ARB Hilux hard lid and Tango range.
I purchased a hilux last year and had some accessories fitted by ARB, through the dealer.
One of those items was the ARB hard lid and Tango system.
I now wish i had gone with the standard Toyota offering.
The ARB hard lid:
- difficult to close, gas struts are too much.
- leaks water, despite being one piece with the sports bar on top.
- wont close properly, the tango system internally fits poorly and seems to come loose often.

How bad is their delivery timing?
Have ordered our second Ascent canopy off ARB. The first one took forever and it seems like the second one will too (still waiting). Nice canopy but wow the timing of the delivery is terrible.

ARB are a bunch of cowboys (sorry cowboys)
I live about a Kilometre from one of ARB's outlets on South Road, Regency Park, SA. I've purchased 4 main items from them, a refrigerator/freezer, Bull-bar, Winch and an Auxiliary power generator system, for my Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.
The fridge now works, after problems with the auxiliary system have been fixed.
About 5years ago, I had a very high class bull-bar manufactured and fitted. What I wasn't told until after the work was carried out, was that the bodywork of the Toyota Prado would be cut and modified, which means the Bull-bar is...

ARB Canopy - Back window exploded when opened
Back window exploded when it was opened, Glass everywhere and all over my partner. No explanation and when ARB Canning Vale were called their response was, don't know... Now to pay another $700 for a replacement when clearly there is something wrong with these windows. After reading other reviews clearly ARB need to look after their customers and pay for replacement windows and not expect the customer to pay for an OBVIOUS design flaw
Dangerous, ARB back window exploded
ARB ascent canopy rear window exploded, for no apparent reason, parked at the time for about one hour, shattered glass thrown about 5 m, hate to be standing in front of it, rang ARB and was told it can't happen for no reason, well it did, now there out of stock, for some reason, I wonder what!!!
Springs sagged and tjm car outside the store and rep was organizing an account for the dealer
Purchased ome through the Toyota dealer in qld. I travelled from Brisbane to the Atherton tablelands and the rear springs had sagged very badly. I spoke to the local Toyota dealer and they were not interested. I spoke to the selling dealer and they pasted it off to arb. The arb dealer was not interested at all. I went back to Toyota and complained as I paid them for it all. While waiting for them to call back I went to another workshop to have a look and they advised me the springs needed replacement. The workshop I was at called the local arb ...
Read morestore and they were also not interested and told me I would need to pay for it again and try and claim it back. The car at this stage had under 2000 km on it. I went to store to show them my invoice ect from the purchase and found a tjm rep in the arb store sorting out an account wth. I purchased a new set of springs from the mechanic who was trying to help and took springs back to Brisbane after my cape trip was done. Beware. There dealer doesn’t even trust the product and we’re not interested in helping me with my new car. Don’t bother buying through dealer as they past the buck also.- 3 reviews
Great products great service
Booked my new ute for a bullbar, sports bar, Ute liner and tourneau cover. Very happy with the workmanship and quality. Also got a bushmaster light bar fitted and it's fantastic. Well done guys!

Great finish, not user friendly.
Classic canopies have useless grip "switch" type locks to the rear window. No actual handle. Not suitable to people with low grip or arthritic tendency. Solution please ARB.

Oldman emu springs sagged
Purchased ome 600kg suspension from Inverell 4x4 centre gave all specs to owner now springs have sagged ARB wont warrant never ever again absolutely disgusting customer service. Not once has the owner of store contacted me to resolve issues. The only time ARB head office contacted me was when i bagged them out on facebook. Car been back in shop 3 times for measurements and generally not doing much at all except for last visit where they swapped the springs from drivers side to passenger side and vice versa. Guess what springs are still the same absolute morons. Do not buy ARB .Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Single Compressor (the same as used with Air Lockers)
I purchased my ARB Air Compressor in 2011, I love it!
It’s been used heavily in that time and shows no signs of slowing down! Mounted in the cab of my 4wd, it’s kept clean and in a happy environment which aids it’s lifespan.
The only downside, the price! But.... you do get what you pay for with ARB.
Great investment

Should have known better
I’ve been into my local arb a few times, and every time I leave I tell myself I’m never going back. Well tried it again yesterday. Rude, uninterested and I get the feeling that if you don’t drive a Toyota or your not in there to spend a fortune, there’s no interest. So I went over to the tjm store, couldn’t have done more to help me, so they got my money. Arb you need to change your attitude.

