Jason S.asked
Hello, i recently bought an older Q100 Baby q. And without checking the original grill plate i bought a half hot plate not realising that the grill plate is a "whole" plate not two halves. Question is can i use the hot plate by placing it on top of the grill plate or do i need to buy new half/half grill to make a grill/hot plate combo. Apologues for the confusing wording

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jason, although they weren't specifically designed to be used that way, you can use the half hotplate on top of the one-piece grill if you don't want to replace the current grill with the two-piece grill that is available on modern Q models. You just need to factor in a bit more pre-heating time, and watch the barbecue as it will take a bit longer for the hotplate to heat up being further away from the heat source.
Susanasked
Hi Weber,
Our bbq plate ( Weber baby q complete grill plate) has broken. It has not been dropped. The only new thing we have done is to put a pizza stone in there. Could this have made it too hot to snap it?
Thanks.

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Susan, thanks for your question. Did you place the pizza stone on a trivet and convection tray when you placed it in the barbecue, or just straight on the grills?
We started placing it on the trivet but then lately we removed the trivet and had it straight on the grill. No convection tray just a pizza tray on the stone.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Susan, we always recommend that you use a convection tray and trivet when using the Pizza Stone on the Q's as this turns your barbecue into an oven (using convection heating) to cook the food.
How old is your grill? Did it come with the barbecue or did you purchase it separately?

Hi Will the portable cart fir a Weber Q100. If not how bad if the fir can it be altered the cart?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Wendy, thanks for your question. Unfortunately, the Q100's will not fit on the Portable Cart, as they have different sized bases and the feet are in different positions. If you're looking for a cart option, we suggest a small, non-combustible metal table that can support the Q and be transported easily.

Is there any where that still sells stands for the Weber baby Q 100? If not, any suggestions for alternatives for a stand?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Tracey, the stands that you need for your model Q are obsolete and no longer sold, sorry.
We suggest a flat, stable surface made from non-combustable material such as metal or stone to place your Q on. You can find small camping tables at most camping and hardware stores. Apologies we couldn't help any further with this.

I have just purchased a half hotplate for the Weber Baby Q100. The instructions seem to be saying to simply place on top of the grill but I would have thought that I would need to remove the half grill and replace with the half hotplate. Which is the correct procedure please?

We replace half the grill with half the hot plate!!
Thanks Did just that and cooked Salmon portions excellently
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Alan, yes you remove the half grill and replace it with the hotplate. We appreciate your feedback on the instructions though and will review this in future updates. Thanks

Hi
When lighting my baby Q sometimes the flame doesn't run to the end of the burner, and when I close the lid it goes out. The flame appears normal ie small blue flame.
I have tried leaving the lid open for 4-5 minutes and then close the lid and this works ok 99% of the time.
Any ideas??

try cleaning the gas outlets and maybe your gas hose either has a leak or the connections are blocked with the hose.
Thanks for getting back to me Chris.
I have replaced the hose and regulator, dismantled the burner and cleaned all the holes and blew it out with compressed air. I still have the problem.
A BBQ isn't exactly rocket science, so I assume I am missing one small thing.
When it is up and going, it takes me 1 hour to cook 1KG roast pork (with crackle to drool over) this is a fully belt for the whole time, is this the norm?
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
It sounds like you're sorted out your issue Bud! Cleaning out the burner tube and ensuring you have enough gas levels would be the best way to rectify that type of issue, and any further issues could be to do with the regulator.
Please let us know if you have any further issues.
Lachlan C.asked
Hi I 've got yellow flames on my old Q100. Is there a way to adjust the air intake to get back to blue flames?
2 answers
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Lachlan, there isn't a way to adjust the air intake, and you shouldn't have to. It sounds like you've either got a leak/seal issue in your gas connections, or there is an issue with your regulator. If you could please call us on 1300 301 290 and have your serial number handy, we can help. In the mean time, do a soapy water test to see if there are any leaks.
ok thanks for the help. Will see how I go

How do you replace the battery on baby q?

https://www.hunker.com/13409070/how-to-change-the-batteries-on-a-weber-q
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jo, if you've got an electronic ignition (with a lightning bolt on the front), then you simply grab the button, turn it slightly to the left 1/4 turn and the button should be able to be pulled out. From there you simply replace the battery and put it back in the way you took it out (1/4 turn back to the right). Hope that helps!
Diedasked
Can I use a non-stick hot plate line on my Baby Q grill.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi, I assume you meant liner on your Q? In short, yes, you can use it but we don't recommend them. They don't allow the fats and juices to drain away from what you're cooking and can stew your meat, as well as present a fire hazard. Also, it doesn't allow the natural convection to work effectively inside the barbecue, so you won't get the best results. Hope that helps clarify things for you.

