Do Not Use - Where Is My Stuff???
Anyone looking to move overseas I would absolutely not recommend Wridgways. They have my entire shipment still in Australia after 13 weeks and are now not responding to my emails with any updates.
I have been patient and understanding and flexible (even in the lead up to the moving day) and I think it only fair for a business to attempt to be transparent and communicative in this process.
I have requested updates multiple times, not to mention expressing frustration consistently at this service now almost being at 13 weeks waiting for my...Read more
things to arrive when I was informed from the outset that maximum 8-10 weeks turnaround. I have also had to chase for every single update, rather than being reassured of completion being imminent. I strongly hope others are not duped by this company's claims of professional and secure service. I truly wish I had gone with an alternate business, hopefully my worldly possessions arrive sometime this lifetime.1 comment

Do not use them
To be upfront, I won’t be using your services again and will not be recommending Wridgways to anyone in future.
I had various items broken during the move, including cheeseboards (which had sentimental value due to being a gift) and wine glasses. These were packed in boxes that were marked as “fragile” and also wrapped in layers of newspaper. The fact that only a few were broken, rather than all of them, indicates to me that the break wasn’t due to poor packing, but due to poor/rough handling of the boxes. Although I had purchased insurance...Read more
, with an excess of $200 it hardly seems worth the trouble. When in reality your guys should’ve just been careful to begin with. This was further emphasized to me, the nature of which items are handled by the staff members, as I was able to witness this firsthand. The two men who came to my property actually damaged my roof and chipped it (an entire chunk was taken off with a bedframe), resulting in a handyman having to come and re-plaster it. Although this did not come as a charge to me (and why should it), the handyman had to re-paint that section and the paint job was obvious. I am now hoping that I will not be liable for any re-painting job expenses that the landlord may need to incur as a result of this. I could see that the men were rushing and basically throwing my items around, without even noting whether it was fragile or not (even though it was clearly labelled for their benefit). Absolutely, disgustingly careless. Upon arrival in the new home, 3 of my boxes were completely opened. Which is odd considering I had taped/duct taped these boxes. As a result of it being open, dust and debris got into the boxes/items. Not to mention an invasion of my privacy.1 comment

Very disappointed with the hidden charges!
Use WridgeWays to move a full container load of furniture from Perth to Melbourne. After loading the container they emailed me a statement showing that there is a surcharge $104.50 for an additional packing. I questioned the surcharge as I boxed everything myself, a day later I have been told that they have decided to put a box over a blanket wrapped TV hence the surcharge of $104.50. No one has communicated anything to me regarding the re-packing you have no approval from me that willing or accepting to pay you a box at $104.50. By law you can...Read more
not force your customer to pay for things that I have never approved!! All I have to told prior my booking is that any box packing I require on the moving day will have an additional $16.50 for the material and if I need the movers to pack it will be $28.50 all inclusive per box. It is very rude and unprofessional to force me to pay, illegal in my opinion!! Feel free to view the box that costs $104.50 with Wridgeway, they charge you without letting you know and telling you that you have to pay.2 comments

Horrible! Do NOT use this company.
Do NOT use this company. Unprofessional, Liars, Untrustworthy, Unreliable and DO NOT buy insurance, they will not cover you.
My experience has been the most unpleasant ever out of any move I have made.
I move interstate, was quoted 1 week, and 4 weeks AFTER the quote my things arrived with NO explanation why it was late and I consistently called to ask for an update which, blame and responsibility was shifted around. ust happy to get my things. HOWEVER, Upon arrival of my belongings, I noticed that the fridge had what looked like Fist marks in the door, a few more dents and scratches. OK it still works. I then noticed that my desk has a crack along the side it did not have before the move. OK still stable. I then discover my brand new washing machine which luckily is still under warranty does not work correctly. And finally, My Smart TV that was in perfect working order before the move, I plugged in to turn on, I saw a flash of a shattered LCD screen, and then it turned off, never to be turn on again.2 comments

As per your advice I send a instant email to the [email protected] with all of the details included(and information from previous correspondence). In the company that I work for, we have levels of escalation, probably much like yours as the use of your term "Urgent Escalation". Where I work, our Urgent Escalation has a turn around time of between 15 mins to 4 hours, depending on the situation. If we cant resolve the problem we advise the customer and will continue to work on it until an outcome is reached. We always acknowledge receipt of issues - especially if we are offering urgent escalation. Thus far, I have not received any confirmation of receipt of my email, I have had no further contact from your company - even after following the above advice. Once again, I am left disappointed, but sadly, not surprised. I understand Wridgways is a large company, but surely you must value customer service??? or maybe I am wrong to assume this. I keep giving the benefit of the doubt that I was just dealt a unfortunate situation from your company with the move, but more and more through this issue - and reading some of the other real comments, it seems that I am not alone and this situation is a common occurrence. Please see that the "Urgent Escalation" gets attended to. I am sure that there are people within your company, that have spend alot of time and pride building it, that would find some of these situations appalling. Maybe this is who you need to urgently escalate this matter too. I hope to receive a response soon. Regards, DavidSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

