While I cannot fault the comfort of our mattress (although extremely hot to sleep on), our experience with Tempur has been less than satisfactory. Our mattress developed depressions on both sides of the bed. Tempur’s warranty conditions ‘allowed’ us to replace the mattress at 30% of our original purchase price for every year over an initial five year period, effectively paying tempur $3600.00 to replace a faulty mattress that we have already outlayed $6000.00 for. Trying to reach a conclusion was the biggest, most time consuming and labour extensive exercise ever. With zero result. I would never recommend this company/brand/product to anyone who values the products they invest in as this one is not worth it.
Purchased in November 2021 at Forty Winks for A$6,000.00.

Tempur Mattress Avoiding Warranty Claim
We purchased this mattress just on 4 years ago from Harvey Norman and chose the firm option. The Company itself, do not honour their warranty claims due to the mattress having to be at least a 2cm impression. This does not apparently include the fact that the support has gone from the mattress whereby no longer firm but soft. I would not recommend this product or Tempur due to the fact they do not stand by their warranty or change it to suit themselves if a buyer ends up with a problem. A reputable Company would listen to customers and repl...Read more
ace the product within their warranty. Hopeless 10 years warranty when the Tempur Company Dan foam do not honour it. Buyers should buy mattresses with a spring foundation underneath as if and when the Tempur foam fails (gets soft) thats all you have to support you! along with the recommended base. It seems instead of warranting their mattresses, they just discontinue, and bring out a new model!!Purchased in January 2021 at Harvey Norman.

Has been great
Our Tempur mattress is 12 years old & now ready for replacing. There was no compression of the foam until about 8years in. I have always loved it, although as it is a high density foam it has been warm on those hot summer nights, something we were anticipating. I will absolutely be replacing it with a Tempur. Although not for everyone, it was perfect for us.
Purchased in September 2021 for A$2,399.00.

Extremely comfortable
We bought this new bed a couple of months ago. We have a pair of long singles placed together. The Tempur mattresses are incredibly comfortable. We both love them. They are soft and at the same time, very supportive. I have arthritis in my hips and I found that with our previous innerspring mattress, after a short while it was painful to lie on my side (my normal sleep position). With the Tempur mattress there is absolutely no sensation of pressure that would cause me pain. The mattresses are very supportive and do not cause back pain as some soft mattresses do.
We bought from the Bed Shed at Aspley in Brisbane. They were very helpful.

Worth every penny
I'm so glad I went with my gut instinct and assumed that the majority of people who write on review sites are unhappy. The feedback on the Tempur Original was fairly negative but I'd slept on one for a week when I was house sitting so I just had to convince my partner. Best. Purchase. Ever. It took a couple of nights to get used to but after 4 weeks I wake up every morning feeling rested, I don't wake up when my partner rolls over in the night and have even stayed sleeping when he got out of bed. I have struggled with poor sleep quality for a number of years. Who knew that a mattress would solve that.

Very comfortable but terribly hot in summer.
We bought our mattress in August last year and it was great until it got hot at night. We wanted to take it back after the first month and then realised that we did not have a waterproof mattress protector per the fine print in the bed shed contract. So we paid nearly $3000 for a dud.

Mattress cover fabric
We have similar issues with our mattress or may be only with the fabric of the mattress cover. We purchased our mattress 4 years ago. I loved it from the first minute, but it took a while for my partner to get used to it. He felt like sinking. Now we both like the feel and find very comfortable to sleep on it, except that we need to smooth out the fitted mattress protector and fitted sheet daily and adjust them back to place since they keep wrinkling while shifting to the left. We tried to rotate the mattress to see if this stops, but it didn’t...Read more
, only the shifting changed direction; everything moved to the right. We are up to the point when we cannot put up with this adjusting any more. Recently we got a heated mattress protector, which also started to wrinkle and shift, which, for safety reasons, cannot be left wrinkled at any time. I learned that, this product is discontinued, and currently they are using different fabric for the zip-on cover. So please don't be put off buying Tempur mattresses because, otherwise, they are excellent to sleep on.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Beware of Electrical issues
Great Bed until something goes wrong. Then an absolute hassle to get hold of anyone and get it fixed. Looks like I wont be sleeping on the bed for several weeks