Is there a Baby Q cook book with the purchase?
2 answers
There are some recipes in the Instruction Booklet. There is also a guide for how long to cook various foods on the Weber which is useful
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Pat, there is a handbook included in your pack that comes with the barbecue. It has set up instructions as well as recipes and tips.
You can also find recipes for the Q's on our website here: https://www.weberbbq.com.au/weber-recipes/

Is there a way to convert the baby q100 from a propane small gas canister (We think American) to the Australian version? We have bought a second hand bbq and cant connect the Weber hose. Thanks!
2 answers
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jess, thanks for your question. This may get tricky, as we aren't technically allowed to alter barbecues that weren't purchased within their country of origin- this is due to Australian Gas Regulations and us being a responsible gas product supplier. Can you please call us on 1300 301 290 and we can talk through your options? Thanks
Jess
I will purchase your old regulator when you replace?

Will a weber q 100 fit on a weber portable cart 6579?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Tigerlee, no, the older Q models will not fit on the current Portable Cart (6579). What you need is a Rolling Cart, which is now an obsolete product. Your best bet would be to look for a second hand one or look for an alternative cart option (like a small stainless steel table, heatproof bench, etc). If you've got any further questions, please let us know. Thanks!

Can you please confirm if there is a Natural Gas conversion kit available for the Q100 Baby Q? Its a 2013 model.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Mick, no there is not a conversion kit to NG from LPG for the Baby Q barbecues as they are classed as a 'portable' barbecue and cannot be used with Natural Gas. If you need any further info, please let us know. Cheers!

Had the same problem,so i undid the screw holding the burner to the frame, took the black plastic ignition/temp control piece off, undid the locknut that held temp.control/gasflowpiece to bbq and it all comes apart and you have the gas lead in your hand.Put small shifter on small inside nut and larger shifter on larger outside nut and holding the small shifter undo the outside nut as you would any ordinary nut.The location of the fittings is the problem if trying to undo with everything attatched to the unit,so my solution was to take the lead and fittings to where i could safely undo without damaging anything.Hope this is understandable, its a bit hard to explain, but not hard to do.

Is there a portable cart that will fit the Weber Q100? I bought a cart which fits the Q1000. 1200 & 2200 but the Q100 won't lock in properly.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi June, unfortunately, the only cart that fits our older Q100 models was the 6548 Rolling Cart, and these have been discontinued. We would suggest that you look for an alternative non-combustible surface to put your barbecue on- something like a small, stainless steel table would be great.
If you have any further questions, please call us on 1300 301 290. Thanks

Hey guys I’ve inhereted a Weber baby Q. I’ve attempted to attach the gas bottle but using the bayonet fixture. It’s not sealing correctly and gas escapes. I checked the end of the Weber Q brass assembly and the small black rubber grommet seal is not a full circle it’s broken I guess. Can I replace it? I’m in Brisbane

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Owen, thanks for your question.
The little 'o-ring' is an essential part of the gas line, so it's definitely necessary to get replaced. It doesn't come as a separate part though- it comes as a part of the hose/regulator/valve assembly spare part, which can be purchased from our head office. To order this part, please call 1300 301 290 or email us at [email protected] along with your barbecues' serial number and your contact details. Thanks!
This is not good, to replace an o-ring you have to replace the whole gas connection?
It's just like saying if you broke a high pressure pump o-ring you have to replace the whole system!
This is not eco-friendly!
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Vipermla, thanks for your feedback. While it can seem excessive to replace the entire hose, we do this as the 'o-ring' forms the seal for the gas line, so if you were stretching it over an existing hose, making it loose, you'd have a leak and therefore create a hazard.
By replacing the whole hose at once, we can guarantee that the connection is tight, and eliminate that risk for the customer.
