After purchasing my item and using it for 10 minutes it fell apart
on returning it to the store for a refund or store credit
i was told that they would have to get permission from head office
and denied a refund or store credit on the spot
So i am now buying a $500 welder and ladders from SYNEY TOOLS

So disappointed with this store. No return and no credit on heaters just because we ordered it for you?!!!?!!?!? This seems totally ridiculous and not in writing anywhere stating that if we order for you from our warehouse you can’t even get a store credit.

The biggest issue with making a purchase online is the process that is put in place to make a return.
In my case I made purchase online and it was click and collect from Tullamarine VIC store. Later I decided to return 1 of the item and then I became aware of the painful process and experience. To return a product you have to contact online customer service, noting that as of now there is no contact number or live chat facility which is active (April 21) hence you are required to fill online form. My business partner bought an industrial high quality pressure washer. Unfortunately the pump failed after 2 hours use. After 2-3 weeks and several follow ups requesting refund or new machine we had not heard back. It was not until we engaged the company lawyer that is was assessed and replaced after nearly a month. OK that is bad luck the machine fails but the aftermarket service was appalling and cost us a lot in $$ and time for rental machines... but wait, there's more..it happened again..

Ordered a battery operated rattle gun. I had selected "click and collect" however at the pay screen, after it asks for my car details it says to enter my email address (I had but they need it again in another box for a newsletter). Why would you not do this check before asking for card details is beyond me.

My experience at total tools was unforgettable because everyone there was so nice they all said hello can I help you with anything. It a change from all the other shops I've been to were the employees are inconsiderate and didn't care but not total tools.

I asked if I bought an item and kept the receipt, could I return it. They said yes, and I ended up bringing the item back unopened, unused, in packaging, and they tell me I can’t get a refund if it’s over 2 weeks. I only bought it late November... what total tools these guys are. It’s not just out of principle that I won’t go back, as a tradie, I can’t afford to do business with dishonourable businesses. I’ll just go to the million other shops that have reasonable policies.

I went to store and asked about a laser measure. I was asked if indoors or outdoors. I advised mostly indoors but a little outdoor use. I was then advised that the red laser is tricky to see outdoors and green is easier. Sounded plausible to me. We discussed the price and I purchased an item. Unfortunately I was sold a laser line not a measure. I didn't really pay attention to the box. I returned to store and was easily able to exchange for a laser measure with fantastic service saving the day.

I purchased a Kreg T-clamp back in June e 2020, first time using it I found it to be faulty, being Jan 2021. Took it back to Total Tools Mackay the guys their agreed it was faulty and under warranty. I was advised the process was in the hands of Kreg, however the guys agreed to simy replace the item then and there and they would process the warranty direct with Kreg,the upside being,I was not left without the use of the tool. They didn't have to do this and the assistance is great appreciated.

Great helpful team at Lonsdale store.
The missus's got the wrong product so I went in and seen the boys and swapped for what I wanted with no hassle or fuss. I also picked up other things while I was there and couldn't be happier with the service and advice from the team.
Will be going back soon.

I ordered a Makita cordless jigsaw for my boyfriend it arrived and as l was unpacking it l noticed the box looked very rough so I started to take pictures as l unwrapped even the stickers on the box were yellow from being on display for along time. Read moree l explained it was a Christmas present and l will need a refund asap as l need to get another from somewhere. l wanted to speak to a manager but they would not come to the phone. no customer service at all. the process to return it being me re wrapping the product with a new printed label sending pictures of the damage and give it to a courier waiting for the store to say it was damaged, which they knew before the store sent it out then the internet part of total tools sent a refund after a week but not in time for me to get another. l don't have another $200 dollars just sitting to use, l needed the refund ASAP the same way they recieved their money as they knew they sent out rubbish and offered a pack of $10.00 blades as compensation if l kept the saw very upset will never deal with total tools anywhere- Product Quality

My partner and I walked into the Brendale store on a Sunday, absolutely dead quiet. And took us 20 mins to get served by a sale rep. Bought a faulty product and refused to refund it. Now we are stuck with a faulty item as they are trying to claim ‘we changed out mind’ with the item we purchased.
