Lovely little car
LOVE this car so much! It's such a joy to drive and easy to navigate. There is plenty of space within the car without it being super bulky. It has great speed and great modifications. I am very tall so get very uncomfortable on long drives but the Tiguan is super comfy and added bonus that it looks super smart too. :)

VW Tiguan.. great when working but a nightmare when not!
I bought my 2009 Tiguan 3 years ago.. and I have to agree with the others reviews...When a problem occurs (and inevitably it will), parts and servicing are EXTREMELY expensive. It’s a difficult job for your local mechanic without the specialised diagnostic equipment. Off to the VW dealer. Several weeks and a few thousand dollars later and The same type of issue ... different faults. VW Tiguans really are the motorists worst nightmare! Don't risk it. Stay away from this VW like the plague.

Love the Tiguan
Bought a 2015 model a month ago and it is an absolute pleasure to drive. I love it. Smooth and quiet, powerful yet economical. Its roomy inside but not an overly big car. i am apprehensive about the cloth trim on the door armrests - i think they will get grubby in time, but otherwise no complaints at all.

VW Tiguan 2014
40,000 km on the clock and so far, so good. Coming from (a lemon of) a Jeep Cherokee, this is a dream. Only thing missing is off-road capability. Fuel consumption is great, approx 700-800km/tank, service costs fixed price and reasonable, although more expensive from dealer than local mechanic. This SUV is a good size, comfortable and well finished.

Not a bad SUV
Had this car for two years, its done 20,000 km, very easy to drive and has performed good, the economy has been ok, I know this car is subject to recall for the current diesel program upset, so I hope the economy stays as is. My only grip is the limited cargo/boot area, its pretty small and I understand this has been corrected in the latest model (2017). It hugs the road well, very little noise on the road and the AWD is good, except the diesel is a bit slow to respond when you need it for overtaking or quick entry onto the highway. There is plenty of room inside and the steering wheel controls are well placed to keep your eyes on the road and not searching for buttons or knobs.

Early days... But I love it
2.0L Diesel High Line. Fuel economy is comparable to the 2011 2.0L Diesel wagon it replaced, which is great because I was expecting an all wheel drive to cost more at the bowser. The stop start technology is counter-intuitive to the auto braking system which is annoying... I hope that VW can come up with a software update to the engine management system that addresses this. With all of the sensory equipment already in place, blind spot indicators would have been nice. I broke a headlight protector on the first wash, within days of purchase...Read more
and had to buy two to replace it which seems wasteful. Like my previous two 'dubs, the Tiguan is sturdy and is finished to a high standard. I expect it to fare well as it's predecessors have. Setting the small issues aside, it is shaping up to be a great car...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
