Hi, I just need something to exercise, improving the whole body movements, concerning that my lower back is causing me problems (five disks bulged). From your experience, would that machine cause me some more negative effects regarding my condition?

Vitality 4 Life
Vitality L.Vitality 4 Life

Hi Sergei, if you are cleared by your doctor to perform strength and cardiovascular training/vibration machine training then this form of physical activity has been shown to be helpful in reducing back pain. A recent study published in the Journal of Physical Therapie Science by researchers at the Daejon University, Republic of Korea, showed that whole body vibration exercises mixed with lumbar training (30 minutes a day, 3 times a week) can significantly reduce back pain - you can find more information on this study here - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25931735.

We also recommend to minimise risk by exercising in moderation. If you’re unsure of how often to exercise, speaking to a fitness expert and your doctor may help. Regards, V4L

Can these machines cause brain damage? I've read a number of articles that point to an scientist who stated that amongst other things, vibration plates can cause damage to the brain. And do these plates oscillate from side to side,or up and down? Thank you.

I've read that as well...I would say that on lower vibrations there should be no problem. Keep knees slightly flexed to reduce the vibration of the head and upper back. The motion is side to side.

Hi 'missSydney',
Our bodies were made for movement and we have absorbed vibrations via various forms of daily activities throughout our whole lives. There is no conclusive scientific research on the long term effect of vibration machines on the brain, however like with many fitness machines, prolonged exposure is not recommended. The total amount of time spent on a vibration plate should not be extensive therefore you are not exposing your brain to a high level of vibrations. We advise training no longer than 20 minutes, approximately 3 to 4 times a week.

With regards to how these machines move, we can confirm that the VibroSlim Vibration Machine’s platform does oscillate (side to side). Please contact our Customer Service Team on 1800 802 924 if you have any further queries, they would be happy to help - V4L

Vitality L.Vitality 4 Life

Hi Jen,

Thank you for your enquiry. While we would definately recommend the VibroSlim for pre and post natal exercise, we do not recommend vibration training to pregnant women, due to the lack of research on the subject. You could discuss with your doctor, however generally shaking types of vibration aren't recommended during pregnancy. We wish you a very happy and safe pregnancy, and please get in touch if you have any queries in the future. V4L

Hi Julz,

Like you, I am a user...not a seller. My Vibro-Slim Ultra can only be set for 10 min. Max. There is a reason for this. I would assume that any more than 10 mins.at a time may be detrimental, more is not necessarily better. I only do 10 mins. three times a week and notice a benefit. I've noticed that some do 10 in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. Best ask the experts at Vitality 4Life!

Hi Julz, thanks for getting in touch. While you can set and manage your speed and length of time using the manual mode, we can confirm that the VibroSlim Ultra does have a maximum set program time of 10 mins. We have found that a 10 min workout is usually sufficient when using our vibration machines, however if you do require further time you can reset the program for another 5 or 10 mins.

Hi Rachel, apologies for the late reply. Our VibroSlim Vibration Machines operate at 50-/60Hz. As each person’s body and injuries are unique, the frequencies that are best for you will depend on your body type, your level of fitness and your desired outcomes. There are studies which has shown that this form of physical activity has been shown to be helpful in reducing back pain. By applying vibration to the soft tissues of the body such as the muscles, the body will loosen and relax the muscles, manage pain, improve circulation and relieve stress and tension associated with muscle spasms. A recent study published in the Journal of Physical Therapie Science by researchers at the Daejon University, Republic of Korea, showed that whole body vibration exercises mixed with lumbar training (30 minutes a day, 3 times a week) can significantly reduce back pain. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25931735). Minimise risk by exercising in moderation. As you have an existing injury then we recommend you are cleared by a doctor to perform vibration machine training. Kind regards, V4L

Hi there, I'm just wondering if this machine would have any benefit on the lymphatic system?
Thanks
Hayley

1 answer
Vitality 4 Life
Vitality L.Vitality 4 Life

Hi Hayley,

The lymphatic system doesn't naturally have a 'built-in' pump to drive the the flow of fluids through the body and relies purely on the muscles to stimulate this movement. Strengthening the muscles and increasing their ability to trigger proper drainage is is one of the best ways to help regulate the lymphatic system.

Just like exercise, vibration machines primarily cause the muscles to contract (tighten) and relax. However, a vibration machines triggers this literally hundreds of times per minute. This has an incredible effect on the muscles, strengthening them at a faster rate than typical weight training. Stronger muscles and the process of contraction and relaxation will "pump" the lymphatic system to circulate fluid more effectively, so we would believe that vibration training, in the same way as exercise, would be of benefit to those with lymphatic issues.

