Great functional car
This has been a great little car. Very economical to drive averaging about 6L per 100 klm when using 95 Octane petrol. Performance is also better using this type of petrol. Surprisingly it's quite roomy inside and back seat fits even my son easily - he's over 6 foot. Mechanically it has been a very sound car and would happily recommend it.

Cost-saving car
Toyota Yaris hatch is easy to drive and park, and also save money. The downside for Yaris, of course is the power. It is very hard during climbing. It is very comfortable for driving 1-2 hours. The 1.3-litre Ascent feels lively off the mark even in auto form and does the job around town, but needs a determined right foot at highway speeds and particularly on hilly routes in the country.

Perfect small car
I bought this car last month and I can't live without this lovely car. Even though it's a 1.3 Liter engine, it's enough for daily use and I drive it 40 kilometers per day. Car space is enough for daily shopping and even for moving. I use this car for commute and picking up my girlfriend.

Awesome small car for wifey
No one needs an introduction to Toyota they just keep on running and running..you have to sell it to get a new car.
Usually Toyotas are boring to drive but 2012 Yaris YRS has a lot to offer
Powered windows
Cruise control
Bluetooth speaker phone
We got the car service hand and have driven it for few days now..i will soon pass it onto my wife for driving around
Milage is good 6.9/100kms

Fantastic car!
Super reliable, comfortable, plenty of room for the size of the car. It also has great visibility and good fuel economy. Feels like it will go forever. Auto changes smoothly and it does everything asked of it. Will be looking at a new yaris in 3 years. Overall no complaints with this car! Also note its done 150k. Well built car

Great little car
The Yaris is economical, drivable, nimble, surprisingly comfortable, relatively quiet and reliable
The Yaris is not a performance vehicle in terms of torque, power or extreme handling. However, it can tow light loads.
The cup holders, seat folding and a range of other internal aspects are actually better than current model corollas. However, the 2006 model, as expected has a very old style stereo system. It is a cheaper car second hand than a corolla of the same vintage by a significant margin so depreciation was and perhaps is not good...Read more
for Yaris. That said, a point worth noting is that the all expensive 100K service is not expensive as it uses a timing chain not a belt (eg Corolla) and thus the chain will last the life of the car.. Overall, buy for the right price and enjoy trouble free if underwhelming performance.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Toyota is known to be reliable for a reason.
I have been driving a second hand MY2008 Yaris for 5 years and it is a really well build car. I only had to change the car battery once and the tires as it was getting worn out after 6 years since it was manufacture. Being a 7 years old car, the support is still great and there was 2 times when we sent the car for servicing at our local Toyota dealer and their system was able to pick up a recall for the car, nothing too serious, and get the part replace without any hassle. The car is still running smoothly and we will be trading it for a bigger...Read more
Toyota RAV4. At the end of the day, my family have own Toyotas and they have been very reliable. They may not be the nicest car or have the most features compared to their competitors nowadays, but it is a brand that I have come to trust. Therefore they deserve my 5 star for being reliable for the 25 years my other family members have been using Toyota as well.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

never a disappointment after driving for more than 8 years
I'm currently considering getting a new car so I though might as well do a review for my dear Yaris who served me well in the past years, taking me to work everyday, taking me on road trips with friends, moving me from one city to another, moving flat packed furnitures from Ikea back home... I have lots of good memory with this little car, which is my first car. It looks cute for a female driver, and I love the funky digital dashboard. Its compact size means it's easy to snuggle into a small parking spot. It does not have a big engine (meaning ...Read more
you‘ll find it work very hard to help you climb over a sloppy hill), but it's economic for my purpose of use, a little petrol goes a long way. It has lots of room inside, and the back seats can be put down to make even more room. It's time for me to say farewell due to the need of a bigger car for my growing family. I'll miss our memories together.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great small car. No useless features. More room than some competitors. Only let down by no cruise co
Great little car for driving around town, and even on the highway. I had a look at the Nissan Micra (great car also but perhaps slightly less room in the boot), Suzuki Alto (way too small) and Suzuki Swift (more expensive), and settled on the Yaris for 2 reasons - more boot space than similar competitors (and you can move the rear seat forwards if you need), and the fact that the dealer treated me like a professional and not in a blokey manner like the Nissan dealer when I was looking at the Micra.
Road noise is a bit louder than competitors...Read more
(the Micra is surprisingly quiet, and feels a bit better on bumpy roads) but not annoying by any means. There are plenty of storage compartments. Centre speedo doesn't take much getting used to. We now have 2 cars with a centre speedo (Ssangyong Stavic is the other)so no big deal. Digital speedo is good. More cars need this feature. I wish the car would make a noise when the fuel gets low, as the only warning you get is the last square flashing, and if you don't look at it you won't notice. Overall, nothing special but does the job for a good price and is almost bulletproof. Low fuel consumption (not best in class but perfectly fine), low running costs (low service cost), cheap spares, cheap tyres etc. I didn't like the original tyres (Dunlop), and have now changed them for Michelin Energy XM2's. They feel like they grip better, and seem quieter too. A few cons: it's a bit gutless. No real issues with this unless you live in an area with steep hills, or if your significant other wants to do a quick overtake and doesn't understand the concept of kicking the accelerator hard as far forward as it goes and as hard as she can to force a good downshift. An extra gear would be handy (4 speed conventional auto). The other major con is the lack of cruise control. For highway driving this is almost a necessity, especially since the accelerator in this car is rather sensitive. I notice the new model Yaris has cruise control, and the interior is a bit nicer, and the road noise a bit quieter. However, the downside to the new Yaris is all the really useful storage compartments are gone. Gain in some areas, lose in others. My only other criticism (of Toyota, not the car as such) is the requirement to service every 6 months or 10000km. I ignore this, use a good quality full synthetic oil and go to 12 months and may go further. I figure if a turbo diesel can go for at least 15000km/12 months and it is much harder on the oil than the simple Yaris, why should I change the Yaris's oil so frequently? I presume the requirement is only there because most dealers and service people will use the cheapest mineral oil. Don't skimp on the oil, and service less regularly.Similar opinion? 2005 3-door YRS
I bought this as my first car two years ago with just over 90k on the clock and it has been a fantastic little car. So easy to drive and cheap to maintain. It's been from Sydney to the Gold Coast and back a few times and was perfect. Everyone who drives it loves it. Definitely getting another Yaris when I'm ready for a new car.