beware of warranty hype
I have had mattress for a few years now. It was good at first even though the heat buildup is quite unbearable in summer and is still happening. Being new it was great for my back but then it started to develop "dipping" in both sides which has gradually gotten worse. I even tried rotating it constantly even though you are not supposed to have to do this. Contacted Harvey Norman and Tempur for warranty replacement of mattress as it is only 3 years old .After a month of waiting they refused to honour my warranty because my mattress had a stain o...Read more
n it and this had apparently compromised the integrity of the mattress (I do have kids and a life and accidents do happen ).It is also a big king bed with problems on both sides and believe me when i say the stain did not cover the entire bed . Even though the the dipping had reached 2cm with photographic evidence taken by the tempur representitive they still refused my warranty. So then i tried to email both companies to say this was unfair but neither will even answer any emails now as they consider the case closed. I am actually in the process of taking this to consumer affairs but i know they will NEVER honour the warranty because it it bogus. PLEASE read the reviews for this company here and in America and you will see that i am doing what most of these people had to as well ...PUT MY $4000 MATTRESS OUT FOR RUBBISH COLLECTION because that it what it is. My new bed arrives tomorrow and my back cannot wait as this has been hell for me for months and months now but TEPUR and HARVEY NORMAN do not care. DO NOT BUY FROM EITHER OF THESES DODGY COMPANIES DISHONEST THEIVES.2 comments

Shame on you. Your company constantly spouts the gospel of the Tempur Warranty. If only the consumer were allowed, or even advised to read the warranty before buying, as maybe this mattress is not suitable to everyone. But you can only access this info after purchase . Buyer Beware I suppose. Also maybe if sales reps at Harvey Norman were honest they might say to people..... Are YOU AWARE IF ANY LIQUID COMES IN CONTACT WITH THIS TEMPUR MATTRESS THE WARRANTY IS VOIDED.... I don't believe as a mother of two young boys that i would ever have purchased this product if i had know this single piece of information. At No time EVER in my discussion with harvey norman sales rep was i told of the fact that i should use a waterproof mattress cover because if anything gets spilled on the product it is ruined. Do you really think i would have purchased such a mattress being the mum of two young children. No sales rep ever discussed specific points that void warranty. And of course harvey norman will not even discuss this with me just a text message to say case closed because temper said so.. That's it. No one will answer any emails anymore. Do you think maybe some product learning for the salesperson might be advantageous to the consumer??Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very comfortable
Very comfortable, as long as you can insulate yourself from the build up of heat during sleeping. Have used a 2 inch bamboo cushioned mattress liner which goes part way to achieving this end. Inquiry be email to Company Product Support brought no response, which unfortunately leads to us never purchasing Tempura products again.

Hi,
Thanks for the great feedback. ... Read more
In this case, you could be feeling the excessive heat during the night because of a number of reasons. TEMPUR is completely breathable and doesn't trap any air, therefore, as long as you have lower thread-count sheet sets and a wooden slatted or TEMPUR adjustable base, the heat from your body should be dissipated throughout the night. In regards to your emails to our support team, which email did you contact? Our customer service team are always there to help our customers and have a fantastic track record. So, it surprises me you heard nothing from them. Hope this helps. - LCSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amazing mattress, no idea how we’ve slept without one!
I wanted to wait some time, purchased in 2016, before actually writing a review. Many things are great the first year, especially something with a price like this; but it has been worth every cent. I have spinal issues and chronic pain, and this has helped so much and allowed me to actually lay in bed watching Tv and sleeping with no pressure or sore points anywhere.
The mattress is firm, which my partner and I wanted and had been extremely consistent with this. The exception, is if the heat is not on in winter, and the room is extremely col...Read more
d, it’s a bit firmer, but nothing that would distract from sleep or comfort. He quality is excellent and didn’t have any of that “plastic” smell when it was delivered. We also purchased a base however the base didn’t fit up and around the stairs to our room, and sadly the retailer “lost” it before we could actually have it moved to storage. So that is on the shoulders of Domayne not in anyway Tempur. I’d suggest to try a few different mattresses, from the firm Tempur to the softer “cloud” ones. Spend ample amount of time so the mattress can conform to your body to determine how it feels. And take it acccount that the mattress is flexible so should be easy to fit around corners and such, but the bases are not. Great warranty of replacement if anything should have an issue. Which I’ve never heard of anyone having an issue with them. My parents have been using them for over 20 years and would never switch to another. Same with us.Similar opinion? Too hot in Summer for me
UPDATE: it’s been 18 months since we bought the Tempur 21 and although I originally loved it - I’ve now had to replace it! It is just way way way too hot for me - Summer is unbearable. I have an air conditioned bedroom but this doesn’t help much. I end up freezing on top and being superheated underneath. It’s not that it makes me sweat - rather it radiates heat and makes me overly warm and results in me waking up every night when it’s Summer. The mattress is otherwise great - still super comfy. My husband loves it but I can’t sleep on it - eve...Read more
n with all cotton lightweight sheets and pjs etc. If you are a warm to hot sleeper I dont recommend Tempur. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We bought the Tempur 21. Both my husband and I are very light (50kg and 70kg). The mattress in the showroom was so comfy we were hooked straight away. When the mattress arrived (boxed and in plastic wrap), I was expecting it to require a lot of airing out but was happy to discover there was NO SMELL at all! Unfortunately it was really firm and not like the store mattress at all. The first two nights I had a sore back and neck. We put the mattress on the floor and walked all over it many times over the next 4 days and that definitely softened it up so that it was perfect. We love this mattress and are super happy with our purchase! We don’t find it hot at all - in fact it’s a lot cooler than our previous pillow top. We do sleep with cotton blankets though (we always have).Purchased in September 2021.

