Not effective with low flow pumps
I use a Davey Eco pump on my filter and I always run it on the slow speed. No ordinary pool cleaner will work on such a slow speed. They will just sit there. Therefore I purchased the MX6 on the advertising blurb that states it will operate with low flow pumps. WRONG. It does not. It will only run properly when the pump is run at full speed and even then it will not climb walls. Very disappointed in this purchase as I am not prepared to the run the pump at full speed as I lose all the benefits of having an eco pump. ie saving electricity costs.

Doesn’t go up walls
I have a small fibreglass plung pool. 3 metres by 4.5 metres This pool cleaner does not climb the walls. I brought it for the sole reason to clean my pool walls. Not sure if this due to not been a tiled or concrete pool. I also find when it gets to the side of pool it takes ages to turn around

Great Pool Cleaner
Purchased the MX6 as I’ve had a lot of pool cleaners with the rubber skirt that seem to perish in the sun. At first had a little trouble getting it to work properly but after troubleshooting I gave my filter another backwash and the MX6 was off and running up the walls etc. This thing goes everywhere and the pool has never been cleaner. Great little design.
After taking a little while to get the MX6 going I read the reviews here on this page and thought I had bought a dud, but I am now very pleased with my purchase.

totally waste of money
i bought this last summer having been told it was a great unit i now wish that i had never bought it.gets stuck all the time at the steps or corner of steps and has to be moved manually.total waste of money.I will be selling it and buying something else

Keeps getting stuck near steps
I bought this machine some 24 months ago, I will not recommend this, it gets stuck near the steps and stays in that tilted position. It is frustrating having to manually move it away every day. Will not buy this again. It cleans the debris and works well otherwise.

Doesn't work
My pool guy sold me this cleaner when he built my pool a couple of years ago. After 5 or 6 months it started to get clogged more and more often - 1 leaf would bring it to a standstill and if I wasn't watching the cleaner while it was on, I would return after the cycle had ended to find a still dirty pool!

ver turns it) which seemed to loosen it up. He then was very careful to remove all the air from the cleaner and cranked the pump to maximum speed. The cleaner has been working much better since then. It still gets caught on the stairs (which it also did while the guy was here and he manually bumped it off) and misses a few spots here and there but at least it isn't jamming after a few minutes anymore. The service call was fantastic and the service guy was very friendly. So while the problem was not entirely a Zodiac fault (more like a combination of sticky fins, user error meaning me and poor design), I still would not recommend this product. If I started again knowing what I now know I would go straight to a robot. Funnily enough, the pool shop agreed with my synopsis of this model but then said that the top of the range Zodiac robot is what he feels is the best one on the market.Similar opinion? wish i had got another model this one picks up one leaf it stops have to clean it out not happy at all is it hard to suck up one leaf i dont know how many times i have had to pull it out and remove leaf litter starting to think i should have stuck with my old cleaner

Not a good product as it says
When I bought around 8 months ago it worked perfectly for say 4 months.
Then it rapidly started to slow down and stopped completely moving a month ago. Since it was under warranty I complained to Worked and they asked me to send it back to check. They sent the product back saying that they had to replace some part and it should work normal.
NO it is the same and I am disgusted that they are lying. To start the product should not have faulty parts or get faulty if this was a genuine product. Anyhow they liked to say they replaced a part as I am concerned. The ZODIAC
Cleaner does not work!!

Problem Solved
Sent our cleaner to Zodiac and they returned it within days. We thought nothing had been done but it now works well. Hope it keeps it up because it now saves time not having to clean the pool manually. Thanks guys.
The service was quick and they organised pick and delivery to get the problem solved.

Why did I buy this
I bought this cleaner new but can't find the receipt. As per other reviews I have a shaped pool and it sticks in corners all day every day. Replaced the tracks changed the pressure but now just had enough.
Please someone take this thing away and shoot it.
I have had two pool servicing companies try to fix and they tell me they can't fix it either.

Complete junk!!!
I purchased the zodiac mx6 brand new from our local pool store ($299) and after 6 months stop turning and climbing the side walls. We were told it was the tracks and received new ones after a few weeks. This did nothing. Brought the cleaner back to our pool store and they said it was the drive system. At this point I really didn't care I just wanted it fixed. Found out the part was on back order and now stuck with this pool cleaner waiting on parts. Never will I purchase zodiac again!!! And recommend others do the same.

Roller wheel continually snaps.
Besides continually getting stuck in corners and clogged with minimum leaves, this pool cleaner has a design fault. Regardless of what speed adjustment or pressure of the unit l make.
One of the roller wheels snaps from main frame.
The units main frame then needs replacing.
In 3 years l have had main frame replaced 3 times and guess what it snapped again today.
Same wheel every time. Cycle has been 2 times a week for 8 hrs during winter.
I've had enough frustration now with it.
Refund or different unit is the only option

No good for shaped pools
If you have a shaped pool or steps, this isn't for you. Leaves get stuck or it gets stuck in curves and the tracks are constantly wearing out because of this. So wish I had done more research and read some more reviews. I am currently looking for a new one so feel free to buy mine

Piece of Junk. Do not Buy
The first major problem with this Zodiac MX6 Tracker is that even small leaves get stuck inside the rotor and we have to open it up at least once a week. This means unscrewing parts and putting it all back together again, which is not only time consuming but also tricky! The other problem is that it gets stuck in the corners of the pool and stays there for the rest of the cycle. A piece of junk!

It gets stuck all the time, and it does wheelies throughout the pool, it's a piece of crap don't buy one, also I have palm trees around the pool and Things fall in the pool and I have to clean it 3 or 4 times a day it's a pain in the head.

Continually gets stuck with leaves
We replaced our barracuda (which was fine but getting old and worn out) with the zodiac mx6 and it certainly got around the pool better than the barracuda, up the walls better, but we found it was forever getting stopped by leaves getting stuck in the rotator blades. We now have to clear leaves out 2-3 times a day, pretty awful. I sense zodiac will make it hard to return as it is with their technical department at the moment.

My new best friend!
So I have a really tricky fiberglass pool with a ledge all the way around, roundy steps etc...not a problem! OCCASIONALLY it makes it past the lip, sucks air, and falls to the pool floor to tootle on it's way again, OCCASIONALLY when the water level has shifted I need to shift the float on the tube to stop it getting stuck on the lip.....but 3 months in this has been the first summer in 6 where I haven't had at least 1 pool crash, and the pool gets used so much more coz it always looks clean and inviting. My MX-6 isn't allowing enough water to flow through the system. When I have just the hose in the pool, the returns are fine. But when I add the robot to the end of the house, the waterfalls trickle down the wall instead of flowing freely. If I open the skimmer any more, it sucks air. If I open the floor drain at all, the robot gets stuck on the drain. Is there a different product that would allow for a greater flow through the cleaner?

Hello, I just installed the mx6, drain is closed, the yellow wheel does the proper 10 rotations in the 20-25 seconds. When the unit climbs the pool wall the unit goes above the water line and then sucks in air. What can I do to correct this? Sammy Ray Morris

Mine does that too, has since I got it but the higher the water level in my pool the less often it happens.