House Removalist
My husband and I moved home from Thornlands Qld to Thornlands Qld, yes only a few kilometres but the service we received from Wridgways from the moment the rep. Troy Adamson came through our door and quoted us we had every confidence in him, Wridgways sent two fantastic guys, Rio and Darren who were so caring, and nothing was too much trouble, our precious furniture was delivered unmarked and we couldn’t be happier with the service we received, they are just so professional in every way, if you treasure your belongings like we do we can certainly recommend Wridgways, we had used them to move us previously from Cairns to Jervis Bay NSW 4 years previously and were just as impressed then as we are now. Worst company I have ever dealt with.. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
We decided to use Wridgways for our move from WA to QLD because initially they seem professional, we needed to move our 3 bedroom house relatively quickly and with all the other hassle of moving states wanted to avoid dealing with the details. Wridgways came out, looked at all our stuff and gave us a quote that was above our budget, so through discussions on the phone we removed lots of very big items ( couches, beds, etc ), and got the quote to a reasonable level, We were assured that we would be provided with a "tight pack", and everything wo...Read more
uld fit with no problem. So far, so good. We are advised that the shipping container will be about 3/4 full. Box Packing day came and being busy we let the packers do there thing, during the which time I offered several times to dismantle some of the furniture ( specifically expedite shelves and dinning table/bench seats ) to minimise space and damage risk, I was advised this would be necessary and that the guys packing the boxes into the container would do this if needed. Next day the container packers came and start loading up, once again, I offer to dismantle things, once again my offer is rejected. Midway through the day the packers start suggesting that not everything is going to fit. During this time we look at some of the boxes and find that some are packed terribly, including a 30" tv in a box big enough for a 100" tv and a small xmas tree taking up a full sized box, even though the tree is around the size of a closed umbrella. Towards the end of the day, its clear that not everything is going to fit and discussions continue with head office, its now estimated that its going to take 1 + 1/4 containers, at this point we are informed that wridgways want about another 50% of the shipping cost to move the remaining items. When all your stuff is in the drive way and your house settlement is the following day, there really isn't much option for negotiation, however after some discussion the extra fee is reduced to about an extra 30%. Before we paid this, we managed to negotiate it down a little further with our contention that the extra space taken was due to poor estimation by Wridgways and poor packing by Wridgways. Eventually we get to QLD and start unpacking, only to find that many of the boxes look like they have been packed by a 5 year old, including such great packing as - many clear plastic tubs ( which had been left to pack things into ), had been packed empty into their cardboard boxes. Many electrical items had been left with their original packing boxes next to them, both the electrical items and their empty boxes had been packed together. Many boxes where 1/2 to 3/4 full, many items which clearly could be folded for packing had been left unfolded. Items "stacked" on top of each other in boxes, where they could clearly be stacked "in" each other. I am confident that if the items had been packed correctly they would have easily fit in the original container.2 comments

I was totally surprised with my move
Honestly, I thought moving would be the most horrendous job after 20 years in one spot and 45 years of squirreling away all the memorabilia and stuff in general. Of course the preparation to move home, de-cluttering and sorting was a nightmare. But the move was stunning in its simplicity. WridgWays even came by 2 months later and took back all the boxes and paper. It was impressive.

Was a repeat customer, but they treated us like trash
I was a repeat customer with Wridgeways, I've used them twice before this time, and both times were perfect, but this time, it was absolutely disgusting. We moved from Brisbane to Melbourne, and it was a nightmare from the start.
Firstly, they started by refusing to pack some of our stuff, some of which was worth thousands of dollars, and we had to arrange with the local manager to get the packing team to actually pack these items. Then they did not finish packing on the first day so left it to the uplift crew on the second day, who took t...Read more

Don't do it
We were promised (and paid for, around $20,000) the world, for our Bangkok to QLD relocation. I couldn't be more disappointed and angry.
Firstly despite a very detailed survey and inventory, our stuff wouldn't fit in the allocated 40ft container resulting in a very significant additional cost. I'd heard rumours about boxes stuffed with paper in order to inflate volume but I wouldn't have believed it until I started unpacking boxes with 6 plates each wrapped in 30 sheets of paper.
Yesterday they left with a full shipping container of packagi...Read more

Do Not Get This Company
Do yourself a favour and do not get this company! They demanded more money on the day of pickup, claiming they had to move extra furniture. We had photo proof that this was not so, but it seems that NO ONE has any authority over this company, even with proof, as they do not respond to emails. They also sent our furniture to the wrong state, resulting in loss of parts needed to put it together. After months of stress and getting NOWHERE all we can do, is warn others to save yourself from this Company, their service is NOT acceptable!

