Yates Weed 'n' Feed Liquid Hose-on

I have also had difficulty in attaching the snap on hose connector to the bottle. I unscrewed the bottle connection 90 degrees which allowed the hose to be connected from the side, then turned it back to its original position and “wha-la” all worked as it was supposed to. Results are happening after a few days to a week.

I couldn't give 5 stars, but only because there ARE sometimes issues with the hose connection and with flipping the lid open. The product itself though I have had great success with, and my lawn is looking better and better every time I use it. I will continue to buy/use it, but perhaps some tweaking of the bottle design?

Lived with a sparse, weedy, yellowing lawn for 5 years then sprayed Weed and Feed for the first time a couple of months ago. Now thick and dark green. Trouble is I have just doubled my lawn mowing chores. I had some nasty weeds which are being choked out although the winter grass is still there. Will definitely buy it again.
Hose connection fine - just remember to open the air intake hole in the bottle or the product wont come out.

Just used this product and it sprayed fine although I noticed the o ring was perished so I swapped it with a new one worked great just hoping it kills the weeds

got a few litre bottle from Bunnings, clipped straight onto my hose like it was born to do it, sprayed a dream, only been 2 days so can't speak on it working but seems none of use really want to talk about that and are worrying about wet hands anyways.
providing the weeds dissapear will definitely buy again

I had trouble with the connection, with lots of water leaking around the connection to the hose, with resulting insufficient suction such that no product came out of bottle. I had it all the way on. I applied a little Vaseline to the male connector on the bottle and it worked a treat - no leakage, product coming out as required. Likely that the rubber had perished a little.

I had no problem spraying 4 lots of it but I have new snap connectors on the hoses. Have learned to avoid cheap hose fittings as they are not good fits or don't last.

Reading through all the troubles people had with it spraying everywhere when u connect your hose to it, I was in the same boat! Always thought these spray connectors were stuffed, until I read a reply by Yates that mentioned the top flat plate to be removed. I never knew that had to be removed to use.....hence always spraying water everywhere when I connected it. Soon as I popped off the top plate with a knife it worked perfect and spayed out all the product. This is not mentioned on the label at all. Now I know what to do there’s no more going off my head and blaming the product. To save many more people the same fate, I suggest you add that as an instruction cos most people think you just connect the hose and away you go.

Easy to administer, just clip the hose on and water away.
I have been using this product for many years now and it does work.
It leaves my lawn green and kills bindi's clover and other weeds but makes my grass grow better.
I use it on a hot day, then don't water the lawn for about a week afterwards.
It takes a few days for you to notice the weeds dying.
Its quite cheap for what it is and Yates I find to be better and more effective than other brands.

After reading the review online I was getting a bit skeptical about the product. However my lawn is infested with bindi weeds and dendalion weed

I tried the granular product to get rid of most dendalion weed but not the bindii, sow thirstle weed. Tried the hose on weed and feed and it got rid of most bindii, wire weed over 2-3 weeks but most of the remaining dendalion, sow thirstle survived. I am trying the second treatment last weekend and will update on progress.

The product is easy to apply and cover large area, reasonable priced too. Not so sure about the “feeding” part of the product, lawn still looks dry and yellow after applied the product unlike the granular weed and feed the lawn turns green after 3 days

I have been using this for years. It works after a couple of applications. Wish I didn’t get wet using it, but it works and is much cheaper than the sulky man who used to do it. It is quite an effort doing it. Weed and feed works for my three lawns.

We are in an area with some forest, and there are a lot of weeds in our lawn. I use Weed and Feed about twice a year, and it works well. I don't see the weeds turn yellow, but they just stop growing. I spray the entire lawn with one 4L can, and mow the lawn one week later. After that, it's almost weed free for about 4 months and then it starts again.

Is there a knack for spraying weed n feed. I keep spraying as per instructions and level never seems to move. Ended up spraying with container just about upside down. This is not the first time either. Even had the one that plugs the hole for you. When it eventually gets on the lawn it is a good product, just not easy to use. Asked some friends for instruction assistance but apparently they all have the same problem.

Easy to apply, but you must lift the black nozzle cap right the way up! Great coverage. Used on a new lawn that can't take my regular weed killer. I'm waiting to see how the weeds die back. If it works in the next week or so I'm sticking with this product.

While the product is a little pricey compared to the competition, the design is spot on. No "tool" and having to place your fingers in certain spots while praying to a deity in the hope the venturi works. Just unclip the cover and away you go.

I can't understand other people's hassle connecting it to a half inch hose attachment. That said, I only use Gardena or Pope attachments as I've had too much grief over the years with generic ones either not sealing properly or having a short operational life.

Only note is not to use on buffalo or other broad leaved lawns as it will quickly destroy them.
