Just dont get sucked in by price.
We live of grid and have done for ten years . We have tried many cheap genies over that time all being rubbish.A friend of ours got sucked in by the price on a workzone geny although we told him its a gamble the price won him .The thing ran for a total of 8 hrs and now wont produce power he has tried everyone to try and get help but guess what know one wants to help so of to consumer affairs what a drama 3 months and still no joy.Just go out and buy a honda or a yamaha dont get sucked in to a cheap geny or like all of us that have tried you will end up throwing your hard earned in the bin.

Stopped putting power out
I have used my generator 3 times and it has stopped putting out power.I have checked all the power outlets and the cords. The green light is on indicating that power is there but when I put appliance in no power. I have done all the trouble shooting process also.

Gutless unit
The box says it can run air conditioners...Well I plugged in my air conditioner and the unit had a meltdown. It can't handle the compressor kicking in. Had to unplug before it stuffed the compressor. Next test-inverter welder. Just enough power to draw a spark and that's all. Yet I can run both with a "smaller" Honda unit. I estimate it puts out 1500 watts max. Typical Chinese garbage.
Morale of the story is stick with the brand leaders-Honda / Yamaha etc.
Back to the store it goes! Never again!!

Waste of time and effort. Bought in Qld NEW! Ran ROUGH for 90 seconds then never again!
I am a genuine unsuspecting buyer. I believe buying a Workzone Titanium+ 3500W INV Gen is a pure Gamble. Ours was a failure as an electrical generator. Expensive junk $400 Is NOT a bargain in anyone's world.
My advice is to return to it Aldi & get a refund ASAP! Regrettable buy. Got mine in Qld.
Wasted 2 hrs setting it up By The Book! Wasted at least 2 more trying to get it to actually run c trouble-shooting! Will be another 2hrs to Drain dismantle and return to Aldi.
At Best Sputtered for 20- 30 secs c lotsa black smoke. Then many pul...Read more

Great Buy, More than happy with the performance
Purchased today from Aldi. As an electrician the first thing i did once assembled, filled with oil (Premium SAE 30w Mineral oil) and fuel (premium) was to give it a good test. I used a Kettle to give it a 10a load while i checked output. I was happy with 240V output with the Hertz sitting stable at 50HZ with the change in load. I am more than happy with my purchase that has a 3 year warranty. Its rated at 3200w (max) but i suggest keeping the load to around 2400w or so it not working its but off permanently, savvy.

Exactly what I was expecting
Bought unit today from Aldi. Was there at 8am, with about 30 other people.
The doors opened and then it was a mad rush, for various specials. But 2 pallets of generators of about 8 each, went in one minute!
Fortunately, another guy with a sack truck had managed to grab 2 generators. He turned to me and offered me one. Thanks mate.
Got some 10w 30 oil, 20L jerry can and fuel stabiliser I was on the way home. Get semi synthetic oil as I was advised by an older gentleman at Supercheap.
Got it home, it looks very well built! A $399 bar...Read more
ging! Fitted rubber feet, handle and wheels following detailed instructions. Then sat back at carefully read the operating instructions. This is a must. Filled oil and fuel, unit started after a few pulls. Check choke position! Let it warm up and then I put on a small load, 40cm fan. Then I connected a 35 year old frost free fridge and it handled that ok. Ok it grumbles for a few seconds.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Its a woman's world
This has inverter written in add and on right hand side of it the reviews from Australia are good it's the overseas ones and they are very humid places maybe that is the reason. Noise is a good level for being in a open area easy to use as being female

Frustrated and Disappointed!
Hello everyone, we also purchased a Work Zone (Aldi) Titanium Inverter Generator 3500W in March. Sent it to Fiji after Cyclone Winston. Followed the instructions. Used only from 7pm to 11pm, 5 evenings later it stopped. Got it going again, however motor continued to run but no power supply! Called the Aust. customer support line 1800 909 909 a number of times, still waiting for a call back! We are frustrated and disappointed. As consumers we buy products and expect some use.... in particular in this case. Our families and friends have lost and suffered so much, we try to ease their life a little bit! Thank you Matt for the trouble shooting ideas!

