Great car, counting 200,000 kms and still strong
My car is counting 7 years now and the only issue I ever had was a fuel sensor
These cars are also extremely easy to service requiring only basic tools and a 36mm socket
Also considering the vehicle has over 300hp it’s very good on fuel averaging around 9.2L / 100km
I hope the new ones prove to be as tough as I’m interested to upgrade
Purchased in January 2021 for A$28,000.00.

XC60 T6 - 5 Star Lemon with knocking noise as characteristic.
Purchased a 2013 Volvo Technik T6 in July 2013 after lots of research. Within 10mins from driving away from dealers i noticed a very obvious "knocking" noise coming from front of vehicle. It sounded something suspension related. I called the dealer immediately who instructed me to return vehicle on Monday. I returned vehicle to dealership on the Monday and road tested vehicle with Service Technician. We didn't drive 100metres before he acknowledged there was a problem. Dealer then proceeded to "strip "car apart looking for problem. The car sta...Read more
yed there for a week where i was in constant contact with Service Manager who stated they had " no idea" what the problem is. Dealer called me a week later to say vehicle was ready for collection and they found the heater hose was expanding when hot and rubbing on suspension??? I collected vehicle and within 10mins again noticed ' knocking' noise from front of vehicle. I called dealer back again and they instructed me to return vehicle next week. I returned vehicle and again road tested with a Service Technician. He acknowledged problem again. Vehicle was left again and stripped down. A week later dealer told me they were referring it to Volvo in Sweden. Surprise Surprise Volvo came back as knocking noise being a "characteristic" of the vehicle. What the ?? Hard to imagine dealer spending 2 weeks labour plus parts stripping down car if they thought it was a "characteristic". I had an indépendant licensed mechanic and a mechnical engineer both acknowledge there is a knocking noise and file reports to state that it was reasonable to think a knocking noise would not be a characteristic with a $65k Volvo. I took Volvo and the dealer to the consumer claims tribunal. They pretty much threw all the evidence out and said i needed acoustics engineers reports etc and said they had no case to answer. I promised my wife prior to the CCT hearing whatever the result i would let it be. So im stuck with a $65k Volvo lemon with a knocking noise. I will be keeping it 3yrs and absorb a bit of the loss but i tell everyone i know, i would never ever again buy a Volvo. What a Lemon.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