great little car!
I bought this 2006 manual yaris 3 door hatch in queensland with 230000km
For only $1000 unregistered. The only thing wrong was the roof was faded.
Got a roadworthy certificate and nothing was wrong with it. So registered same day.
I drove it everywhere in brisbane for a couple of months. Then decided to drive it all the way from brisbane to perth. Went perfect. Drove up to 160km per hour. Passed trucks with ease. Really tough little car. Easy to drive. Fit alot of luggage so plenty of space. Now iam in perth and six months later still no problems.
Love my yaris

Very disapointed with around town fuel effiency- reason why we bought it. Took back to Toyota for there help (they were great) but they couldnt get it down around town either 6.1 on open rd and 7.8 around town- from memory did this in 2008 when we bought.
Very hard to keep to level speed. (wonder if this is only a complaint with the autos???) accelarator has no resistance just flops so you are constantly watching (along with all in car thanks to central dash) the speedo. For me it takes the...Read more

Great little car.
I purchased my Yaris Yrx (1.5L, 5 door manual), brand new late in 2007. Which makes it about 3 years that I've been driving the car. My previous cars were a Mazda3 (2004 model) and a Ford Tesla (1984 model).
The Drive.
The car is responsive (0-100km in... no idea) and is fairly stable for a small car on the road. You do feel the occasional bumps (not more then the Mazda3) but for a car of this size it's still smooth. Parking the Yaris is a joy, the places you can fit it into is surprising. It is a bit noisy on the inside especially on highw...Read more

Very economical getting approx 600kms/40L fuel, heaps of storage compartments, very safe with abs brake assist driver & passenger airbags, all the cool stuff power windows electric power steering drive by wire mp3 compatible cd player full digital display. Excellent runaround car or first car, highly recommended!!!!

Perfect - ticks in all boxes
Purchased new in 2009 from Toyota dealer. Never had a problem, now done 50k plus km, very economical to run and maintain, interior space exceptional for a small car. Easy to drive in city traffic but still handles a long trip without disappointment. Nicely designed and built for a car of this price and is better than some cars costing quite a bit more. Would buy again without hesitation but no need to as this one has got a lot of enjoyable life left in it.

Perfect City Hatch
I've never had an issue with this car. Not only is its design appealing to most people, it's also very cheap to run. I've never owned a more reliable car. Fuel efficiency is amazing. I've personally experienced no mechanical issues. Only down side is the small boot but hey, it's a hatch, you can't have everything :-).

Yes great car but...... Shame on you Toyota
My company's Yaris is a 2006 with around 178,000 on the clock. Apparently it has suffered a MAF (Mass Air Flow) malfunction. I am told by Maddils Toyota of Noosaville Quensland that the replacement cost of the MAF unit will be around $450.00 and that it will take about 1.5 hours (labour time) to replace it.
The reference is :

great car, excellent fuel economy, easy to drive and park
bought this second hand and it had some scratches but the engines and everything works great. the interior is more spacious than it looks, though the boot has very little space. I love that it has many pockets and compartments, especially in the front - and that the back seats are fully adjustable - you can push them forward to make more space in the boot. love the boot has a bottom hidden space for a spare tyre and tools. very very handy.

Passo lands here. Why you can ship them to UK but not Australia? So dont give an excuse its not viable! Oh yes and dont forget to send the Toyota hilux at cheaper rate that you are. They are sold in Malaysia for MYR100,000 and they sell in Australia for AUD 50,000 which equates to MYR150,000 so it seems you are making huge profits! Hi Natalie, Although I'm no expert it sounds like your problem may be electrical. Just another suggestion, if you are a member of the RACV they have a technical department who can give you advice might be worth a try. sorry for your trouble.

Or you could try comparing prices to other cars similar for sale in magazines or online sites such as gumtree Australia on the internet
