ADSL)
I have HUGE regrets, its been an absolute nightmare. I've never hated a service so much.
Dealing with customer service is a major PAIN
They are rude and arrogant
I was thinking of switching my mobile to Telstra but there is NO WAY I am doing that now

Hopeless service
I have a 91 year old mother who lives by herself in a regional area and her home line is out or down every three months or so......including now. I’ve checked on Telstra incident map and it says that there isn’t a problem. I’m now trying navigate their help service system and waited 27 minutes on hold before hanging up and trying their ‘priority/ urgent’ number but guess where ended up?.....back at the general waiting que that now states that the wait is in excess of 20 minutes.
They are hopeless and then advertise telling the ‘great unwashed’ how good they are but then treat us with contempt or like sheep.
I can’t wait to put this to A Current Affair....and thank goodness no one else in our extended family has to use this mob

Not Happy Jan
Very unhappy with Telstra at the moment. They give terrible service, terrible customer service, long wait times and they don't care. What more can I say? Stay away and avoid if possible.

The most Un-Australian Company that does not care for any Australians
Simple.
In the country, have cut off our copper phone line (it's still there) 12 months and have not done a thing about it.
We get are calls from Indian call centers once a week for 12 months asking if they can close the complaint.
No one has done anything about it so no.
Today, just before Australian Long weekend, stopped our email account. We are still on the phone now, 3 hours and counting and just getting a rude Indian who keeps reading company policies.
Maybe if Telstra employed Aussies, we would get this crap sorted in a respectable time...Read more

Non existent unprofessional pathetic service
Once again phoned customer service because the nbn was too slow
The morons did a speed test and found that there were problems with our line
Made an appointment for the next day for someone to come and investigate and hopefully fix the problem
The window they gave me was between 1pm and 6pm
Waited and waited and surprise surprise no one arrived
No phone call no nothing
You are pathetic Telstra and can’t understand how you are still in business

Zero customer service or communication
After years of Telstra land line I call 4 times to disconnect it. 3 call backs dont occur, then I get a very helpful call centre operator who says they will arrange to disconnect. I am currently at 55 minutes on the phone and it still hasnt been actioned. This company is an absolute disgrace, the staff keep apologising that the system is running slow. They will take your money and connect you, but wait all week to get someone to answer in their call centre and over an hour to disconnect and still waiting.

Complaint resolved !! But then again maybe not
After nearly 6 months of problems with intermittent at best landline and wifi service from this provider and numerous phone calls and visits from technicians to remedy the problem- not to mention 3 complaints lodged with no response whatsoever to any of them- finally after a phone call of 1hour and twenty minutes duration all was resolved and a credit was issued to my mother

horrible overpriced services
was a customer for over 5 years. they refused to upgrade or repair the copper, and calling customer support was a nightmare. people reading from a script who clearly had no idea about telephone technology issues, and they didn't seem to care if you have a problem or if it gets resolved!
will never be a customer with them ever again, and I tell everyone to avoid telstra if at all possible.

Phone and internet outages caused by Telstra - the only telephone network in Australia - never fixes issues properly.
Telstra patches bits of its old cabling as it breaks, but only some time after you call. These outages are no good for business or recording TV. And no refund.

Complaints Never Resolved
When you have a complaint for bad service, errors etc.etc. their overseas call centre never resolve the problem they pass you and keep on passing you to all of their friends and NEVER resolve anything time to get rid of them . Choose wisely but never any provider such as Telstra who will rip you off on service and does not fix anything.

Don't buy from Telstra online!!!
I purchased a prepaid mobile phone from Telstra on 29/9/19 it is now over a month and still order hasn't been sent. They have tried every excuse. I contacted them via LiveChat, 132200 and 1320000 to lodge a complaint as shown on the Telstra website all to no avail they refused to let me speak with anyone in Australia or to even lodge a complaint. could not get in contact with me maybe because they had the wrong phone number and that they can't reach me via email??? hmm I wonder how I received and responded to the email if I was unattainable via email???? They give you a 1800 number and a PIN to enter with a contact of who is handling your complaint. I've rung twice now and they keep you on hold each phone call lasts over half and hour with no resolution. They say that matter is closed/resolved, it was never addressed. You can't speak with anyone in Australia it's a shame they did away with Australian workers who could have addressed a simple matter before it was blown out of proportion costing Telstra more in the long run than a overseas call centre operator who cannot understand the issue and you just keep getting put through hoops,. A lot of people would just give up but I'm not letting a big corporation like Telstra put it over the little guy. All of the previous 1800 Telstra complaints phone numbers have been disconnected. No matter how hard you try you cannot speak with anyone in Australia or even anyone who can actually just address the issue. No resolve it keeps going on, my guess is in the hope you just give up and they keep your money. I paid for the phone with Paypal and have lodged a buyer protection claim with them I'm not holding my breath! I have now contacted the Office of the CEO not holding my breath there either. I warn others who think they will support Telstra being Australian and claiming to have the biggest and best coverage. I'm in the bush and Optus actually has better coverage I wish I had of just stayed with them. Telstra refuse to cancel my order and refund my money. Telstra lured me with a great offer as they say if it sounds to good to be true it probably is! Stay away! The Telstra shops aren't any better staff have no authority and are inexperienced and rely on the website for information. I have to drive two hours to my nearest one. An overseas call centre operator can advise you to go to your nearest Telstra store they don't understand it is a 2 hour drive or even care if you break your neck to get there. No one has even said sorry Telstra is like "the computer says no"! cough cough! Save yourself the wasted time and headache! Stay away from Telstra! two months and account still not closed
Never deal with Telstra. Asked to close my internet/foxtel/phone bundle 2 months ago and they still have not closed it. Every excuse under the sun other than just simply close. Incompetence at every level.
Further we have made complaints, raised the issue with the ombudsman which is ongoing and despite all this they still have not done the very simple thing of close the account.
All they say is we have raised the issue and they are waiting on someone internally to do something. But when we suggest that possibly that person is not doing ...Read more
