Hello Sally,
Thank you for your question.
Yes, we offer stopover program to our passengers, which includes hotel, meals, excursion, transfers and even visa for most tickets. (certain limits exist on promotional fares)
This service is free of charge, however it should be booked at least 48 hours in advance and you need to provide your passport details.
If your travel agent has any questions regarding this service, - we are more than happy to explain - he just needs to contact us. .

we are flying 2 adults and one 8 year old child this weekend from Melbourne to Ho chi Minh before continuing to Paris. We ordered kosher meals and now they tell us it is not available. This is really not acceptable. Also we were told the seats are 2,4,2 and we booked the front premium economy to find out we are scattered all over and seating is 2,3,2...I would like someone to provide a solution to our problem please. thanks

Good luck !!!!, Vietnam airlines only offer empty apologies and nothing else. My wife and I had a horrendous experience 2 months ago with them, it bordered on racism. Only to get a we are sorry and hope you have a better experience next time. There will never be a next time, I advise no one to fly Vietnam airlines ever.

Hello Ariella,
Thank you for your request. Its hard to say anything as I do not see your reservation.
Please note, for future services you need to kindly contact your travel agent where you purchased your tickets and request to book your seats. Alternatively, you can login your reservation at our website and choose available seats 24 hours before departure.
Regarding meals, we do not offer Kosher Meals from Australia, We are sorry about that. We can offer vegetarian meals instead (they do not violate Kashrut, however we do not guarantee that kitchen equipment that we use was never in contat with milk or meat). If you are very careful about keeping kosher. you will need to take care about your own food.
Please note, Kosher food may be available on your flight from Paris to Vietnam, it should be requested by your agent in advance.

I’m flying economy, Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City. It says my meal is included. Will I need money for drinks etc.?

No, drinks should be included. VN Airlines is great when it comes to providing food and drink in the cabin.

They just suck at not making last minute changes to people’s schedules.

Agree with Brain L - they are a "full service" airline, not a budget carrier. No need to buy anything on board. Only issue sometimes is finding the crew to help you - so don't be afraid to get up and walk to the galley to look for them.

I could not get on to the airline to book a hotel. I was business class and should have been able to qualify for one. I booked my own hotel and did not do a tour.
The air line will not reply to my question re the difference in service between Hamburg and Ho Chi Minh and the leg from H C Mimh to Melbourne. Very rudeand arrogant in my opinion. Granda

Thank you for your answer.I thought business class was eligible for hotel.
I think VNA is not a very good option.

Why not Andy ? . I did not get what I paid for. I also did not get any answer to my question 'Why the big difference in food and service between the flight from Hamburg to Ho Chi Minh city and the flight between Ho Chi Minh and Melbourne.' Not good enough for
an international carrier.

When are Vietnam a Airlines going to get rid of the horrible, aged, 777 used on Sydney - HCMC -Sydney flights. I travel business class and would get just as much comfort in economy. These planes are outdated, nothing works. I feel sorry for the staff who have to do running repairs each trip. It is not worth the time saved by flying direct.

I agree, I also had a horrible uncomfortable flight on their 777, see my review, one thing I forgot to add the toilet smelt incredibly strong of stale urine, early into the HCMC to Sydney flight I had to hold my breathe to even use the loo. Worst toilet I have ever smelt,

I agree entirely. Toilets stank and were in short supply. No service. The steward could not make a cup of English tea

Flight is ok, you have entertainment (Movies, TV channel, Music etc) ..but crew don't speak English that well and don't sound very friendly (But I think its just because their poor English, in general flight is pleasant)...its the airport and airport staff are shit as possible as you can think. If you going to Vietnam, its ok to use Vietnam airlines. But if you transiting ..don't even think about it, they will make your life hell. (They don't know what is transit ...they will ask you and make you do all the formality as if you going inside Vietnam, which includes make you take a visa, ask you for visa fee, ask you 2 copy of passport size photo ..fill up 2 page long form go to security check, take your Bags and re-check etc etc etc )

There are many entertaining games onboard; "Name that Smell," "Chair Bingo" (Find 3 chairs with matching upholstery,) and my favourite "Find the Hostess."

You can also work your abs, because your chair back is busted yet they insist you keep it in the upright position.

Seriously, having in lived and worked in Viet Nam, if I had to sum up the Viet people in one word, it would be "resilient." They can patiently put up with the worst of conditions and still bounce back.
If you expect even the standard of service you would receive on a 3rd rate budget airline in Indonesia, then you will be sorely disappointed with Viet Nam Airlines. Their point of view is that you are privileged to fly on their airline, the concepts of customer service and fostering consumer loyalty are completely alien to them.
You cannot blame the staff, it is simply the way things work in Viet Nam.

They did when we travelled with them, unlike AirAsia X where you have to purchase the use of a blanket as an add on. Hope you enjoy Vietnam and the differences between North & South, lovely people.

Yes they did provide pillows and blankets. Also checkout optiontown for various upgrade options or choices.