Fantastic Canopy
Recently fitted an ARB Ascent canopy. The fit and finish is fantastic, with the colour matching the vehicle perfectly. The windows are all tinted, and the front window lifts up allowing access to clean the rear window of the vehicles cab. The remote locking linked to the vehicles central locking, and push button window release is a big step up from canopies with separate key locks for the windows and tailgate. There is a neat LED light to illuminate the canopy, and it has an air vent up front to pressurise the canopy and keep dust out, which se...
Read moreem so to have worked well when off roading. We optioned the lift up side windows which allow acces to items in the canopy. The Ascent is quite expensive, but has many features not offered on other canopies.- 8 reviews

Why so expensive?
Walked into the local ARB store today for a Quote on a bullbar for my new Ranger.
I was keen on the Ally bullbar & expected around $2.5k for it.
$3,700.00!!!!!!! What's it made from? Titanium??
They told me Rangers overheat with other manufacturers Bullbars but not with ARB.
So my new Ranger will overheat? I researched the Ranger extensively before I purchased it & have not read/seen any mention of them overheating.
Why do people need to sh*tcan other manufacturers in order to sell their product?
ARB have lost me out of principal. I'll not go back.

Shattered ARB Canopies TWO!!!
Our 2010 D-Max has now had TWO (2)!! rear glass windows on the canopy randomly shatter. One shattered on a bush track when the car was stopped (approx. 3 years ago). Three witnesses standing nearby. The 2nd one shattered in March this year. Again, car had been stopped for about 10 mins and it just randomly exploded. There were 4 adult witnesses and 3 witnesses under the age of 18 standing around the trailer attached to the vehicle when the explosion occurred. So glad I didn't have my head in there to get our gear out .... because that's wh...
Read moreat I was about to do. Can't believe they're not made of safety glass. We spent 1 hour picking up tiny pieces of shattered glass from our friend's dirt driveway.... not to mention the mess inside the canopy - shattered glass all through the kids motor bike boots, helmets, etc. Never had this happen with our TJM Canopy that we had with our previous Rodeo, and I note from other reviews it seems to be a common occurrence. Personally know another person this has happened to. I would definitely not recommend ARB Canopies. Potentially very dangerous!!! Can't believe they don't require safety glass!!Rear Window ARB Canopy shattered for no reason
Have had an ARB canopy for several years on my 2014 Nissan Navara D22 dual cab ute after purchasing and having it fitted by an ARB dealer in Ballina (since closed). The canopy has a built in heavy duty Rhino Rack roof rack system. Mine has lift up windows each side and a lift up rear glass window. The glass however has no frame as such, is hinged at the top and uses rubber seals around the edges. The rear glass window has two interior lift struts and two locks fitted, along with an internally mounted brake light. The canopy made a massive diffe...
Read morerence to functionality of carrying gear in a weather proof, relatively secure manner as compared to an open ute with tarp as it was previously. After a couple of years, the window locks developed a fault. This turned out to be a manufacturing fault and all were replaced free of charge by ARB. About 2.5 years ago, I accidentally smashed the rear glass window with a stone flicked up by a brush cutter I was using a few metres from the rear of my vehicle. About 2 weeks ago, I was working night shift with my vehicle parked in a car park which has CCTV cameras covering a large area of the car park, but my vehicle was just out of view. A work colleague had just arrived at work and parked his car in the same car park in a different row of vehicles and witnessed the incident as he stepped from his vehicle. About 5.55am the rear glass window blew out for no apparent reason. There was no one in or around the car park, the CCTV was checked to confirm this. There was no rock or other projectile found either inside the canopy or on the ground nearby which could have caused the damage. The sun wasn't fully up and it had been a relatively mild night temperature wise in terms of no sudden change in temperature. These windows are not laminated and break into very small pieces causing an enormous mess both inside and outside the vehicle canopy. Some glass fragments were projected approx. 3 metres from the back of my vehicle. Most of the glass was outside the vehicle on the ground. These windows are around $400 to replace, so quite expensive. As this window was only 2.5 years old and had no visible prior damage to it, I inquired with my Lismore ARB dealer as to any warranty cover for it. The reply was no. They were unable to explain any reason for this sudden shattering of the glass except to assume it must have had some damage prior. I can only conclude it is a design fault or manufacturing fault and it is disappointing that ARB, given the circumstances outlined, including a witness and CCTV, were not prepared to replace the glass window free of charge. I note that some other brands, for instance, TJM, have a frame around the glass edge. This may provide additional strength and support for the window and perhaps ARB should consider redesigning this particular product as otherwise, I have found it to be excellent. I have had to order a new rear window replacement from ARB at my expense. The retailer has offered a reduction in the fitting costs from $100 to $50 but overall, a very expensive occurrence. Lets hope history doesn't repeat!ARB canopy glass
Recently my Colorado was parked in my driveway for a week on the Sunday of my return my rear window of my ARB canopy blew out, canopy not 3 years old. Spoke to ARB told head office my problem as must had stone chip. Well 4 days later I have had the side window blown out and was more or less told someone must be throwing rocks. Now I find that a little bit to easy not once did I have any comments as to this is weird it is all. About stone chip s and temperature changes. While ARB sells good products I would suggest that my canopy may not be one ...
Read moreof them. So Mr ARB maybe your product is. Not 100% this time I would have to say customer service has not been the greatest in this situation. And I have been treated as if i am at fault and I feel like my honesty is been questioned always. Not a nice feeling.I have been contacted by ARB Queensland office. They listened to my concerns and agreed that there had been some communication issues.
Top notch staff
Ran into a bit of car trouble at the start of our holiday, with camper trailer in tow, we made it into ARB Gympie and there was instant relief! Not only was the service amazing, Craig = top lad, but the air conditioning was superb also lol. He had is back on the road in minutes. Couldn't recommend more highly! You're staff are a credit to you.

