It would seem we’re having a similar issue with Baby-Direct re product not in stock and having to wait (which isn’t an issue providing we get what we ordered before the kid arrives). However they have now started to ask my partner for copies of her Drivers Licence to prove she’s not fraudulent. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

I did provide my driver's license and said I was happy to wait the few weeks it would take to come in. But then after waiting the time they estimated, I got another email saying it would be another few weeks. I would ask for a refund now and shop somewhere else.

No, I haven't been asked for my driver's licence. I would strongly advise against providing. After my experience, I wouldn't advise anyone to doing business with them.

I ordered something from baby-direct on the 11th March 2015, which is now 4 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived. I've sent emails to [email protected] that have gone unanswered. I've tried calling them on the main number 1300859808 and also another number I found listed on the website, which is 03 9429 2141. No-one has answered any of my calls. Is this business still operational or has it gone bust???? How do I get in touch to chase up delivery of an item that I have paid for?

Unfortunately they are still operating. We found someone usually answered the phone. To get the parts we had been waiting on my husband kept ringing one afternoon asking to speak to the manager Jerry. Eventually he annoyed them enough that he spoke to him and they sent it the next day. Because they are online they think they are untouchable and ignore customers. If you have only been waiting 4 weeks you probably have a long wait ahead of you. It took ours 3 months.

I continually kept ringing, if you do get through just ask for the manager because the girls are useless liars and rude. I threatened them with consumer affairs and getting a refund as I was in my rights. If worse comes to worse the shops in Richmond go in and refuse to leave otherwise you will be waiting forever.
