I am trying to find out the height measurements for my 2008 200 series Sahara to work out if my springs have sagged over its 12 year lifespan. I have been to varying suspension shops and no one appears willing to give me the details, or they don't really know. Also two seem to measure from different points - 1. the centre point of the wheel to underneath the guard or 2. from the bottom of the rim to underneath the guard.
So does anyone have the measurements and the correct way to make the measurements or where I can find them?

After 12yrs i can say with 100% accuracy that your springs have sagged and your shocks are likely doing nothing at all. Suspension will last 3-5yrs at best. If use off road, on corrugated roads and harsh environments, even less. Ive seen standard suspension start to fade after 1hr on a dirt road.

Thanks Stuart, I had made some basic measurements by putting a level bar across the roof at the highest point and measuring to the ground and comparing that with the height off Redbook and I figured that even with larger tyres it had dropped 20-30mm. So probably more. I am just looking for a way of doing it more accurately.
Center of the front wheel to guard stock is 500mm.
Center of rear wheel to guard stock is 570mm

The driving position memory in my 2008 Sahara has stopped working a while ago. I am wondering if there is some kind of process I have to go through to re activate it, I think it stopped after putting in new batteries but didn't notice.

I have a 2008 model V8 diesel auto. It battles to reverse. It does not move when I hook a trailer to the nose towbar and try to reverse.
Even over a slight bump and definitely uphill. Even if I rev the motor a bit.
The gearbox oil was changed by Toyota but there is no improvement. Please advise?

Why are you hooking the trailer/van to the front end and then reversing? I have a 2015 Cruiser and when hooked to the rear tow ball have no trouble driving forward or reversing our 2.9 ton carvan. Every time we come home I reverse it back onto the driveway with no problem. I have never tried to hook the van on the front and reverse it. Maybe reverse is not meant to pull 3 ton.
Check the handbrake. Ive seen mechanic's over adjust them and it almost locks up the wheels in reverse. The other issue is the brake distribution, with heavy weight on the front the brakes will be doing some weird stuff. They arent designed to be used like this. Reversing with the van correctly hooked up to the rear will be very different

Is there a mute function anywhere in the audio settings for the navigation or radio CD Bluetooth etc. a friend used my 2014 Sahara and has done something accidentally I think.

Hi guys i have a 2016 sahara and when i turn ac on it makes a noise but can only hear from inside th er car. When I drive noise is gone but when I stop it comes back. Ac is really cold no problem there. Anyone experience this issue?

Hi my Lc200 V8 petrol has problems going into reverse.
Sometimes it reacts immediately,but frequently it doesnt react .
Lets you wait for a minute or five.
Any idea what this can be?

A repair is around $3500 using an aftermarket screen. Ive seen dealers charge upto $6k for a genuine one. Dont let the kids kick the screens

Any ideas on how to release the left hand side 3rd row seat that is stuck in the stowed position (up against the side wall) as when pulling on the release latch it feels as though it has lost connection with the wire or whatever mechanism is used to release it?

you can pop the cover off the catch and see if you can see the wire or the plastic cover is just clipped on so can be pulled off enough to get to the wire.

Hi, I have a 2022 Landcruiser Sahara and have just had the genuine harness for towing fitted. Rear Parking sensors scream when in reverse and a trailer is attached! How can I turn them off.
Shouldnt the harness automatically sense a trailer and turn them off?

There is a button on the dash to turn off the sensors. A good installer will connect a relay to disable when a trailer is plugged in.

Our 2015 Sahara had flat batteries so were replaced. Also jump started prior to that.
Now the Sat nav screen is blank....cant turn anything on.
Checked fuses. Any advice?

There are fuses under the glove box. You need to be a contortionist to access. There is a clip on cover you need to remove first then you will see the fuse box cover. It will be in there. Other fuse boxes in drivers side kick panel (right of the accelerator)

Hi i have a 2009 GXL land cruiser 200 and smashed the rear a little bit . I want to know if the tail lights bumper and back door top and bottom from a 2018 GXL land cruiser 200 will fit ?

The outer tail lights will fit from the 2015-2019 but done stick out as far. The inner lights attached the the upper tailgate are a different shape and wont fit BUT the whole tailgate can be swapped over and you can have a 2018 rear end on a pre facelift model. (i have personally done this)

Can you play music USB sticks in a 2012 MY12 LC Sahara? When I insert it, it flashes, bit no USB prompt appears on the screen. Only Ipod and Aux. Doesn't work on Aux. Has DVDs whoch show in screen in the roof. Not in this model? Is it just a charging USB port? Thanks.

yes the noise is normal. Scary sound for sure but its a safety feature to stop the car rolling back on hills. its applying the brake via the ABS system

The door striker (U shaped catch) is loose on one door frame (not the door itself). Tighten it up.
