Great system
Connected Telstra TV to a recently purchased TV. Easy to set up and use with lots of features. Sits nicely under the TV and has a good flat design . I can connect to my mobile phone and control the unit remotely.

Best way to watch TV
This is a fantastic unit. I am very satisfied with the product. Unit is very reliable with no drop outs, provided your WIFI connection is good. Telstra TV offers a great range of television programs for free and if you want you can subscribe to different apps if you want movies or something specific. The best function is that if you miss an episode of your favorite program you can catch it back up. My personal favorite is the NRL and AFL apps. I never miss a game. The unit comes as part of your package with Telstra.

Remote a dud!
I was amazed with the voice control on my TelstraTV3 remote, until it started playing up. Then other buttons started playing up. Three weeks later my remote totally froze. After contacting Telstra, l was informed the new remotes have a bug in them that the manufacturer, Roku, have not fixed as yet. I will be sent a new modified remote (no fancy extras) in 3 to 5 working days, so can only watch free tv till then.
My opinion is, the manufacturer has tried to put too much into one small remote and hence we have serious issues with it. Has anyone else had similar problems with the new fancy remote?

Does the job
It’s a good product however it sometimes buffers and just from region to region. It’s sometimes pixelated on screen which can be frustrating if trying to read something of importance

Could be better
I live in a unit where there is no access to a Foxtel Dish and can't have one installed because of Body Corporate issues. I therefor required a Telstra TV Box so as to be able to watch Foxtel and at the same time be able to access Live TV and the Live Netball App. Whilst the latter pleases me, the reliability of the Box does not. It often has to be unplugged and restarted due to glitches in the system. It is not the WiFi causing the glitches as other appliances are continuing to work perfectly. The sound is poor when working via an App and is twice as loud on Live TV. I find the Telstra TV Box very frustrating and believe that there needs to be an upgrading of the system. I would not recommend Telstra TV anyone.

Unreliable. Just like their NBN service
I have had the Telstra TV for over a month now and whilst I do love the concept it constantly need to be unplugged and plugged back in a again. Live TV freezes daily. Live TV looses sound and pixelates. Apps are extremely slow to load, and sometimes the preview (screen grab/icon) does not match the program. Youtube (which was the main motivation for getting the Telstra TV) run laggy and jumpy. Our internet spped is over 30mbps, so it's the Telstra TV which struggles to process HD clips.

A real life Turd ornament for your lounge room. Every house should have one.
This one of the worst services on offer. There are very limited ‘apps’ you can activate on this 250g plastic Turd ornament. The only other thing bland enough to compare Telstra TV to is a bag of plain flour, but even flour is useful.
Slow, clunky and useless.
A true monument to Telstra inability to understand user experience.

Utter Crap!
Received this when we upgraded to NBN. On the surface it looks great, but when you try to watch anything, it buffers, or you get no sound, or ...and here’s the hilarious bit... it says it cannot connect to the internet... I got sick of the buffering and the grainy picture while watching a movie on Amazon Prime, so I stopped the device, turned on the PS4 and the movie loaded with a clear picture and no more trouble!

Simply awful
My partner signed up when we moved. We previously had Foxtel via old fashioned box and dish due to remote location.
We have a one year old Samsung smart tv which we already used to access apps like amazon prime, sbs on demand etc. without issue and superior picture quality.
We got sucked into Telstra TV with Foxtel.
We should have stuck to Foxtel via ANY OTHER MEANS.
The Roku box is crap, glitchy wont load channels (free or Foxtel). Have to reboot it 3 times a day. SLOW SLOW SLOW.
Using app function through Roku box is impossible will not l...Read more

Finicky piece of kit
We have had our Telstra TV now for about six months. The good is that when it works you can easily access the available subscription services or Free to air content. The bad is that the unit is prone to having “spin outs” for no apparent reason, usually when switching from one content to another. Typically the unit seems to have issues most frequently when switching back to live TV. It seems to get stuck and you need to try different things to snap it out of the dead end loop. Free TV channels also fail to list detail quite frequently. Wh...Read more
ile overall cost of ownership is quite low you would be wrong to have high expectations if you are looking to buy one. On a value for money scale it would rate well when compared to other available products.Purchased in June 2021 at telstra.

Rebranded and Limited Roku 4 Player
This version of Telstra TV is based on a media streaming device by Roku Inc which is actually a pretty good piece of hardware. The Roku is natively a platform where you can add any number of thousands of channels from a world wide selection. As you subscribe (some free most not) a new Icon will appear on your screen. However, in order to keep the Telstra brand separate and the content tightly controlled, Telstra have locked off the units ability to load anything other than Telstra TV content which is a waste. The fact that Roku will not suppl...Read more
y anything other than the Telstra branded box to Australia nor will allow you to activate the box when in Australia, speaks poorly of the business deal that must exist between Telstra and Roku. Save your money and buy a Nvidia Sheild TV device. It will play everything that Telstra TV plays, better and without limitations.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
