No compassion!
Hi. I went to arb 4 a winch fitting. Appointment was for 12.30. Two oclock they saw to the fitting. Over the next halfhour I developed food poisoning and became very ill (dodgy piece of fish). I spent some time vomiting in the shrubs. A kind gent brought me some water (employee). My guts were in turmoil so I went to ask 4 a toilet. Not 4 public I was told. Go down to the servo. But I cant make it. Go to the waiting room, was suggested. I did and same gent came and told me his boss said I could use their toilet. Ok. I finished and went back to w...
Read moreaiting room. I was still vomiting. A kind girl got me a bucket and with mask on proceeded to sterilize the area I was still resting in (with mask and covid awareness,i was still in the room, vomiting in my presented bucket. In a bit, an upstart came and told me that it was not a good look on the showroom floor (I was in the waiting room still AND DEMANDED I vacate the premises and take my bucket with me. I left and sat on cold concrete outside untill my car was ready. That is the service of HOBART ARB. Not at all acceptable.

Shattered window
Wow can’t believe there is a club! Went to lunch on the weekend and was only away from my ranger for an hour, on returning my drivers side window on my canopy was shattered. Cafe had cameras and there was no one near the car while we were away! Rang ARB Albury and a very disinterested lady told me to bring the car in to get measured for a replacement! Customer service NIL!!!
Another phantom glass exploding!
Yep, me too! Now part of ‘that’ club where the glass in my ARB exploded while parked with no human activity involved. Rang ARB head office, argued my case but alas, they have all the answers, “ chipped glass, impact causing stress, over 3years old”....etc. Might put an EMU WING in instead, can’t see the point of rolling the dice again.
ARB exploding glass
Guess I'm the latest victim.
Went to open my ARB canopy rear window today and it just exploded in my hand. Luckily no major injuries from it. No impacts to the glass or any reason for it to explode.
Sounds like a common fault?

Exploding Ascent Canopy side widow.
Ford Ranger 2014 parked in driveway when for no reason the ARB Ascent Canopy side window exploded. With a bit of research it appears to be a very common problem. Arb advised they were unaware of any issues. 4 weeks to get a new one which is a pain in the A.

Exploding canopy glass.
I guess I am now in the ARB canopy glass exploding club. Just last week, while hooking up the trailer, the rear glass exploded for no apparent reason. The rear glass was open at the time. While I suffered some minor nicks and cuts to my right arm, I am on blood thinners, luckily nothing major.
Does ARB know how dangerous this or don't they care ?

I would rate 0 stars if I could
I wanted to give some feedback regarding our recent experience at ARB Elizabeth.
After a lot of consideration, we decided to invest in a bulbar and winch for our Land Rover Discovery. My husband went to the store to enquire about this, and was served by the rudest most unhelpful man (he didn’t get his name). My husband didn’t know exactly which winch he wanted, and asked advice, only to be belittled, presumably because he didn’t have the knowledge of the sales person. I thought the role of the sales person was to offer advice and make reco...
Read moremmendations. When my husband dropped the car in for the fitting, he said “I’m dropping my car off for a bulbar and winch”, to which the salesperson said “Oh, we’re doing a winch too, are we?”, as if it was a huge inconvenience to do this ‘extra’. That was my husband booked in the first place, so why didn’t they know they were fitting a winch??? And if he didn’t clarify, I assume it wouldn’t have been done. When my husband piked the car up, [name removed] did the handover. After my husband paid, [name removed] said to him “I’m not going to bamboozle you with information, the instruction book is in the car”. This is absolutely disgraceful customer service. We had just spent $4200, and he was not even willing to spend 10 minutes to go through the basic operation and safety instructions for the winch. When he returned home, my husband invited a friend (who thankfully has a winch on his car, and had some knowledge) to come and have a look. One of the first things he asked was “Has the rope been tensioned”. We have since found out this is quite important to do with a new winch. Nothing was mentioned about this on handover.Canopy Exploding Glass
New near ARB glass fitted to my D22 canopy. Went to close the lid and it exploded in my hands.
They said not under warranty because I fit it myself and I probably did it wrong.
I will not buy another or rep their brand. All just overpriced Chinese garbage.

ARB Bullbar Too Heavy for Amarok
We had an ARB Sahara bullbar fitted to our 2016 Amarok. I would not do it again. It is too heavy for the vehicle which now has a shudder running through it on most bumps. I would take it off but that is going to cost more money as a new front panel has to be fitted and painted. The only response from ARB was that we should have upgraded the suspension at a cost of a few thousand dollars!!
Yet another ARB exploding glass rear window.
This is the second rear ARB canopy window that has exploded for no reason in 2 months. The second time I was standing at the rear of vehicle when it happened. Lucky to not get a piece of this very sharp glass in my eye. A piece cut my chin. Something needs to be done about this before someone does loose a eye. ARB refuse to acknowledge there is a issue and refuse to replace under warranty.
Rude ARB staff and I will take my business elsewhere in future having been a loyal customer for many years with fully optioned vehicles all using ARB products.
ARB Accent Canopy rear window breakage
I have had two rear windscreens of my ARB Accent canopy break in 6 months for no reason - the car was parked in a garage both times. ARB refuse to cover on warranty despite a Google search showing breakage for no reason to be common. I am very disappointed in ARB and expected a much better product and a much better warranty service from them.

