Excellent
Good quality built from a manufacturer that is known for its quality product. For such a large vehicle, the drive quality is excellent, with reasonable response on accelerating. Plenty of power from the engine that delivers as and when required. Essential features such as anti-skid braking and air bags are present.
Large capacity fuel tank.
Toyota. A solid product from a good manufacturer.
A reasonably fresh look that doesn't look outdated in a few years.
Good road clearance.
Good drive quality.
ABS.
Air bags are present
Petrol consumption is on the high side, particularly when driving around in the city/suburbs.

Yet anothe 4x4 with the Toyota Toughness. Performs head and shoulders above other 4x4's in its category. Has all the necessary gear such as Hill start, hill decent, 2nd start. Good towing capacity with loads of room. A very good and practical 4x4 all around.
A great 4x4. Excellent drive both on and off road. Driver seat well positioned with good views in all directions. Interior is practical and comfortable and spacious. very easly get 7-8 people without cramming. 180 Litre fuel tank gives good range. V6 with Dual VVTi produces good power and engine torque. Design of the 4x4 is very unique and not too over the top. Well priced 4x4

I like Toyota 4x4's they are usually quite well designed and presented but the popularity of Toyota for commercial use with its range like the Hiace sort of sets it in that category, regardless of some of their fancy Hiace trucks to appeal to the young masculine male demographic they still appeal as a work horse and not a leisure vehicle especially the amount of White Toyotas on the road.
Its a 4WD, live sports utility 4x4's
Its a Toyota and Toyota are curently rated amongst the most expensive for service and parts and they are only mid-level general consumer products...

In Europe it is sold as simply the Toyota Land Cruiser LC3, LC4 or LC5 (depending on the generation) or with the number series designation (LC 70, LC 90 and LC 120). In North America it is not part of the Land Cruiser range, being instead sold as the Lexus GX 470, with nearly identical body panels and a V8 engine, With four models to choose from in Toyota’s 4WD and SUV fleet, Prado represents the first step into true off-road ability, meshing the qualities of a luxurious family SUV and capable off-roader, While exact specifications are still be...Read more
ing finalised, expect the new Toyota Prado to feature some of the electronic aids developed for passenger vehicles such as vehicle stability control and traction control as well as seven airbags as standard. Is very very great vehicle, the current 6 speed auto is a really good transmission. It works very well with the engine. It shifts smoothly and changes gears appropriately and have 3 seat line. The design of the interior is not revolutionary. Mind you many other car interiors still look like this.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

We bought ours brand new in Aug 08 and absolutely love it. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a 4x4.
Comfortable, powerful, economic (D4D GXL)and very sexy looking. Good off road as well.
Rear vision is a bit limited, headlights aren't great and the in glass aerial get's interference pretty easily.

As I said excellent Combination of offroad ability and onroad handling!!
Built on a Light Truck Chasis, so if you dont plan to go offroad, get a soft-roader!! Dont Know what Mae10121967sar was on about when he mentioned "no more diesels in 2008??" The new d4d diesel engine are the top sellers and they definitely wont be gotten rid off any time soon!!
Excellent Combination of offroad ability and onroad Handling!! Excellent D4D Diesel Engine (30% more power then Pre 2006 diesel). Execellent V6 Petrol engine (more power then the 100 series V8). G...Read more

The extra seats in Grande are quiet comfortable, the adjustable air conditioning in the rear seats and in the very back makes it very comfortable when there are 8 peop;e in the car.
Toyota Prado are a great car, comfortable, very good visability, love the seat adjustability. Great fuel consumption
They should have a rear camera for rear visability.

The new Prado which is to be released in a few weeks look great, not only does the new 3 door have a 3 tonne towing capability, It has everything and more than a big 4x4. Toyota have really out done themselves with the CAPPED servicing for 3 years with all new vehicles. They might be a little more expensive than competitors, but look at what you are getting, capped servicing, top rated safety ratings, AMAZING resale and so much more. I cant wait to trade in my cruiser to get one.
Sporty feel with great features

I've to say that, Toyota Prado, is accessible for both personal and professional use. and with it comes along a great comfort the engine respond accordingly, and its heaviness create safety on the road, mostly for family people.
Toyota Prado is a great car, I mostly love its live sports utility 4x4's. It's a magnificent car, and well known for safety and comfort. My dad owned of those few years ago. And it feel help a lot mostly if you are family man.
Now, if you do have kids, you've got to do the hard work of making sure that the car doors are well close or open, since the itself is quiet heavy. and another thing is its fuel consumption.