We hope this helps, we recommend consultation with your doctor prior to embarking on any new exercise regimes and this is our advice only. Please let us know if you have any further questions! V4L

Hi Wendy, if you go into the Vitality 4 Life website you will see that there is loads of information on the Vibro-Slim Ultra. The normal price was $429.00 with a $30.00 discount code which brought it down to $399.99 and a free gift was included. Another great thing is that they ship for free! I've had absolutely no problems with mine and use it 3 times a week for 10 minutes at a time...there are no strange sounds or anything else. They have a three year warranty and if some thing went wrong you should contact them (they are in Byron Bay NSW) and they will give you the details as to what you need to do. I'm very happy with mine and would say it is suitable for all ages. When using, be sure to have your knees slightly flexed ( this helps to reduce vibration of the head and upper back) and keep tummy tucked in for core strength. If you have any questions or concerns you can always "chat" on their website. Hope this helps! By the way I watch the morning news when using mine and there is absolutely no interference on the TV as some have mentioned.

One of the great things about our vibration machines is they are suited to a wide variety of customer of different ages, body shapes and fitness levels. Vibration technology is similar to exercise in that there is generally no age limit. Generally speaking we recommend from 12 years old and up to whenever you feel comfortable and stable on the machine at lower speed levels. We have elderly customers who use and love their machines and it has enabled them to get moving again. The machines are also rated up to 125kg max user weight, so is really suited to a wide range of body shapes.
As Connie mentioned the machines come with a 3 year complete warranty, and as you can see from the reviews on both the VibroSlim Ultra machines our customers are using their machines free from any issues. We are Australian owned and operated and have a complete product service centre in Byron Bay with specialised service technicians who are on hand to assist should you have any queries. Does this burn calories? If so, does it tell you how many? How many are burned roughly in a 15/20 min session.

1 answer
Vitality 4 Life
Vitality L.Vitality 4 Life

Hi missSydney,

That is a great question and much research has actually been conducted on this subject and similar weight loss related topics. When standing on a vibration plate the muscles in the body are basically contracting and relaxing multiple times per second to keep the body stable in a similar way to tradional exercise however in a much more accelerated fashion. In the same way that traditonal exercise and stregth training builds muscle mass, so too does vibration training through this contraction/relaxation of the muscles. In fact, a vibration plate will use up to 90% of the body's muscles at one time, so is very effective at building full body muscle mass. The weightloss results are primarily achieved through this strengthening of the muscle fibres, and then the subsequent increase in energy required for the muscles which burns more calories and fat, even in a resting state. Muscle burns more energy than fat, so the lower the body fat percentage and higher the muscle mass, the better for calorie burn.

Calories burned per session is dependant on a number of factors including personal weight/height/body composition, but also on the type of excerises being done on the vibration plate during a workout. For obvious reasons, a dynamic or aerobic workout on a vibration plate will burn more calories and build more muscle mass than simply standing or sitting on the plate. With those factors in mind, there has been some estimations that you can burn anywhere between 200-500 calories per hour. So during a 15 minute session, you could expect to burn 50-125 calories. That would be a rough estimate only, but hope this helps, we have also written a blog post on the subject of Vibration Machines and weight loss here: http://www.vitality4life.com.au/blog/healthy-lifestyle/power-of-vibration-machines-for-weight-loss/

It is not pivotal. It is stationary and oscilates. It's got a bunch of programs that I haven't experimented with yet. I stand, plank, sit and stretch on it to Speed 4. It goes higher but that seems about right for m body

Vitality 4 Life
Vitality L.Vitality 4 Life

Hi JoJo,

The VibroSlim Ultra is an oscillating platform machine that has a base plate with a centre fulcrum point and a platform that rises at one end while the other end lowers. This movement mimics the motion of human legs when walking and engages the hips and lower back in the motion. The amount of lift or drop (the amplitude) on the platform is very short and although it may not seem like much, this distance is reaching the maximum limit of movement that a fast twitch reflex muscle is capable of moving.

This movement will maximise the amount of fat burning calories that the fast twitch reflex muscle is capable of burning. This movement not only creates a fast twitch in the muscles in the legs, but also throughout the hips, back, and waist area. The speed settings are typically measured in hertz (Hz) which is how many times per second the platform will travel from highest point through lowest point and back to the highest point again. The VibroSlim Ultra has ‘speed’ settings of 1-20 Hz.

Please let us know if you have any other questions about these wonderful machines.

Kindest regards
Team Vitality 4 Life