ARB canopy glass exploding
just had my canopy glass explode, the second one in three weeks
please be aware that ARB refuses to warrant their product
i am taking the matter up with Consumer Protection and would encourage others to do the same
i would like to point out that i am a Glazier with 30 years experience and a business owner in the glass industry
please do insist that ARB replace your canopy glass under warranty as there is clearly a fault in the manufacturing process
Exploding Glass April 2020
Looks like I just joined the ever increasing line of customer’s with rear glass exploding. It literally shattered in my hand and spread across the road and footpath. I just stood there in disbelief. No help from ARB. Just $1100 and 3 week wait to replace it. Cleaned up best I could but still getting glass splinters in my hand 4 days later. There was hundreds of tiny bits.

ARB ascent canopy
I have had an ARB ascent canopy on my ford ranger since new, it looks great, easy to use with central locking and just having to press a single button to release the side windows or back window is extremely easy. The only downside I’ve experienced is leaking through the back window seal (the seal that is actually under the aluminum window frame) it has started to perish and I imagine changing it would be more hassle than it’s worth, so I will probably sikaflex around the frame, inside and out.
Happy with the product overall, I will get a full aluminum canopy on my next vehicle, however if you’re in the market for a tub canopy, I think these are the pick of the bunch

rear glass of canopy on tailgate
vehicle sitting in driveway and rear glass tail gate of canopy exploded sending glass all over the area. Lucky no one was near the vehicle. Shame on you ARB if you are aware of this issue and not letting your customer know.

Sydney Artarmon - Worst Store Ever!!!
My wife & I paid $5,500 for 2 Recaro Seats to be fitted to our vehicle by ARB Artarmon store in Sydney. When my wife picked up the car from Artarmon, the rude little excuse for a salesperson insisted that my wife fully pay for the installation before he allowed her to even see the installation work which was done. We later found out why. Because when my wife, who is 172cm tall, tried to adjust the seat to the correct height she found there was no adjustment available and she was simply told by this rude little man, to "just sit on a pillow, l...
Read moreike his mum does". My wife told him that this is totally unacceptable for seats she had just paid $5,500 for and that he will need to rectify the installation. He told her he can`t and that she will have to come back another day because he has to order other parts for the baseframe of the seats first and that he will let her know when the parts come in. Guess what? We waited 2 weeks and he never rang back. I then rang and emailed ARB Artarmon a number of times to get this sorted out and then have the seat installation re-certified by an engineer once they fixed their stuff up. In the end, they weren`t prepared to have their work re-certified and they weren`t responding to my calls and emails anymore. So I just took it to proper professionals and had the installation fixed elsewhere, as we definitely didn`t trust that ARB were capable of doing the work properly. So beware, DO NOT GET ANY WORK done at ARB Artarmon Store!!Emergency services looked after

Yes.... Yet another exploding ARB rear canopy window
It would appear that the back window of the ARB canopy does in fact shatter and explode for no reason. We have footage on our surveillance camera showing the explosion at precisely 6:00 am with absolutely no reason for it to shatter. It would appear we are not the only people scratching our heads by what has happened to the canopy.
ARB side steps for BT50 2010.
I found this product to be substandard, it is seated far too high from the ground to be actually used as side steps, thus requiring an extra wide gait to be able to enter and exit the vehicle. When issue was brought to customer service attention, they claimed it was not a manufacturer's fault but a purchasers error. While it may not have a manufactured fault it clearly has a design fault, I find this issue is only with this model as all other ARB Mazda side steps sit below the door sill, as these perhaps should. After spending $1500 for this product I'm left with a dud car and an empty bank account.

Yes.. Another exploding canopy glass
Driving in outback.. looked in rear vision mirror and spotted the remains of my rear lid of my ARB Canopy. Shattered into a million pieces. On this trip, saw dozens of others with same issue. Rural general stores/ servos reported it to be a common problem and sold heaps of duct tape. Someone suggested it could be a harmonics/resonance problem. The glass is only 4mm thick. I will contact fair trading to see if this has been reported as a consumer issue. I'm doing this review to add to the list in case sufficient evidence is gathered for futu...
Read morere action against the manufacturer. I believe the replacement cost is extraordinary.. ($635 fitted) I am also getting a quote for a customised poly carbonate replacement which might be a better option than OEM.ieatwords.com.au has affiliate partnerships.
