Cannot fault this bank! Great online bank and amazing for overseas travel.
This bank has been nothing short of great from solving issues quickly, having an easy to use interface and being innovative. Cannot fault them or recommend them anymore! I have been with them for approx 6 months.

Excellent banking experience.
I've been with Up since about May 2022. The app is super efficient and easy to use and probably the most intuitive of most banks that I've used. Your bills and spendings are structured in an easy to view manner so you always know where your money is being spent and any upcoming bills that are due soon. You get handy reminders at the start of most weeks letting you know when your bills are due for the week and how much you spent the week prior compared to the week before that. I've had to contact customer service once or twice and they are professional, friendly, and quick to respond. They keep you in the loop with upcoming developments for the app and accounts. Very happy with the banking experience. Can't wait to do more with this bank.

Awful
Really bad customer service. Been trying to open a bank account for a few days and getting no support to do it at all as I don't have an Australian passport (but still a resident). Goes to 86400 instead, definitely.

Works well for our financial needs!
We have been with Up for 6 months. Up is the best digital bank I've used so far. Ive tried ubank which is nowhere near the features Up has. I've have tried almost all five of the major banks and everything is a hassle to like changing your address or simply sending a payment to a new person. But with Up is so much easier. We have moved all our banking to UP. From the notifications letting you know whats happening with your money everyday. And its easy to use app and easy to do everyday things too. Im just waiting for Up to do joint accounts wh...Read more
ich will be even better for us. We are making it work with sole accounts in the meantime. Communication is so easy too I have anxiety talking on the phone so the chat section works well. I don't know why people have to jump on product review to complain as soon as something goes wrong. Things happen it's a part of life and there's always going to be issues no matter which bank you are with. Try to look at the positives overall rather than giving negative review straight away and be patient.

Great online banking app
I love this bank because it has the best interest rate for savings, and I can separate my accounts into individual savings goals eg. Christmas, trip to Paris. It's very simple to use and transfer to/from and I've never had any issues. I've also referred some friends to them and we both received the $5 bonus!

Terrible
Joined a month ago, I though that the app is fantastic. Full of features and easy to use. However after doing grocery shopping after work one day and on going to the register to pay I found that I couldn't use my card. I had funds available and it kept saying declined. It was very embarrasing. I contacted them via the app and all they would say is they referred my enquiry to another department. I could not access my money until 24 HOURS LATER after spending over an hour on the phone. It was amateur hour not to mention having no money for 24 hours. AVOID!!!

The future of banking
Not a single complaint. The Up Roadmap on their website keeps you engaged with upcoming improvements. Customer service is super fast and friendly. The app is absolutely brilliant. It's made me love banking and managing my money, which I never thought would be possible.

Best Bank
Have been with UP since February. I love the tracking and with linking afterpay i can see when the repayments are due. I'm so thankful i opened this account and even convinced my sister to join and she uses it as her primary account. This bank is awesome.

Awesome Digital Bank!
Wasn't sure about the bank when I heard about it, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Ended up being super useful compared to my normal bank! It tracks every transaction you make, and even any changes to your account so you don't forget what has happened. Every time you buy something, it gives you a notification of where and how much was spent.
There is also a feature for your savings (comes with your account free; no need to sign up for two accounts) where you can "round up" to the next dollar up of your latest purchase and that amount gets sen...Read more
t automatically to your savings (eg. spend $10.75 and 25c gets sent to your savings). To transfer money from other bank accounts, you have the option to use PayID or enter Bank Details (BSB and Account No.). PayID is easy to set up, and transfers are pretty much instantaneous. Also when you receive your Debit MasterCard (which is also an awesome black and salmon colour), you have the option in your app settings to choose how you want to use the card. You can turn off the option to be able to make purchases online and in store, and choose whether you can make withdrawals from ATMs (free withdrawals from most major ATMs). If it helps as well, this is a collaboration between Bendigo Bank and Ferocia (software company), so it's developed by an established bank. Overall super happy so far, and is great for anyone wanting to go digital :)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Met these guys at PAX.
At first I wasn't so sure about it.
But after a week I decided it couldn't hurt to check out.
Very happy I did, Swapped all my stuff over.
Tell us how much I have spent, Where I spent it.
Very good for a young guy saving for my first place.

Great bank for the modern age
Been with this bank for 3-4 months now and really glad I moved. The app is the real highlight here, with cutting edge features comparable to the comm bank app. Every update the app additional features are added and the developers are very open for suggestions.