Terrible workmanship
ARB were to supply & fit red arc electric brake controller. Got there at 8am was to take approx tops of 2 hrs. I am waiting for my 4x4 but instead of 10am it was 2 pm. I paid for the work they had done got into my car drove onto south road got a good run with traffic lights until I had to stop had to use gears to slow down 2 feet on the brake pedal and use hand brake to pull up at 20 kms per hour. They knew there was a problem that's why it took so long to fix it and gave a car with no brakes. Arb told me to take it Toyota I lost my car for a w...
Read moreeek and Toyota told me they would not charge ARB as they receive work from them. Toyota did not tell me what happened. That's not all Arb drilled a hole in the floor from under body to put a cable through put silicon half around cable went up north dust got into drivers side seat belts and stopped them working. Their workmanship is terrible and dangerous.window explosion
recently had the misfortune of my front window on my Arb classic canopy shatter/ explode for no apparent reason whilst parked in the shade on a 40C day whilst at work. Canopy only 31/2 months old. Replacement cost to fit quoted $695..has anybody else had this happen to themskillsa

Terrible service and responsibility to public
First was cheated on my LC200 accessories then inadequate for my needs suspension upgrade. Driving my Lc200 Sahara towing 3000kg caravan (total value of $200000) plus passengers was grocely over my GVM. Didn’t bother them knowing my circumstances (exposing my family and other road users to a hazard plus voiding my insurance for Car and caravan) as long as they get my money. Need to know answer to your questions before you go to them. Unbelievable substandard of service to public. Spoke with state level managers and was told off. Keep away from them if you value your life and investment.

cant get better
bought an arb 35 litre fridge/freezer after a lot of research. needed certain dimensons to fit under the lid of my ute. the arb fridge ticks all the boxes. 35 litres is plenty for 2 people. its cools quicker than my old mans tried and tested waeco. draws hardly any power.cans at beer at 1/2 degrees is better than mothers milk. you could save some money on a cheaper version or just save for an extra month and invest in a quality fridge from a proven retailer.

Just a show pony, not practable at all.
Just had an ARB ascent canopy and hugely disappointed, What a show pony. You can not access anything from the side windows as they are too high and too small. The front window is a joke as it flaps around when left open and should slide for air when needed. The rear window is too small and restricts the rear view. The way it sits on the ute is terrible as it does not look like its meant to be there with that ridicules skirt, all in all a show pony thats no good for camping or tradies. Having said that its my stupid fault for selecting it as the...
Read morere other canopies are ok, I just though like a lot of others that it comes from ARB and is there premier canopy and just would be great but its not. Just hate it.I have had many canopies before at half the price that were far more practicable. FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION ARB or it should.I should note that it was fitted by The Edge at West Gosford who did a great job and always do. Its my fault just should have looked at another one first. ARB Hoppers Crossing awesome so far
Over the past few years i have had ARB in Hoppers Crossing do all the accessories for my Toyota Prado 120, Had Airbag Man Load helpers in the rear, ARB Bullbar fitted and a Redarc Tow-Pro Elite as well. So far the over the phone quotes have been accurate and with no hidden costs which is nice. They can tend to be on the more expensive side when i comes to getting gear fitted but they have always done a top job.

brilliant piece of kit.......cant praise enough
I bought the ARB ascent canopy, redarc BCDC charger and a couple of "other" items from the local arb retailer, had it installed by Trent at Kadina, had a few "other" modifications done at the same time to the truck......brilliant service, brilliant fellers to deal with and the work cannot be faulted
a BIG well done from me that's for sure......see you shortly for the reversing camera and the diesel filter
