Perfect for picnics
Portability and consistent cooking are 2 good things about this bbq. I love my bbq comes out, and how easy to carry everytime we go for a picnic. No need for my to get in line for the park bbq stoves. I recently bought the hot plate for breakfast during camp and best ever, make sure though that the hot plate has been heated for a while.

Second one I've bought, great for caravan travel
I use this all the time when travelling in the caravan. I cook the normal BBQ meat etc and small roasts and recently have been cooking cakes, bread, scones and pizzas. There are heaps of online resources for recipes and cooking tips. Webers are not the cheapest but there's one outside almost every caravan you see so they're popular due to their versatility and reliability. They are also very easy to clean, just heat up and use a wire brush to clean the grill plate.

Out of this world customer service
Companies like this deserve to be praised. I've has my Baby Q for at least 5 years and the auto ignition gradually got harder and harder to start and eventually stopped working. Change the battery and cleaned the terminals but still no good.
Emailed Customer service Shayne on Wednesday, FREE replacement ignition kit was at my door by Friday.
Just installed in on a Saturday and my Baby Q is back to life again,
Absolutely brilliant in today's corporate climate of cutting costs, overcharging and offshoring.
Well done Weber !!
You have a customer for life.

This BBQ is super easy to use, purchased with the inclusion of the flat cast iron grill plate. This is smooth on one side, with grill lines on the other. This has been used many times, propane has been only changed once during relocation. A+ Would highly recommend. Perfect for a small family

Awesome BBQ
Great little BBQ to have at home or taking out to to the park. Very lite to carry, and does not take up much space. can cook a large meal for more than just a family. Safe to use and economical when using a bottled gas. Haven't had to refill bottle for over a year compared to our old jackaroo which would be at least 3 times. So simple to use by turning the gas valve on and clicking ignition button and cooks fairly evenly around the plate. Has to be the best Gas BBQ that I have ever purchased.

We bought ours secondhand, it has built in thermometer in the lid. Brilliant, never use our built in barbie anymore. Cooks the best steaks and salmon steaks. We will be updating to a larger model in due course. Great for just the 2 of us, a bit of a challenge with the family.

That says it, this is perfect I can't live without It! I cook my breakfast on it, bacon eggs mushrooms and tomatoes in fifteen minutes, clean it and put it away in 5! That's quicker than cooking and cleaning up in the kitchen.
Best thing since sliced Bread! It also cooks the best, tenderest steak.

The baby of the family does ok
I use this thing almost weekly. Far too expensive to buy but I'd still buy it again. I use my Baby for roasting almost exclusively now. It's not good for huge roasts but up to 2kgs or so it does good work. Get yourself a thermometer. It will get smoke stains all over it and the weber stain remover is a joke.

g is better. I find that it's better to buy the thermometer and go by the heat of the meat. I've cooked a couple of kilos of pork on a weekly basis and I've found that the longer the better when it comes to pork. No work addition.Just an update after using this for nearly 6 months now on an almost weekly basis. I've done mostly pork but also beef and lamb - all as roasts. The unit still works well. ses a lot less gas than a 2 burner traditional bbq. The only thing is that it gets rather smokey looking. The super special specifically formulated cleaning solution that is also super-expensive at almost $15, is about as effective as it is expensive. Most weber forums will tell you that half the allure of this thing is the well-worn mystique that it acquires after a few months. While ongoing preheats and postheats can burn off the grease, it does leave a lot of carbon-related byproducts - in other words it will need a good clean regularly. I would have bought the mid-sized if I had my chance again.I've had it for a while now. If you roast with it, there will be a ton of grease and oils from the meat and they all don't magically disappear or funnel down into the grease trap in an orderly manner.... Read more
It does get a little messy. I suppose it depends on how clean you want your bbqs. I had a 3 burner previously and it was quite a lot larger and it seems to hide the grease a bit better because of that. I must say that the electronic starter still works well. The inside of the lid is almost jet black. The plate is still in good condition. The unit seems to be a quality item.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Ok, but flame goes out if there's any wind whatsoever!
In all other ways, the Baby Q is a great (although expensive) BBQ. It cooks roasts REALLY tenderly and juicy with the convection tray and cleans easily. It does cook very quickly, so you need to take this into account if you're not used to this style of cooking.
However, if there is even a breath of wind, it goes out! I have mine on a north facing verandah, so it's fully protected from south & south-westerly winds. I have to turn it around if there is ANY wind at all. I don't know how people go who use them in the open air.
It's a shame, as this ruins what is otherwise a great BBQ.

