Ran for 20 seconds and then seized
I bought one of these "Special Buys" 2 weeks ago. I attempted to test it yesterday after following all instructions re oil (not included in purchase), fuel, settings etc. and after 10 pulls it burst into life at an incredibly high rev. speed. Before I could get to the kill switch it stopped "dead" and the recoil pulley start would not budge so it appears the engine has seized. I took it back for a refund and left the $10 worth of oil in it. Bad experience.
Purchased in April 2021 at ALDI for $349.00.

Great value
I weld with this unit on farms. Has not let me down in 3 years. Outputs a beautiful sine wave that my most delicate electronics work on. I jave properly load tested this unit on a 30 degree day at its continuous output rating (hint - its not 3500w) and it performed well for a full tank of gas.
The only thing I would wish for is a 12v output but not critical. Keep it under cover as some of the chrome bits get rusty but no biggie.

You get what you pay for but it was a good short-term fix
I live off grid and rely on a solar setup, bought this cheap gen as a back-up (which ended up seeing almost full-time use last winter..!). Worked great (albeit noisy) for quite a few months until the inverter died. It was repaired under warranty but then died again a few months later- by then my nearest service centre had stopped dealing with these due to bad rep) so I had to return for a refund. Did the job until I could afford to buy a better one.
Purchased in April 2021 at ALDI for $399.00.

Failed to generate power
Brand new, worked fine for a couple of weeks then failed. No power from any outlet. Must be an electrical design fault. Didn't want to open it up as I didn't want to risk the guarantee. Haven't taken it back yet. Bought a replacement as I am dependent on and after just two weeks looks like it's going the same way. Spend the money and buy a known brand. This generator is a piece of garbage. Very inconsistent reviews seems to indicate luck of the draw. Very disappointing.
Purchased in May 2021 at ALDI for $350.00.

Aldi Generator
Generator ran great for a few months then all of a sudden stalled and would not start again. I was told it wasn't covered under warranty because the 2 month old fuel was too old (which is a load of rubbish).
I ended up stripping the carby and eventually got it going again but it is not reliable. It has happened again since and with fresh fuel.
27/2/2020 - Update.......bought a 3.5kVA generator from 4wd Supercentre for $389.00. Has been working great for almost 12 months.
Purchased in April 2021 for $399.00.

Piece of crap
First time I used this ganerator it ran great for about 30 to 45 minutes using the air conditioner inn the caravan, it then. Started to run flat out as it was going to blow up, the went back to idle and then speeding up and down and not producing any power . Switched the generator off and left it for about an hour . After restart it was just hunting up and down with no power from the generator turned it off. For the day and tried it again the following day with the same problem. You’d think that at least the generator would last more than a day . NOT HAPPY AT ALL

Doesn’t meet claimed power output
Doesn’t meet claims
Sadly the work zone generator I purchased in November 2018 does not meet its stated power output capability.
It will not run a 1600 W toaster, it will not run a caravan water heater, it will not run a skill power saw.
All of these items are well within the start-up and constant operating power capabilities stated on the machine. Furthermore the machine stalled instantly the appliances were turned on. Did not continue running and switch off electrical power as stated in manual .
I got it at a discount price of $200 an...Read more

Never missed a beat for 3 years now over revs
3 1/2 kilowatt version has been fantastic and never missed a beat in three years or more but now is over revving all the time from what I gather from this forum is that there's a switch which need to pull the generator apart to access reset great for safety very inconvenient for the everyday user.
I got a 2200 what version to get me through recently.
Don't waste your time with it.
I knew I should have bought two of them four years ago

Good when it’s working
Runs for awhile then it doesn’t produce power. I have to shut it down for awhile. When I restart it it produces power again. The cooler the day the longer it’ll produce power. Will be no good on hot days to run camp fridges. Noise wise, it is pretty much on a par with similar genset of the same size, just a shame that the heat sensor might be to sensitive or faulty.

The newer version 2018 is a TOTAL failure
I bought this generator 2 years ago and it worked well for 4 months, used regularly. When it failed i had lost the receipt... I bought a new one this year, looks the same, but it only worked for a couple of weeks. I was able to return it and get a refund. As the store still had some on the shelf, I bought a replacement, which only lasted 5 days. That's 2 identical generators fail within a month for the 2018 model. The current manufacturer of this generator obviously has substantial quality issues in their production process!

Pile of rubbish
Exhaust stud snapped off and the other one rattled loose while running. Broke remaining cast mounts essentially ruining all components. Still starts and runs but obviously very loud. Just using up Remaining fuel and will return ASAP. Will probably get another one as the two year warranty is attractive.

(ALDI) Work Zone T I G 3600W
Purchased from new ALDI Store Dalby QLD. Firstly great service from staff at store. Set this Geni up day after purchase and have not yet had any issues with it. have no mains power only off grid solar then Geni to run Pulse charger to keep deep cycle batteries charged at night and geni runs TV & Powered extension speaker system also at night and computer with extension monitor. Not a huge load but works great . It runs from 4pm till 10pm each night . Fuel economy is good on pare with the Fuji Micro of the same KW that I have . I intend using this work zone to also run washing machine ect. Paid only $360.

