To be honest that's the same with me. That wasn't the problem back when I was using their Load & Go.

Hi Dead,

Pending transactions can be annoying as it can take a few days for them to clear so it's hard to see what your balance is. Have you registered your card so you can check the balance online? Here is a link to how to register -

Yes I registered my card on the day I got it. I had no such problems with the load and go card and honestly I'll be moving away from this card asap.

Hi Mary,

This is a pre paid card not a bank account so there is no bsb number available. When transferring money over
from your bank account you'll have to option to transfer a card.

Hope this helps!

Hi Samantha,

You may not be able to link it. Can you tell me what the error code is when you do try?

Priscila

Samantha
Samantha

There is no error code, it says "this card was declined. Please use a different card and try again, or contact your bank for assistance"
I did call the help line yesterday and they advised that there are no direct debits from this card. It is only for purchases, which is what this is.
Is there a way around this?

Priscila L.Australia Post

I'm afraid not Samantha if the website does not accept your card there's no way around this.

Two questions:
i) What are the transaction fees whenever I purchase a product online?
ii) I've purchased something last night and it says in transaction history "PENDING" still. My balance has not decreased by the amount I've paid.. I'm worried that I've paid it without using my own money.

My Australia Post Mastercard could not be linked to Paypal. I phoned the help-line and was told Paypal was rejecting it. I called Paypal Help, and they said Australia Post was rejecting it. The card works elsewhere (e.g. Amazon), so is Paypal rejecting it or is Australia Post rejecting the Paypal linkage?

Hi Michael,

The card can be used anywhere however it's up to the website if they want to accept pre-paid cards. Australia Post have no way of rejecting a card so it would be Paypal's decision whether they want these cards allowed on their website.

Hi Ray. Like other credit cards, there is no bsb and account number. That is for bank accounts, not credit cards.

Hi Ryan,

The Everyday Mastercard is a prepaid card that you can load money onto however it is not a bank account so it does not have a BSB or Account number.

Is there a way to withdraw all the money I have on the card and cancel it?

4 answers

Hi TheyJustWantYourMoney.
I'm not really sure. I did withdraw most of my funds when I saw two fraudulent transactions, MasterCard charged 2.95% fee to withdraw cash from an ATM, but I left enough to cover some monthly payments. I am waiting, in hope, to see if my monthly payments actually get paid before I make any rash decisions. Needless to say, I'm looking for alternatives.
Stitch

Thanks for the reply Stitch,
I think I may withdraw my money and look for alternatives. I have no monthly payments on the card, just wanted it for casual online shopping which I now can't do. No point in it being stuck in the card until something goes wrong. If you ever find an alternative, please let me know. Not sure what to do in the meantime.
Cheers.

You can certainly get the funds off this card back to your bank account, follow these steps

Log in to ‘My Account’.
Select ‘Transfer money’ and then select ‘Cash out to a bank account’.
Select all of the currencies you’d like to cash out.
Enter the full amount you’d like to cash out for each currency.
Enter your bank account details (account name, BSB, account number). Double check these details to ensure a successful cash out.
Select ‘Complete cash out’ and you’re done!

I’m unsure about how nz post office operates but I cannot see why should be any problems doing so.. phone the number on the rear of the card if any issues, but I’d demand at the counter to not help to add money but to also check that it’s not suspended or locked.

Hi Janette,

This can be used anywhere that Mastercard is accepted :) Hope you have a great trip!! Keep in mind, you can also load NZ dollars onto the card.

Why does this work on barely any sites? I'm having serious trouble using it even on trusted sites like ebay or Amazon, I don't get it.

Additionally, when I was having trouble transferring money online, I tried converting it to USD (The currency it was asking for), but it didn't work- When I converted it back to AUD, I'd lost $30! What's happened here??

I cant use this card with Amazon Digital or Amazon gift cards. Amazon say they get a generic decline from the card issuer. Called customer 'service' and they say that the transaction 'does not meet the approval criteria' due to security reasons. Huh? This is Amazon, one of the the biggest online stores in the world! WTH is it with this card??? Totally useless