Good service.
Moved from Victoria to Perth in December 2017 was a big move for us. But Santa Fe Wridgways made very easy. Our goods (Car and house goods) picked on time from Victoria and delivered to Perth on time. Very good service.
There few items were damaged but otherwise all good. Quoted and charged price was cheapest then the other company. I strongly recommended this company to anyone who needs to move.

Not happy
We did a small move from Perth to NSW - initially the service was fantastic which is why I went with them however I then got charged $25 for using a credit card which apparently was all the banks fault yet my car removalist did not charge a cent extra. We then got given a delivery date of anywhere between Mon - Friday but would get given 24 hours notice, we got called as we were out on the Thursday to say they were on their way, after a lot of neglected call backs we finally had an agreed time of Friday morning at 10am ... try sitting around on...Read more
a 37 degree day and still no delivery by 4pm! Finally they came after a lot of persuasion at 8pm - white leather lounge was absolutely filthy as was the bed. No apology just 'well its hot! I took a week off work for this removal!! When I advised the person I booked through, it was basically 'well you didn't take our insurance' ... many years ago furniture removalists had enough pride to ensure the goods they deliver now they don't give a damn - their insurance quote was triple compared to 3 other companies. In comparison I used a cheap car removal (once again a third of the cost of this company) and delivery date was given and that was the day it was delivered, all in great condition.... if only they also moved furniture. I like others had used Wridgways many years ago without an issue and they covered any issues back in those days, I guess now that they don't have to they don't give a damn.1 comment

Apparently this company doesn’t like it when you write negative reviews on here as they have them rejected and not posted. Seems mine was rejected and I wasn’t notified why.... I’ll just keep submitting until it gets through otherwise I’ll just keep leaving comments in the Q&A section... Review Below:
Brisbane contractors, do NOT do work for this company if they contract you to fix any damage they have done to their clients property.
They do not pay their bills and I’ve now had to pass on the invoice to my debt collector for collection.
1 answer
Still no review posted on why they enjoy skipping out on paying their contractors.
If anyone is thinking of using them for their removal needs, don’t bother, they can’t even pay contractors who fix the damage they cause to other peoples property.

How long does it take for me to get my belongings back when having paid in full for Santa Fe Wridgeways - to re- wrap and box my goods which have been sat in the Brisbane storage for some time, then sent to Sydney to be put in a container then shipped to Canada? It has has been just over a month now and I have been told they are still waiting for the final documents- before they can inform me when my things will be shipped.

Planning a move from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Brisbane. Santa Fe is pretty reputable here in Malaysia and the South East Asian region. The pre-move survey was done efficiently and the person who conducted it was very knowledgeable too. Is this an issue specific to Santa Fe Wridgways Au? I'm worried about using them now.

Run away from this company. Along with a loss of personal items which have never been found or paid for, the company gets every thing wrong. We employed them for an exclusive 40 ft container only to find after I left Australia they removed items without my consent and prompty lost an unknown amount of items as their inventory was not accurate.
I have not heard from them about my lost property since I was told by a manager they would fix it.
In short do yourself a favour DO NOT MOVE with this company. I could go on for pages regarding the problems we encountered but read the reviews and ask yourself why there are 4 or 5 fantastic reviews all in the same month ???? followed by reviews from people that had no end of issues.
Hope this helps

Hi Dv4,
Santa Fe Wridgways has a very strong reputation in Australia too, with 124 years of experience in moving both locally and globally. We acknowledge that every now and again mistakes can be made, and we make a genuine effort to resolve any issues that may occur during a move. The nature of our industry does mean that people are much more likely to share bad news rather than good news, and we regret that this can sometimes make it seem that our committment to Five Star Service has wavered. Whenever a negative review is received we contact the customer immediately, as long as they have provided identifying information, and will work collaboratively to ensure a resolution is reached. Our customers are what matters the most to us, and we would love to have the opportunity to prove this to you if you do choose to move with us. Please contact [email protected] if you have any further queries.
Regards,
Santa Fe Wridgways
I felt the until I received my property damaged and even when the driver signed a document and wrote that the move caused the damage, Santa Fe refused to reimburse.
I would not recommend them.