Great Product for the right people.
OK a 3.6kw or 3.4kw Inverter Generator for $399.00 I thought I was imagining things. This unit has some specification inconsistencies on the box. The first being the noise output pressure, it's either 72db or 69db depending where you look on the box. I was not expecting too much for the price but then I was not the one making the claims and since this unit has a supposed 3 Year Warranty and a 60 Day money back Satisfaction guarantee I had nothing to loose as I was in the market for a spare Generator anyhow. So here are my findings after buyin...Read more
g one. The box itself had some wear and tear and a number of technical inconsistencies were noticeable straight away however everything was in the box that was supposed to be and it was all undamaged. There was even a small tool kit in a cloth bag. This unit requires some assembly and a fair bit of attention to detail as I found a large number of the already fitted components loose with a number of the nuts and bolts barely finger tight. I had to tighten all the engine mounts and a number of other retaining bolts. It seems the engine and generator were fine but who ever mounted the unit to the frame did not own a spanner. There were also a few cables not clipped into the supplied mounting clips. So after I did the factory workers job for them and fitted all the rubber mounts, wheels and handle I filled the oil and put some fuel in the unit. A few pulls with the switch in the off position to circulate the new oil and one pull with the switch turned on and it was away. Adding various loads up to and including the Maximum for various periods over the five or six hours I tested the unit I found everything worked OK and the Fuel Economy is EXCELLENT! Voltage and frequency outputs were within tolerable specification. OK for an inverter, great for normal geny and better than what you probably get from your household power point. More expensive units like the Honda EU30I etc. that cost like ten times the price do have better output! This unit was fine over a large range of power outputs with the voltage dipping a little as the load increased and spiking up as large loads were released. Motor starting Capacity was OK but you knew you were starting a motor as this unit has a slightly sluggish recovery so there is a noticeable fluctuation of voltage when changing load conditions. I would highly recommend using a UPS with this unit for sensitive equipment like computers especially if you have motors or other high load devices turning on and off like hot water units, fridges, freezers and water pumps etc. The unit has good airflow and remains relatively cool even under high load. Noise however is possibly an issue for some. This unit is light for it's rated output and while easy to move around it's probably the lack of bulk that adds to the noise output. The unit is no louder than most standard 3000 RPM Generators but you tend to expect an Inverter unit to be more quiet. This one is not quiet and in a public camping ground you would be told so. Use this unit in a Sound Damping Bunker or on a LONG LEAD and all is good. The Pros: Three 15A Power Outlets (Needless to say the MAX POWER is only available as a total of the three. Cheap to Buy and to Run, Great Economy, large fuel tank, long run times. Light, easy to wheel around and even lift. It's an INVERTER. Looks Good, works well and starts easy. The Cons: Noisy. You better have and know your way round a good tool kit and give this unit the once over lest it fly apart on the first run. Motor starting and fluctuating load performance a bit sluggish with some voltage spikes on switch over. This is expected on a cheap generator but not on an Inverter. No 12V Charging output. To sum up: I am keeping Mine, I have it on a LONG Lead and have tightened up all it's bits. I even moved the pull start around (3 bolts) for a right hand pull as it was set up for a left hand pull. All in all I think I got a Bargain I will add comments later if things turn bad.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Cannot fault it, great generator for the price.
I have a rural property that is off the grid. I have in excess of 400 hrs on the Aldi 3600watt Inverter genset and use it to recharge/top up my solar batter when necessary.....and whilst it is on, I use the microwave/toaster/coffee machine and it handles it with easy. It is fairly good on fuel.......It would be a bit noisey for camping use and caravaners......However, this is not an issue for me, as I don't have anyone to annoy !!!!
I have just purchased another today 23/6/18 as a back up, and to be honest...I didn't think the original one...Read more
would be still going as I certainly give it a workout !! If anyone wants a nice quiet quality inverter.......get the Yamaha or Honda 3000....Super-Quiet !.....However, $4000 and not $400....Well worth it though in the long run. Cheers1 comment

Great genny
Brought this to run aircon and electrics in caravan. Over the 4 days of march long weekend we sweltered through 42+ degrees. This unit ran my aircon between 14 to 16 hours every day through this period. When hot running aircon will run jug or toaster. Never a problem. Used it over easter without an issue.
Very happy

Work Zone (Aldi) Titanium Inverter Generator 3500W FAIL!
The first time I used it this generator ran for about 10 hours and the inverter started to fail. With the LED light its was running starting to flash. We tried everything and then the inverter stopped completely. Found the receipt and will be taking it back asap. For $400, I expected it to last a lot longer than that. Made the camping trip so much more difficult and the kids miserable. Very disappointed Aldi!!!

Worked ok at first then failed when it was needed
We noticed it was noisy from the start but didn’t worry too much about the noise as long as it supplied power for our a/c unit on our boat. First hot day out, bang, failed. No power. Couldn’t even see if there was a reset button or switch. No reliability. Don’t bother.

Ran once flawlessly...
Generator ran once flawlessly, on the second run power cut out after a couple of hours and it started billowing noxious white smoke.
Restarting the generator after it was left to cool caused a bang to be heard form the inverter and something white ejected form that area of the generator.
