Don't believe the price, they might not sell it to you!
I bought a Thermos Container last night from castle hill, on the price tag, it says the original price was 25 and down to 18.95, when I went to Check out, the cashier said the system showed it was 19.95, and had someone checked the price, since that's the last one, there was nothing to compare with,she refused to sell it to me as the marked price.
I understand that for a thing worth 300, it's impossible to give me as 10 dollars, but with 1 dollar difference no one would bother change the sticker.

Speedy delivery! Accurate product
I was really apprehensive after reading bad reviews here but I could not find the things i wanted, somewhere else at a better price. Finally I gave in to the temptation! fingers crossed. The online order process was very smooth and the delivery was super fast. I even received continuous updates from auspost about when my order was due. Will order items for my kitchen again hopefully. Their prices are really good. I'm based in Melbourne so its a shame a can't visit any of their stores. Thanks Victoria's basement, I love my new Benzer cookware!

Just terrible online policies
In this online purchase I bought two things - an Oneida cutlery set and a set of cheapie steak knives. The postage was comparatively expensive in the online world - especially given that most companies have deals with delivery/post companies so they get wholesale prices. The cutlery set arrived badly damaged (a manufacturing fault) and I was able to send it back reply paid. But because I had bought two things they didn't refund any postage costs.

eir original cost. I would never ever have paid that much postage if it were not for the cutlery set. I am left with some really cheap quality steak knives and a feeling that I never want to shop with Victoria's Basement again!

Do not shop online
We bought a set of plates online but it looked different then the picture on the website when arrived. We went to Victoria's Basement Alexandria to get a refund and they refused to offer a refund saying we have "changed our mind" even thought the picture did not Mach the item. Poor customer services. We were forced to spend that money on something else as they didn't want to give us a refund for false advertising. Be careful when shopping online

Excellent service, great products and best prices

Lack of customer service
Purchased an item I have been looking for a while. Went home and tested the item and realized that it was of an acceptable quality. Went back to the store and asked for a full refund; they denied it. Spoke with the person in charge with no results either. They just wanted to keep the money to themselves, like the Hot Dollar shops. Too bad since they have lost a recurring customer. Quite disappointed.

Poor Service, didn't deliver product
I made a purchase online two weeks before Christmas. The order never turned up. I was first told via email that it was delivered to the wrong address and they would send a replacement. Two days later I was told that I was somehow able to order my things when there wasn't actually any stock. I asked for a refund. It's now been six weeks since my original order and I'm still waiting for my refund. My emails are now not even answered. Would not use again.
Good customer service at first, but when things went wrong, emails were no longer answered and calls not taken.

Poor service
I purchased a set of mixing bowls online as a Christmas present. My credit card was charged the same day. After two weeks of hearing nothing and no change to the status of my order I sent a query through their web site link. No response to that. Another week later i sent another query and received no response. Finally I sent an email asking for a refund and was told that my goods were with "Toll" and they had tried to deliver them.

Buyer Beware!
I bought/ordered an item through the online store. When the item never arrived I emailed customer support and was informed that the item is out of stock! I was annoyed no-one had contacted me, but that's life, so I just asked to be refunded. It has now been 3-4 weeks and still no refund. I have emailed several times and been assured with every response that I will be refunded straight away, but no refund. It's pretty ridiculous that they will take your money for an item they don't have, won't contact you to tell you if the item is unavailable, and will then mess you around with the refund. I went to purchase a few items at the Alexandria store. When I got to the till, the items were rung up and I signed my card receipt, I realised that the knife I chose was not on sale (tho the whole range was labelled "all 70% off") so asked the shop assistant if I could return it (without realizing their "no-refund policy").. within seconds she was rolling her eyes and giving me attitude saying there is no refund for "change of mind". Fantastic service!
I recently ordered a whole lot of Nigella and general cooking items from Victoria's Basement online. I was initially nervous, as i have never previously ordered fragile cooking items online before, just clothing, toys etc. But I received everything without incident, and with everything intact (everything had to travel 6 hours across the State to get to me). I think their prices are extremely cheap, compared to other vendors, and i will always check their website out first, before using anyone else. Why pay more if you don't have too? I love that i can go shopping in my pyjamas when the kids are in bed!

Poor customer service
Recently purchased a dinner set for a wedding gift allowing four business days for delivery.
When VB did ship it via Toll/Ipec the local area driver kept trying to deliver the item to the wrong townhouse in our block of three.
I only found this out after chasing up where the item got to.
After two days of waiting in I told the courier company to send it back to VB, I requested a refund and purchased another item elsewhere.

Horrible
I bought an expensive saucepan with a10 year warranty. It didn't function as advertised and as the sales person claimed. The shop wasn't helpful in warranty claim and the owner was extremely rude and aggressive. I could write pages and pages of the miserable experience I have had with the shop but I reckon you should also take action to defend your rights, for example, you can lodge your complaints to your states' Fair Trading Department.

Very Happy
I ordered a Kitchen Aid 5 piece cookware set plus a couple of extras on line, then I found the reviews, which made me a bit concerned. However, I was emailed confirmation of the order and a tracking option with Auspost. This was on Tuesday 9th July 2013. We live on the Gold Coast. On Monday 15th July big box arrives, nicely packaged and all my ordered items within. So they turned that around in 4 working days. Good Job, very impressed!

Poor online service
Tried calling them but line engaged. I tried emailing them but no reply for over 2 days. So I tried calling them again and managed to speak to someone who told me that she will get back to me in 10 minutes. I called them back after waiting for 4 hours and the person told me that shes forget to do it and didn't bother helping me. Very disappointed and will never buy anything from them again!!

Awful customer service dont trust them
I bought a wedding present on line, it was the wrong colour, they didnt have the right colour and refused to refund my purchase (i was happy topay the postal cost after all it was my mistake) all they would offer was an exchange. Do not risk it buy elswhere I fully recommend Peters Of Kensington they refund without question.

Terrible service! Shocking customer service.
I bought two boxed crockery sets - different cups in them when I got home. Upon return to the store the manager told me she was not prepared to open more than two boxes to match my purchase! She was rude, loud and it was an embarrassing experience! I will not return to the store.
The goods in the store are well priced.

Great online service!!!
Bought quite a number of items online. Was a tad worried after reading some negative reviews.. But all is well! One item was a little scratched, but staff (by name of Simon) was quick to resolve it. I live in WA and he offered an exchange with return postage fully covered. Fantastic service! Quick response too. And amazing prices. Will buy again online!

overall I'd recommend the store if you know what you want and are willing to wait for a good price to be advertised, don't buy from high street stores if you can buy it cheaper from victorias basement... unless you can get them to price match or victorias basement is out of stock.
they have discounted prices on a huge range of items that are more expensive at many high street stores
