Not fit for purpose
The coffee tastes equivalent to other brands at first but started to malfunction a few months after I started using it (around twice a day). These machines just don't seem like they're built to last. It's easy enough to clean but keeps flooding so I'm on the lookout for a new machine,

has always given me problems
Purchased this from Aldi as my old machine failed after 4 years. This one always seems to put some water (and coffee) into the wast pod container. After 12 months it is getting worse so that now on most days we have to redo the coffee once or twice with new pods to get the coffee into the cup. Very unhappy and now looking for an alternative machine.

Had to replace it with a different brand
I bought this when my Jura auto cappucino machine died and was going to be an interim measure until I could get it fixed. The first one I bought was faulty the water container leaked and so I returned it to Aldi easily and then got a replacement. I didnt try the coffee in the first one as it didnt work properly. I read the manual and it called for a descaling liquid which wasnt with the machine. (it stated the warranty would be void if it wasnt regularly descaled) I phoned aldi they put me onto the manufacturer who sent out a sample to me a...Read more
nd said they would be stocking in store in the next few months. The second machine worked properly but when I came to try the actual coffee it was really undrinkable. So it wasnt really the machine issue. I had had other brands of capsule coffee and really liked it and was suprised that the taste of the aldi capsules was so bad. I made a cup for a friend to test and they didnt like it either. Aldi were good about returning the second machine. I have noticed they do tasting when they sell them now, but havent seen the descaling solution instore. I got the vittoria capsule machine and love it so much I havent gotten the Jura fixed yet.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love It!
Very happy with the range of drink pods available; full flavoured strong coffee, chai, decaf and hot chocolate, are our favourites. Very affordable and convenient bulk buys. We use coffee mate instead of milk and use filtered water to enhance the flavour.
It is simple to use and cleaning is a breeze.
It is relatively quick, water flow is great in comparison to other machines and it is always hot enough.
I've had other more expensive brands but undoubtedly prefer this machine.

Great little machine.
Purchased my Expressi from Aldi 12 months ago now. Machine works well and makes a nice coffee. There are plenty of coffee variations to choose from. Do read the manual ... it does help. The only problem I have found is with some pods where the coffee stops flowing out the spout and slowly flows into the machine. Others have spoken of this too. Aldi have been happy to exchange "faulty" pods however. I think the problem may be coffee grinds hardening in the pods and so before using them I now tap them on the bench, squeeze them gently all round and give them a good shake. Since doing this I have not had any more "faulty" pods. Some coffee blends may be more prone than others.

Inferior substitute to previous model
Was very happy with the previous model which we had for 3 years. The 2016 model is of inferior quality and has not worked efficiently since purchased 11 months ago. It was always hit miss whether the water flowed through and in most cases went into the pod receptacle and wasted coffee pods. Have since returned the coffee machine and received a refund.

Good coffee machine at a reasonable price
A sleek designed coffee machine at a reasonable price. The coffee capsules for this machine are much cheaper to buy, hence a very low long term maintenance costs. It provides a wide range of flavours with different intensities. Very easy to use and easy to clean jus one press of a button. Love it.

Great option for affordable coffee!
I like this machine because there is a wide range of flavours that are affordable and easily attainable from Aldi. I think the pods are only about $5 per box, which is great value compared to some other brands! The machine is also easy to operate and clean - I have I never had an issue with mine!

Quick and easy!
The coffee from this machine tastes so fresh, crisp and amazing. It pours out smoothly and evenly and doesn't leave splash marks like others have. It is just so super easy to use, as well as it is to clean! I would absolutely, without a doubt, highly recommend this product to others.

The Aldi coffee machine is defective.
The coffee is excellent but the new version that has came out the machine doesn't pump the coffee through the pods and the pods keep on getting getting jammed.
I bought the first machine in june 2017 and went through three machines in one year before I gave up and got my money back.
The manager says that this has never happened but when I bought the first one back there was an elderly couple returning theirs as well and they said they had the same problem.
Aldi are just not willing to listen to their customers

Makes great coffee and in our house is a must for breakfast in the morning. Great tasting coffee and the pods are available everywhere. They are also very affordable as well as top quality. I cant think of anything else to say though so this is very hard for me as I really do like the machine.

I do like this machine.
With a bit of practice and trial and error this machine can produce quite decent coffee. It's easy to clean and easy to use. I have had some problems with leaking but Aldi replaced it. There is a big variety of different flavours including a decent decaf. I have not tried the chocolate.

Ok for $79.99
I am annoyed that most of the coffee ends up in the used pod receptacle, I clean it and it's fine for 2 or 3 cups then pretty useless after that. Of course I have had it 12 months, I know because I purchased it when I moved into my new house and have been here a year, uneasy about buying a new one as don't want the same thing to happen again

Save your money
I found the coffee it's self was quite bad, I tried using different (compatible) brands coffee capsules & the machine seems to burn the coffee. It tastes rubbish. Quite frustrating & has been a waste of money in my eyes.
I think it really has been a case of the price reflects the quality.

This Aldi coffee machine is a great price to buy straight up, it has great coffee, wonderful variety. We have tried others (woolies, coles, nescafe for example, and we always come back to this one, nice and strong and good value for money. Will continue to purcase this coffee in the future.

Piece of crap
Old aldi machine was great but i went through 2 of them, this one is constantly causing dramas by filling the pod basket rather than my coffee mug, numerous times i get burnt by dripping coffee when trying to then remove the basket to start again. I hate this coffee machine.

Questions & Answers
Bethasked
I was unable to remove the used pod container from my machine for many months, & eventually stopped trying. After about a year of disuse, I mentioned the problem to someone, this afternoon, & showed them how the container is supposed to be removed, so they could have a go, and as I did so, the container just came straight out, no problems! I gather it was because the coffee had become totally dehydrated over time, and so the pods had shrunk back down, so they no longer filled the available space...!
Anyway, I plugged my machine back in, filled up the water container, and tried to run the clean water through the machine. Although the 3 lights came on, then 2 went off (as they’re supposed to) leaving the milk/rinse button’s light on, when I pressed the button, nothing happened. I’ve tried all 3 buttons, and have tried with & without a pod in the machine, but nada! It doesn’t make a sound, either, so the water isn’t even heating up! Any suggestions as to what the problem might be, or how I might be able to get my Expressi machine working again?
Any help would be much appreciated!

How old is the machine ? Honestly from your story you probably need to go out and buy a new machine. Especially if it is not under warranty anymore. I have just bought the latest machine at Aldi and it is fabulous ! A lot quieter than the original one I purchased a few years back.
