Disappointed
I recently purchased a TN10 wood heater, 1 week after installation I noticed the insulation mesh around the door just fell off! I took the door back to the shop that sold me the heater and they re-glued the corner which came off. When I got it back I lit a fire and the next day I noticed the mesh on opposite corner just fell off. I’m disappointed to say the least, I thought I was buying a quality heater from Canada but I got a dud. If you’re buying one making sure you check this defect with your supplier. NSW Central Coast

Stoked with this heater.
I recently installed at TN10 myself at our house on the NSW Central Coast in Australia. We reluctant to choose the TN10 because we thought it might be a little small, but we wanted to put it in a corner of the room, and we had very limited space to work with. The TN10 was pretty much the only heater that would fit. The first few times I fired it up it was pretty underwhelming, but I think the fire bricks might have been a bit damp because from the 3rd or 4th time we lit a fire in it, it's been great. We are using it to heat a space of probably ...
Read more64m2, but our house is poorly insulated and quite drafty. In a well-insulated house I reckon you could heat a much larger space. We've been getting around in T-shirts in the middle of winter. The one drawback is that the firebox is quite small (250mm wide from memory), so you need to cut your would a bit shorter than you would for most wood burning heaters. Also you need to clean out the ash pretty regularly. I have managed to restart the fire in the morning from the coals left behind, and we're not even burning super dense hardwood. I was pleasantly surprised with this heater and I'm getting great satisfaction from it. I would highly recommend it to anyone with limited space who is looking to heat a small to medium area.

The ineffective T10
Most efficient heater I’ve ever had .But it takes a very long time to heat our little 2.4x10 metre cabin, which is extremely well insulated and struggles when the temperature is at zero. The fire wood is dry as a bone. Can be frustrating first thing on dark cold mornings.I’ve had a few wood heaters, this one will not be staying.pete-Tasmania-Australia

Great heater and cook top
I have just had a TN 10 installed in a 5 meter by 10 meter room and it’s wonderful. I have had wood heaters before in other houses and this is the best by far. It burned all night with one log and the room did not drop below 21 while the outside temp went down to 2. And the cook top keeps a kettle on the boil. Cooked a lamb tagine on it last night. Could not be happier with this little wonder.

Huge disappointment with this modern expensive heater
Our ancient Morso pot belly casing split and had to be replaced, We took advice from the local specialist shop as we needed a small size heater to suit the space. The outcome was to change to a front loading Canadian manufactured item at great cost (with 50% on top for the installation, making the flue to fit). We are disappointed. Reasons:
1. It needs constant attention as it has a very small box unlike our old top-loading Morso 2. Getting good ignition requires the door to be used as an air inlet at times 3. Opening the stove leads to hot...

Hi SJP,
How big is the room you have it installed in?
Sounds like the heater is too small for you. Did you see it first hand when purchasing?
the TN is bigger than the 40+ yr old Morso heater it replaced after the Morso split so it has nothing to do with the size/capacity of heater. We saw it before buying and discussed with heating company...
Read more. Our only way of heating the room adequately is to leave the front glass open - which it explicitly states NOT to do - I guess because wood might fall out.. It is a total lemon. The physical size of the unit isn’t representative of the output though. The TN10 is rated for around 100m2
It is one of the smallest heaters on the market today. It sounds like you needed something ...
You are obviously using green unseasoned fuel. I'm using 3 year old Stringybark and Ironbark. Lights well and not a puff of smoke!