Every bit a Weber
I've had Webers since 1975. The famous Kettle (2 ) a Genesis Platinum Stainless Steel and a Go Anywhere that I picked up on sale in Los Angeles for $29 back in the 80's. The first kettle got knocked over a few times and after about 15 years, a couple of the chips on the side, rusted through, so it became a strawberry planter. The Genesis, I gave to a cousin, after I moved to a high rise apartment with a very small balcony, The Go Anywhere is under my bed (charcoal not a good idea in an apartment block, too many smoke alarms). o be the logical choice, especially with the High Dome lid, to allow cooking roasts (will fit a small turkey) and also because it has a thermometer in the lid. The thing with the Q, is that like ALL Webers, you do ALL cooking with the lid down ALL the time (except when turning the food) and it cooks just like the Kettle and the Genesis, quickly and evenly across its whole surface. You can grill, steaks, butterflied legs of lamb, pork chops etc., or you can roast, legs of pork, lamb, chickens, fish or you can low and slow cook, things like ribs or pork shoulders for pulled pork, all by adjusting the temperature, or using a trivet with a foil diffuser. Most of all, you can do it over and over and over and you'll get the same results every time. Should something go wrong with a Weber, their Customer Service is brilliant, I had an electric ignition failure, sent them an e-mail and received a free replacement (with fitting instructions), within 3 days. The grill grate started to flake, again, a replacement within 3 days. You might pay a little more but the Warranty more than compensates. I didn't bother with a stand or trolley, I have a small table on the balcony and that works fine for me. If I have a complaint, it's that the Q doesn't like strong wind, the kind of wind that you get 14 floors up. I devised a shield and it works well and I doubt that any other make of BBQ would fare any better. I love my Webers.1 comment

Weber Q100 and Portable Cart NOT compatible
I received a Weber Baby Q 100 for Christmas several years ago and so far have not gotten around to using it. This year I was given a money to buy the Portable Cart to go with the Baby Q. I spoke to the guy at the Weber Specialist shop and said I had a Baby Q and which cart I could get that would suit. He indicated to me this one was the one for the Baby Q. Excited I brought it home and put it together, got my Baby Q out of the garage and who would believe it but the Baby Q does not fit...Not happy.... IF they are going to sell something then maybe they should design it so that it fits all of the Baby Q's out there not just to more recent ones... I was so excited and now think I will just sell them all and go back to the old style barbie

Fantastic!
My wife and daughter purchased a Baby Q for me last Christmas. Compared to my big 8 burner monster I considered it a toy. How wrong I was. It's simply the easiest BBQ I've ever used and produces the best cooked BBQ I've ever produced. Roasts cooked on the trivet are stunning, with my only reservation being I wished my girls had purchased the Baby Q with the bigger lid (and temp dial) which would have allowed me to roast a bigger roast and still allow good air space around the meat. Brilliant BBQ - Perfectly Portable
My wife bought me the Baby Q with the high lid for Father's Day. What a great present this has turned out to be. Cooks beautifully. I also bought the half plate for bacon and eggs; this little barbie really is so versatile. Hi I've had my baby weber for about 2-3 years now and it's not that great. It works good as a bbq but not real good as a roaster. It dosnt get very hot and can't crackle a pork in it. I've tried straight on the trivot with and without foil, in and on baking trays and preheating to the max. It has has a new regulator replaced under warranty but no great difference in performance. I cooked a pork belly in it tonight out of the wind in a caravan annex on the trivet with foil. Had no crackle and the hottest it got was when the fat caught on fire un...Read more

