ARB canopy glass exploding
just had my canopy glass explode, the second one in three weeks
please be aware that ARB refuses to warrant their product
i am taking the matter up with Consumer Protection and would encourage others to do the same
i would like to point out that i am a Glazier with 30 years experience and a business owner in the glass industry
please do insist that ARB replace your canopy glass under warranty as there is clearly a fault in the manufacturing process

Exploding Glass April 2020
Looks like I just joined the ever increasing line of customer’s with rear glass exploding. It literally shattered in my hand and spread across the road and footpath. I just stood there in disbelief. No help from ARB. Just $1100 and 3 week wait to replace it. Cleaned up best I could but still getting glass splinters in my hand 4 days later. There was hundreds of tiny bits.

ARB ascent canopy
I have had an ARB ascent canopy on my ford ranger since new, it looks great, easy to use with central locking and just having to press a single button to release the side windows or back window is extremely easy. The only downside I’ve experienced is leaking through the back window seal (the seal that is actually under the aluminum window frame) it has started to perish and I imagine changing it would be more hassle than it’s worth, so I will probably sikaflex around the frame, inside and out.
Happy with the product overall, I will get a full aluminum canopy on my next vehicle, however if you’re in the market for a tub canopy, I think these are the pick of the bunch

rear glass of canopy on tailgate
vehicle sitting in driveway and rear glass tail gate of canopy exploded sending glass all over the area. Lucky no one was near the vehicle. Shame on you ARB if you are aware of this issue and not letting your customer know.

Window failure Latch broken again. ARB said pop out window must be closed while driving . It is disappointing and annoying. I would not recommend ascent canopy especially one with pop out windows

Sydney Artarmon - Worst Store Ever!!!
My wife & I paid $5,500 for 2 Recaro Seats to be fitted to our vehicle by ARB Artarmon store in Sydney. When my wife picked up the car from Artarmon, the rude little excuse for a salesperson insisted that my wife fully pay for the installation before he allowed her to even see the installation work which was done. We later found out why. Because when my wife, who is 172cm tall, tried to adjust the seat to the correct height she found there was no adjustment available and she was simply told by this rude little man, to "just sit on a pillow, l...Read more
ike his mum does". My wife told him that this is totally unacceptable for seats she had just paid $5,500 for and that he will need to rectify the installation. He told her he can`t and that she will have to come back another day because he has to order other parts for the baseframe of the seats first and that he will let her know when the parts come in. Guess what? We waited 2 weeks and he never rang back. I then rang and emailed ARB Artarmon a number of times to get this sorted out and then have the seat installation re-certified by an engineer once they fixed their stuff up. In the end, they weren`t prepared to have their work re-certified and they weren`t responding to my calls and emails anymore. So I just took it to proper professionals and had the installation fixed elsewhere, as we definitely didn`t trust that ARB were capable of doing the work properly. So beware, DO NOT GET ANY WORK done at ARB Artarmon Store!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Yes.... Yet another exploding ARB rear canopy window
It would appear that the back window of the ARB canopy does in fact shatter and explode for no reason. We have footage on our surveillance camera showing the explosion at precisely 6:00 am with absolutely no reason for it to shatter. It would appear we are not the only people scratching our heads by what has happened to the canopy.

ARB side steps for BT50 2010.
I found this product to be substandard, it is seated far too high from the ground to be actually used as side steps, thus requiring an extra wide gait to be able to enter and exit the vehicle. When issue was brought to customer service attention, they claimed it was not a manufacturer's fault but a purchasers error. While it may not have a manufactured fault it clearly has a design fault, I find this issue is only with this model as all other ARB Mazda side steps sit below the door sill, as these perhaps should. After spending $1500 for this product I'm left with a dud car and an empty bank account.

Yes.. Another exploding canopy glass
Driving in outback.. looked in rear vision mirror and spotted the remains of my rear lid of my ARB Canopy. Shattered into a million pieces. On this trip, saw dozens of others with same issue. Rural general stores/ servos reported it to be a common problem and sold heaps of duct tape. Someone suggested it could be a harmonics/resonance problem. The glass is only 4mm thick. I will contact fair trading to see if this has been reported as a consumer issue. I'm doing this review to add to the list in case sufficient evidence is gathered for futu...Read more
re action against the manufacturer. I believe the replacement cost is extraordinary.. ($635 fitted) I am also getting a quote for a customised poly carbonate replacement which might be a better option than OEM.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

ARB canopy leaking
I purchased a classic plus canopy for a new Amarok in Feb 2018 and had ARB fit it. Within a month I had a rear strut replaced and over time I noticed a leak coming in from somewhere at the front nearside. I returned it to be serviced and ARB had the car all day. I was assured the problem was fixed. Sure enough next rain the same leak occurred. Again ARB took the car for the day and assured me again it was fixed. Again next rain same leak. After this ARB to their credit replaced the canopy with the top of the line Ascent canopy and I was assured...Read more
it could not leak as the canopy hangs over the tray. Sure enough first rain the same leak. When I rang ARB I was told it wasn't possible it couldn't be leaking. After assuring the rep it was I was then told it must be a fault with the utes tray. The ute is new, its done no four wheel driving or towing and hasn't been involved in any accidents. Further if there was an imperfection ARB had the canopy off three times and didn't notice a fault with the tray. Once again after having enough of wet stuff in the back of my car three months ago (4/2019) I booked it in again to be fixed and was told they didnt think they could fix it. The following week I cancelled the service as I saw no point in not having my car for the day for no result. So now I have a $4500 (fitted) canopy that leaks and fogs up so I cant see out the back. I've attached a short video showing the leak . The car was stationary, on a flat driveway and hadn't been driven. The rain was light. My advice would be there isn't much use paying top dollar for ARB canopies.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Expensive junk
Today, while Ute not in use, the rear glass of my ascent canopy exploded all over the footpath and road. I was in a shop buying my lunch. Some glass fell into the tub. Nobody was near the Ute fortunately. Now driving with plastic taped on until I can get this sorted.
Canopy initially leaked like a sieve until I siliconed and taped all joins.
Rear lock has stopped working three times so far. Servo’s and switches faulty.
This canopy cost a lot of money and so far I’ve had a problem every six months.