I love the safely aspect of this vehicle. We have three children under 5, and I love feeling safe driving this. Also another point was that alot of 4WD lacked enough space to fit 3 child safety seats across the back. We just manage, mind you one of our car seats is quite large, but its one thing to consider if you are in the same situation and need the space. Our model has 7 seats so that definitely comes in handy.
The Toyota Prado has been the best car I have bought. We test drove many within the same category and this was just the winner by f...Read more

Best 4x4 in its class.. quiet, smooth, powerful, capable. 40,000 Km on and nothing has needed to be done to the Prado apart from servicing. never missed a beat. 4.0 litre V6 is a pearler, smooth as silk and has bags or power and torque. The 5 speed auto is a perfect example of how an auto should be, smooth effortless shifts, no hunting and quiet.
Standard Tyres are a shocker, I changed mine to Cooper ATR's WOW!! what a difference. Air con struggles above 38 degrees but thats a known problem that TOYOTA AUSTRALIA have yet to cure.
Rear door is a nuisance but you get used to it.
No vechicle is perfect, the prado no different, but all the positives counteract the negatives.
An excellent vehicle at an excellent price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Great around town vehicle but must have reverse parking sensors. Standard tyres need to be changed. Has anyone changed to Coopers? Would love to hear how they compare. All in all after 3 years of owning this vehicle, I still love it and haven't found anything else I would want to trade it in for - not even an X5. Am interested in the new Lexus hybrid 4WD but haven't driven one and they are a bit smaller and not really in the same class.

I purchased about one month ago (new $58000 less trade), done three thousand kilometers... went over the great dividing range( 1100 hundred meters) pulling a 1550 kg caravan...too easy to forget it's there !...recommend for pulling power...most happy with it ....the 2006 has a less powerful engine so look for a 2007 Diesel not petrol.....check it out at the Toyota site .....
The three litre diesel turbo ....well built has nice solid feel, very good fuel useage 7.9lt per 100km Pulling a 1550kg van...!!
Can't think of any .....maybe the radio knob is a little too small thats all I can think of ...

Very impressed. Travelled 45,000 since December (6mths). The common rail turbo diesel generates heaps of power, 5 speed auto, transmission lock works great in the soft sand without letting the tyre pressure down (Factory tyres). Pulled 3.5t dual axel trailer over very steep dirt track without any probs. The Rover last year struggled (all 4 spinning going nowhere), the Nissan the year before was OK (lots of engine revs & set grass on fire at the top), Troopy 4.2 diesel had to use low range 1st but the Prado did it very easily sitting on abou...Read more
t 2,000 rpm (low range 3rd I think). Averaging about the published fuel economy (9.3 l / 100kms). Best was 8.7/100kms over 1480 kms (Highway) worst 12.7 with that trailer. Great fuel economy, gets up and goes (beats Holden/Ford V6's off the mark), quiet, comfortable for the long runs, great off road, big fuel tank. Radio reception (Sterio FM) works where other cars dont, big mirrors. Dickie seats are useless, no room if you above the age of 5. Auto box drops out of 5th gear for uphill grades where I would prefer the diesel to do the low down work. Carpet is a pain to clean, the sand sticks like glue.Similar opinion? The best of SUVs because it actually works in deserts of Dubai without any problems where BMW and Mercedes failed us, and great going over damavand rocky mountain touraine at unbelievable rigidity, again where both the Beemer and the Benz with stronger engines flunked. this was a real life test (not a magazine promotional ad paidby the manufacturer!)
Style, Power, Roominess, performance
Could have bit more space in the trunk, however in my opinion, all SUVs have this issue.

Have had my prado for 2.5 years and bought it brand new. Have only used Cooper ATR's. Have used it extensively off road and it is fantastic and also great around the city. Often have it fully laden with 7-8 people and my luggage pod full and it is still an easy drive. The 180 litre petrol tank is awesome and even better for those who choose diesel.
I have not had any issues with it whatsoever. I have have been rear ended twice and the only damage sustained with slight bumper damage whislt other two cars bonnets where completely crushed. Nice t...Read more

Absolutely awesome machine. I'm still in love with it, 2 years on. !!! Would advise anyone whose looking for a four wheel drive to test drive this vehicle. Apart from the above I can not fault it at all. Great for woman too :-) (If you boys would let them drive )
Comfrtable and easy to drive. I am a female and use it for Real Estate, as it looks great. Love the seating capacity. Plus it's terrific when I tow the van, you dont even know it's on the back. Great fun on the beach. An all round wonderful machine, that allows you to have a lifestyle. Sensational Toyota well done.
Its extremely thirsty. Dislike the fact that you cant adjust the bottom of my drivers seat. Also the rear door opens to the right. I think up would be much much better.

Reasonable offroad, a little more ground clearance would not go astray. Permanent 4wd a great asset on dirt roads. Compared to my previous car (Patrol) more comfortable and more ecomomical fuel wise, but less capable offroad.
Great fuel consumption. I get around 10l/100km consistently from the D4D diesel engine. Comfortable suspension. Low noise levels. Toyota has a reasonably good reputation. Good to tow with (Avan camper) Standard Cruise Control.
Service costs vary enormously between dealers - i was quoted almost $500 for a 20 000km sevice in...Read more
