Shocking environmental attitude by Telstra!
Shame on Telstra for asking customers, when cancelling this service, to dump their TV app and associated NBN apps, to end up in landfill and further poison our environment! Not only that, but I was also charged a hefty sum for cancellation of this service!

Be careful not to breathe too closely to the remote. You might accidentally change channels.
Remote has bipolar.
Do not like remote Sam I am, do not like it no no no. Do not like how when I look at you, that you feel the need to change my show.

Quality of sound on Telstra TV3
We find it hard to pick up what is being said on Netflix shows through Telstratv3. Bought a sound bar but that made no difference so wondering if others have had similar problems

Absolutely rubbish, only have it as locked into a contract. Full of glitches, always resetting it trying to get it to go
Full of glitches, normal free to air tv barely works due to the glitches. Always resetting and starting again. Telstra is terrible for service, will never be using them again.

TelstraTV ....it is the most frustrating thing ever
Paid over $200 nearly a year ago for this heap of garbage! This is my second unit as I became so frustrated with the one I purchased in the first place that I took it back to the local Telstra shop and requested a replacement because it wasn't working properly. The replacement is no better....in fact I think its worse. It is super slow to connect to LiveTV and the TV guide to change channels. I have terrible trouble loading Netflix programs and have to continually turn the thing off and restart it. I have a chromecast on my other TV and it ...Read more
works perfectly with Netflix, SBS on demand, etc. etc. I connected the chromecast to the TV that had the TelstraTV connected to it and everything worked fine. I've tried talking to Telstra people about this and haven't got anywhere. They fob me off and say its Netflix, my TV, or my Wi-fi. Rubbish! Its the dumb Telstra TV....I hate it! DO NOT BUY IT!Purchased in April 2021 for $200.00.

This is a negative 5. a pain in the neck
This is a negative 5 ...it is a pain in the neck. It never hooks up ever first go .. have to pull plug from unit every time (ok90%) but it is so annoyingly unreliable. Either Netflix, movies and other series and features never load up.or it's live tv that doesn't andvif tv does it comes up no program on every station or you can't scroll to next program.. it's like having a tv back in the 80's with no remote and having to get up to change the station but it's one of those tv's in the year 2020 it's a killer. Hate is not a strong enough word.

A pond without Disney
Australia's biggest network and the much hyped Telstra Tv has some great features but is slow to keep up- if you want Disney you will have to pay Telstra for all Disney shows. There are better options like Apple TV it chrome cast. Do your research

Reliable set-top box but missing a record function
Replaced an earlier generation T-Box which had a few minor bugs but was great as you could record and chase play live FTA TV. Reviewing after 1 year of ownership of the Telstra TV unit - no point reviewing any appliance until you have had to live with it for a while..
New Telstra TV unit arrived and installation to TV and home WiFi network was very simple out of the box, the device is a Roku unit and is fairly reliable and stable, and keeps its internet connection via WiFi to a standard Telstra NBN router without "forgetting" them and needing...Read more
a qualified IT scientists to reconnect, we run ours to a simple old plasma TV via HDMI and use this to watch Netfix and Foxtel as well as FTA TV. There are a few little weird things about this unit, it does not have an "off" button, and you just have to select how long you want the unit to stay "on" before it times out and switches itself off. Some people complain about the lack of "hard buttons" on the outside like power, channel up and down etc but the supplied remote is reliable and you can download an app to make your phone a remote control for the unit. The remote is simple with a home button to switch it on and then dedicated buttons for Live TV, TV Guide, Netflix and Foxtel. The remote is very simple but logical and I would say that this PVR is almost "Grandma Proof" and its simplicity or operation means that I would probably trust anyone to be able to figure out how to use this. Watching free to air digital TV is straightforward and the unit can keep track of and supports multiple Netflix user accounts without a problem. We have watched a few YouTube videos on this box and the box also supports all the free to air "Apps" from the home screen so except for recording live free to air TV or Foxtel it can pretty much do most things that you would want. Occasionally I have noticed on rare occasions on startup that the HDMI connection is a little "borky" and we occasionally have to switch off the Telstra TV Roku unit at the power point, and then back on again - not sure if its the Telstra TV box or just a cheap TV or HDMI cord but turning off the Telstra TV is a painless experience as it always finds its home WiFi network again fairly quickly. So Telstra customers have lost the ability to record Free to air TV but have gained Netflix on one simple convenient remote with the new Telstra TV over the older Telstra T-Box. If you have a decent quality "dumb TV" that you don't want to throw out just to get the features in new "Smart TV's" then the Telstra TV unit is a good option.Purchased in October 2021.

Worth it
Definetly worth it, My favourite thing about it is that if you change providers you can still use the Telstra tv...better than some other providers I'll continue using it x

Worth getting!!
I don’t like normal tv so having the Telstra tv is amazing, it’s got every app you need from Netflix to Foxtel to 10 play, you can watch live tv and everything is in one spot, great not having to switch remotes every time you want to watch something different. I haven’t tried out the record yet but navigating is really easy, easy to use, it’s great.

Bad quality product
I received a Telstra TV 3 system two months ago. It works about two days out of every three. It may improve one day but it is painfully unreliable now.

Not worth having
Not much more than a gimmick. Have used for last couple of months and now back in the box,. Found it was often laggy and sometimes not responsive. Generally works well with apps such as Stan and Netflix, but is extremely poor with live TV. On live TV it often fails to recognise voice commands, is unstable and does not provide functions that are often used on the normal TV remote. Yes, it does work...... but it's not worth it. The normal TV remove might need a couple of more button presses but works more reliably. Biggest frustration and let down was with live TV functionality. Best feature was voice command - when it worked.

Not reliable
Telstra needs to look into the quality control of this product. It feels like they just made something and put it out there into the market without any testing. I guess I'm not the only one having problems with the reliability.

Great when it works (Telstra TV 3)
Love the functionality, but hate the unreliability of this device. I’m onto my second remote and it is also starting to fail. Have to constantly reset the device as it just freezes up (particularly switching to live TV). Live TV also blurs during fast movement. So frustrating! Best not to waste your money.

Garbage product. Don’t buy
I bought this product for mother’s day, she was happy until the “smart” tv box stopped responding and just couldn’t play anything without switching off. If I could’ve I would have got one from Ebay

Love this product. Can't live without it
The products features are excellent. It performs really well. It is really reliable.
I love that I can pause live TV and having a dedicated Netflix button on the remote is great to quickly change from the TV to Netflix. It is easy to navigate

They told me we needed it...and they were right!!
This slimline little piece of tech has added a new dimension to our TV experience. Easy to set up (and reconnect due to poor NBN) it has everything from your regular TV shows, to Netflix, to On Demand and my personal favourite at the minute, hours and hours of You Tube! I do find Live TV a bit clunky to scroll through sometimes and to be honest have only scratched the surface of what is actually capable of. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone wanting to enhance their TV experience.

No Off Switch
This box is designed to be constantly on and as expected it is Telstra central. By central I refer to it advertising tv shows or movies you pay telstra extra for. The remote has dedicated netflix and foxtel buttons. If it wasn't part of the telstra package I would have returned it. Modern smart tvs offer better options than this box.