As expected better than the cheaper foam imatation we had before
It great as expected except the mattress cover and fitted sheet keeps twisting not certain that that has anything to do with the mattress but it didn't happen with our last one so it must be the fabric that covers the mattress.

Must Buy !!!
You will get what you paid for !!! You will be able to sleep through comfortably even if you sleep with an elephant bouncing up and down.
I had a shoulder ache with any other mattress, but this bed fixed it.
It does get a bit warm when the room is very hot in summer, but it's not a problem if you use an aircon.

Tempur Asteria Sensation
Both my husband and I were not satisfied with this mattress. Unfortunately, this Tempur mattress emits a heat that caused both of us to wake up in a sweat throughout the night. Sadly, we’d both not had a good night’s sleep since we took delivery of the mattress because of the heat problem. The mattress radiates heat from the core - that you simply cannot escape. It is not a comfort factor, it is an unavoidable torment. We seemed to be constantly washing bed linen because of the sweating issue. And more worrisome - my cognitive function du...Read more
ring the day was sluggish due to lack of sleep. After a couple of weeks hoping we just needed time to adjust, it made no improvement. We thought we would troubleshoot further online. There was a review that a wool underlay helped with the heat (in that the underlay would act like a buffer for the heat). So I promptly went out to buy both another new underlay & lighter wool blanket in the hope that these would resolve the issues.. It hadn’t. The lighter doona was too cold for winter and the heat from underneath was still roaring hot. I’d alternated in between my sheets – from my ‘good’ 750TC ; down to 360TC ; down to 250TC – but no matter what sheets / underlays / doona we use, the heat would just emanate from beneath.. Luckily Harvey Norman were apologetic and refunded the mattress after our complaint. We promptly bought a different brand and are now extremely happy.Similar opinion? TOO HOT & CHEMICALS - SHOCKING EXPERIENCE
Naturally, we can only tell our own experience and I wish I had read the reviews about this mattress more carefully before shopping.
Should you consider buying a Tempur mattress I would strongly suggest to try it in a showroom for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Don’t let any salesperson interrupt you. My husband and I rushed into a decision as initially it feels really nice lying on it. But wait till you sleep on it for hours.
After the first night my husband woke up feeling sick and he developed an inexplicable cold, which he still has (off-gas...Read more

Give it some time
We bought a King sized Tempur as I have a terrible back from lifting. After the first few weeks I emailed the retailer telling him it was excruciating and I hated it. He was great and offered some alternatives.
In the meantime I saw my Chiro and did some stretching ...... fast forward to 3mths and I love it.
I stayed in a hotel last weekend and being a side sleeper, it wasn't long until my shoulder hurt. Came home to the Tempur and it felt great.
It's such a different feel that it really took me some time. Now I'm totally happy. Give it some time

Absolutely worst mattresses ever made
It's actually a Rhapsody 30. When I first bought this bed I had enormous back pain as a direct result of the bed. The tempur sales rep came out to investigate and I have persisted with the bed. Whilst it has improved, it has never been a comfortable bed and almost every morning I wake up stiff and sore from the bed. I've never had a good night's sleep with the bed. I think Tempur beds are terrible and that it's mostly marketing and hype that has given tempur its reputation. I suppose good on them. I'm going to sell the bed as I hate it so much and go back to a reliable, trusted brand. Such a shame.

Can you use an electric blanket
1 answer
I suggest you check with a retailer who stocks Tempur. We don't use an electric blanket, but if you are unsure about using one with a Tempur mattress, maybe you could place a woollen blanket under the electric blanket to keep the heat away from the mattress. However, I suggest you check with a retailer to be sure. BTW, we love the Tempur mattress.

As per our warranty, any liquid spilt on the mattress itself voids the warranty, this is due to any liquid that comes into contact with the mattress being soaked up by the visco-elastic material. Therefore, due to the large stain and admitted spillage on the mattress, our parent company (who processes warranty claims) automatically rejected the claim due to the lack of a valid warranty.