Best Bank & Banking Mobile App
Signed up on July 31st 2022.
So far I must say the experience has been excellent. The account sign up process was super easy, just had to install their mobile banking app from the Google Play store, enter some personal details, and within 5 mins I had a transaction account and a virtual master debit card added to my Google Pay wallet. Physical ATM card was posted out and received within 7 days, but this was not required to make in store purchases, as the Google Pay virtual card was usable instantly after sign up. How convenient!

makes Up Bank superior to other banks is their Mobile banking app. The amount of convenient functionality and features is highly useful and welcome. One of them being Push Notifications for all transactions. This can be disabled if you don't like this function, although when you get paid or when a bill has been debited, you are notified. Great for those who like to keep track of their expenses, where this ties in to their superior insights tracking...think of Pocketbooks. Merchant ID identification is also another welcome feature, which visually makes your account activity visually pleasing to look at with all the company icons displayed next to each transaction. Bill tracking and knowing when you next bills are due and how much is another feature I would have to use in a separate app to track my monthly bill expenses. Now I don't need to since its builtin with Up. There are many more useful features which I could write about. Up has been everything I've been looking for in a Bank in this digital age, where I have completely made it my sole primary bank account, closing off my other bank accounts, one with Suncorp and the other with Westpac.Similar opinion? Great Bank!
Up Bank is perfect for anyone who doesn't carry cash and pays everything by card. The app is very well built. Instant PayID payments seems to be better integrated than with other banks. Love the notifications and the message interaction with customer support.
The upcoming payments reminders is the best I have seen, and with the Afterpay integration you know exactly how much is coming out of your account on which day.
I use Up as my only bank and would highly recommend.

A bank created by software gurus, not bankers
I've used Up Bank for over 8 months now, and it just keeps getting better.
I've had next to no issues with reliability, easily able to transfer money in and out instantly using Payid. I've kept my Commbank account for getting my pay and sending out BPays and direct debits.
I use Up for everyday spending with their nifty debit card, usually through my Apple Watch/ iPhone. I also do all my transfers to friends from Up with their very nifty whatsapp-like pay anyone feature.
I really like the insights it gives you about the where/when/how much ...Read more
of what you spend. For example, it tells me I've made 100 transactions with Uber since December, averaging $12 each. The round-ups and ability to make as many high interest saving accounts as you want is also a cool feature. When I've had issues/bugs I've raised it in the app in the support chat feature and staff seemed responsive.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Up Bank is a joke
I decided to open an account with Up bank because I heard endorsements about how great this bank is and how hassle free their process is. So I decided to open one up. I was first asked to upload some form of Government ID. After 3 iterations where I uploaded my Drivers License, Passport and Medicare card details which are legitimate, perfectly acceptable forms of ID at every other place, the app returned an error stating it cannot identify me and so essentially to bugger off. I emailed their support email handle and that was another joke. The e...Read more
mail re emphasised the same thing, without so much as a check back to see what these forms of ID were. I got a generic cannot help you response with no help whatsoever. Wasn't even asked to send ID to check what the reasons were. Their Customer service waiting times are ridiculous. I was told that if I get a generic response stating no account can be opened, that all they can really do which is nothing. The agent was cold, unresponsive and literally wanted me off the phone the minute he started talking to me. Its great to have a cool app and a 3 step process that's not cumbersome, but if your processes cannot cater for outliers and there is no recourse, sorry, you are not a bank. You are this extremely unreliable startup that I would never trust my money with, if that's the attitude you are going to take in the name of "customer service". #upbank #definitelynotabankSimilar opinion? Best of the best, and the best is yet to come.
Can’t rate this bank highly enough. Transparent, excellent communication about issues (rarely required). Regular releases of functionality. Sign up is a breeze (transacting in minutes).
Budget tracking is far ahead of the other banks (including comm bank), reoccurring expense tracking. Better merchant descriptions, better merchant descriptions. Instant transactions.
Can’t wait for joint accounts and BPay. Will be my main bank once these features come.

Security flaws amongst others
I have two accounts with Up, mine and my husbands. They are not linked, and we do not share any name. I was having issues with my account and accidentally removed the account from the app. I called their support line on my husbands phone but made sure to say my name and told them the issue. The person told me to reset the app and start the process again. She said she would need to delete the account entirely. All good. No questions asked.
Went to restart the app and the same issue came up... the person had not deleted my account. I realised th...Read more
en that the support person had cancelled my husbands account because of the phone number attached to it. This person did. Or ask any security questions at all! Just cancelled it and even when I said my name and the account has a different one. This was shocking and appalling. The person on the phone just giggled and said whoops. Doesn’t seem like the people running this app have any kind of idea about the security required or are at least training their staff properly. Aside from this I have had issues with other things, their customer support is not 24/7, and they regularly close the app for maintenance and you can do anything.. will be changing mine and my husbands bank.Similar opinion?