I cashed in credit card points for BBQ Galore vouchers with a Baby Q in mind. Went to my local store to have a look and was immediately ushered to a Ziegler and Brown BBQ by a saleswoman, she told me how superior it was to Q, open top grilling, two burners etc, didn't "bag" the Q but had a superior comparison for every point. Got me thinking so I backed away for some more research. Turns out Z & B is a BBQ Galore generic item. a decent bit of kit. But stuck with the Q after reading many reviews including these, not least due to revered after sales support. Have always been a Weber charcoal lover but wanted something for quick fixes. Steak on the Baby Q is very close to charcoal flavour. Very, very good flavour and texture. Also bought the premium plate and it works well. Very pleased with purchase and writing this to assist others that may incur the BBQ Galore sales slant. The Q is a very good thing. Look forward to more experimenting. And PS - far superior to Bunnings full size cheapies - the Q is BBQ evolution. Best gas BBQ flavour and texture. Portability. Overpriced.2 comments

mething that can't be done on a Webber which only grills food with the lid closed. I also learned to put wood-chips in a closed parcel of tin foil directly onto one gas burner (with some holes poked in the parcel) to create smoke, as I too missed a proper woodsmoke taste. As for texture, I find the control of the Z&B easier as you can use one or both burners and it heats super fast to a much higher heat. Meat cooked indirectly with the opposite burner gives you succulent tender meat. Sometimes, just sometimes, the generic brand really is better because they are endorsing a product they really believe in. I think B.G. Has got this one right.Weber Barbecues A.Weber

at so many Australian's today are out there using their Weber Q's every day, getting fantastic results no what they're cooking. Barbecuing, Roasting or Baking - the feedback we get is awesome. I'm not about to get into a debate comparing products, but what I will say is that the cooking system on all Weber Q's is designed to create the best possible flavour when barbecuing, and when setup with a convection tray and trivet, the airflow for roasting is so even and consistent it makes roasting and baking really easy too. When cooking with the lid down on a Weber Q, you can often get temperatures exceeding 300C - certainly hot enough to really sear the outside of any steak! No fuss cleaning, extremely economical gas consumption, and high quality materials backed by Weber's rock solid warranty...... just some of the many reasons people love their Webers. Hello, i recently bought an older Q100 Baby q. And without checking the original grill plate i bought a half hot plate not realising that the grill plate is a "whole" plate not two halves. Question is can i use the hot plate by placing it on top of the grill plate or do i need to buy new half/half grill to make a grill/hot plate combo. Apologues for the confusing wording
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jason, although they weren't specifically designed to be used that way, you can use the half hotplate on top of the one-piece grill if you don't want to replace the current grill with the two-piece grill that is available on modern Q models. You just need to factor in a bit more pre-heating time, and watch the barbecue as it will take a bit longer for the hotplate to heat up being further away from the heat source.
Susanasked
Hi Weber,
Our bbq plate ( Weber baby q complete grill plate) has broken. It has not been dropped. The only new thing we have done is to put a pizza stone in there. Could this have made it too hot to snap it?
Thanks.
6 answers
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Susan, thanks for your question. Did you place the pizza stone on a trivet and convection tray when you placed it in the barbecue, or just straight on the grills?
We started placing it on the trivet but then lately we removed the trivet and had it straight on the grill. No convection tray just a pizza tray on the stone.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Susan, we always recommend that you use a convection tray and trivet when using the Pizza Stone on the Q's as this turns your barbecue into an oven (using convection heating) to cook the food.
How old is your grill? Did it come with the barbecue or did you purchase it separately?