Sucked in by Aldi again
In the past I had bought a couple of TVs at different times. They didn't last a year without sparking or ceasing to work altogether. 10 years later hoping they'd have lifted their game I bought a generator because I now live off the grid and it's nice to have a movie night or game console night at the end of the week. I bought it in March 2016. For the first oil change NO ONE could get the sump plug off. I'd tried everything and this is not my first generator. WD40 and a snapped socket wrench. Spanner and hammer, wouldn't budge. Even a small en...Read more
gine mechanic friend couldn't get it to budge with conventional tools. On his advice I had to syphon oil out of the inlet. Prior to the oil change / checking spark plugs / changing filters, it blew sparks out of the power outlet after 10 minutes of running. Just suddenly *boom*. It had been used about 10 times and ran fine. Not overloaded with just a Playstation and TV (not huge) plugged in. Suddenly *boom* and I saw sparks out the window. I was parallel with the window but visually behind the generator. It shutdown completely. No spluttering, just stopped. My Uncle was a mechanic and my maternal grandfather was a sparky so I grew up around this stuff. I gave it look over and tested various components. Fixed it up. It was working fine for 3 more uses, then *boom* again. Shutdown completely. Now looking at other things to fix it up. It's a royal pain in the proverbial. Last time I buy anything mechanical or electronic from Aldi. I also remember that in 2009 I bought an mp4 for my teenager from Aldi which didn't work at all. I took it back. The exchanged mp4 player didn't work either so I got a refund. So these experiences with this generator tell me that they still sell garbage.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good value product
For some time now I have given serious thought to replacing my pre 1988 Honda Modra 3 kva generator. It has only seen service as a standby power supply for my house over the years when power outages have occurred. It has proven its worth in saving food we keep in three fridges and freezers. Its age has meant that it is the old technology and when operating anywhere near its rated capacity the voltage decreases a good deal, so its voltage regulation is not wonderful. I compensated for this by increasing the engine revs which had the effect o...Read more
f increasing the ac frequency to probably closer to 60 hz than 50. The trouble is inverter gensets cost a good deal more than regular alternator ones, there is a good deal more hardware, they are a lot smarter. The hype about inverter sets has a lot to do with being safe for sensitive electronic equipment, computers etc, that they require clean pure sine wave power which can`t be obtained from standard gen sets. Well I am not an electronics expert, but electronics gear run on low voltage almost guaranteed dc not ac so the ac 240 volts is put through a switching mode power supply, which is very modern technology and is very flexible at producing exactly the right power for modern equipment. That is why you can take your smartphone anywhere in the world and safely charge it on any country`s mains power, 110 volts through to 240 volts and 50 to 60 hz the only limiting factor is having the suitable plug adapter. In fact I am sure it would operate way outside those frequencies with no problem. Scaremongering can be good for business and can fool a lot of people. Remember the fears surrounding the Y2k bug. Recently Aldi Stores had on special, their own inverter generator 3500 watts peak power at $399, I have seen 3000 watt models from the competition priced at 9 times that. I have only had it a fortnight so have had no opportunity to test it extensively but I can say that straight out of the box, fueled up and filled with oil it started first pull of the cord and has repeated this every time since. Furthermore it sounds very much like a Honda and I understand Honda do have a factory in China making engines. I have been told this is a Honda copy. It handled running any and all the equipment I intend with no problem, which means I will never use it for cooking. I did try running a heavy industrial quality air compressor, which draws 10 amps 2400 watts just running so it`s starting load could exceed 9000 watts, I have to say it baulked at that, the overload protection came into effect. I only did this to see what would happen, I was expecting exactly that. So based on the limited use so far I am very happy with this purchase.
