Xiaomi Mi 9 SE

Phone has a great camera, runs very smoothly and is a comfortable size to hold.

MIUI is a pleasant layer over android, but it's not stock so if you want that look elsewhere. Supports band 28 unlike some Chinese phones which is very handy.

Biggest downside is some ads built in to the is the is OS which can be disabled in settings. Oh and hotspot didn't work out of the box change apn type to "default,supl,dun" if you have that issue.

Got the global variant which supports all Australian bands and does NFC too. In screen fingerprint scanner is a wow factor, great camera setups (including a wide angle) which does a superb job in shooting at night. Very snappy and handles all daily apps I've been using.
