NOT a reliable car at all

published

Bought this car brand new from VW Wangara WA in 2014 for 38000. sold in 2018 for 12000. Second-hand value took a dive after warranty expired. The maintenance is very high range from 500-900 every time and lack of feature. at 97000KM the engine start getting rough so I took the car for check and apparently the DSG gear is worn out!! to fix the problem will cost 2000!!!!!!!!!! so guys, do not buy this car regardless if this is a German engineering and 5 star safety rating. for the money I spend, you can easily get something much more from that. This is my lesson.

Purchased in April 2021 for A$38,000.00.

Great car

published

The body is sturdy, it’s not a tin box like other cheaper SUVs. It has excellent pickup and responsive braking and steering.

My one criticism is the boot space. It’s barely enough to fit a large stroller. Add shopping to that and you are putting groceries all over your passenger seat and in the foot well. However, it’s a trade off I would take over having a big, slow, ugly SUV or people mover (eek!).

Oil guzzler

published

I have a 2014 132TSI the first 12 months the car was great, arrange to get it serviced, everything has been great, after its first service 7 months and I'm getting warnings no oil, serviced again drive 5,000km and the engine has already used half of its oil, the oil is dark and dirty, again I contact VW am told the engine has run in and it's normal to use a lot of oil. They then tell me if I want it checked I have to pay $154 for an oil consumption test. This car is still under warranty. so I'm not to expect to get 12 months out of my engine oil. This is disgusting, will never buy another VW

Great Drive

published

For a compact 4x4 wheel it is very comfortable roomy and frugal on petrol. Cannot fault its performance, handling and noise level. It is easy to get in and out of and safe too. Great for towing a lightweight Caravan. There is lots of baggage space. Just love this Tiguan.

Luxury compact 4WD

published

We were able to purchase a 22,000km, 2013 132TSI manual 4-motion Pacific that was in v/g condition.
Would have preferred auto, as the manual is a little awkward to use at times. Tiguan is quite a luxury ride and is exceptionally quiet. Performance is good, though thirsty if you give it too much stick. Has been trouble free and shows no sign of being anything else. I think it is top of it's class.

Purchased in February 2021 for A$22,000.00.

Top SUV - Great Fuel Economy - Beautiful to drive

published

Typical German Car - We have the 2 litre petrol turbo - built well - solid on the road, drives like a sports car, had ours for almost a year, we bought ours from Bryan Bert in Capalaba - service from them has been outstanding. I love the sports mode - holds gears and changes appropriately for sporty driving - handling is pretty good for a SUV. Great Gadgets too - I think the navigation system was a waste of money as an option though - but all the other options were worth while such as the HID head lights, electric seats etc.
Fuel economy, quality, divability
In car factory navigation system could be easier to use.
