Is there a bassinet for the city select that doesn't require you to convert your second seat? I will have 3 children under 4 and want to be able to grab either 2 seats or bassinet and 1 seat, depending on what we are doing, without having to convert it every time.

Thank you

Yes, if you google the “city select deluxe bassinet” this just clips in. They are $350 new but you can usually pick up one on gumtree in good condition second hand

Hi Kara, the Baby Jogger Deluxe Bassinet is a complete unit. It also has far better features and material quality than the standard bassinet kit (which requires an existing seat to convert it into a bassinet). The Deluxe Bassinet does not state on the box that it can be used for City Select models however I personally have used it with the adapters. I visited Baby Bunting to see if my adapters would fit a Mini XT (as I had my bassinet for sale) and Baby Bunting staff were unaware that the bassinet could be used on City Select so I showed them! Adapters are available via Ebay. Best bassinet ever! Well worth the purchase.

Hi was wondering if you can use the bassinet up top facing you and toddler seat down bottom facing outwards?

You can but it's not a listed configuration, and it's a tight squeeze! The bassinet has to have the canopy removed, then but it in the upper adapters in the upright setting ( as if it was the seat sitting upright) then put the lower seat in. Then straighten the bassinet ( it will push the back front chair out a little, making it sit more upright) you have to push a little but it does work :) I'd send you a pic but I can't figure out how on here!

Hi how easy/not easy is it to switch the BJCS from bassinet to capsule using adapters ? We have the bassinet on but just hired a capsule fir convenience sake! Thinking if switching when we need depending on how easy it is, otherwise bassinet will be wasted. Bubs is 5 weeks so should still get around 4-5 months i hope.

Very easy! I constantly switched between the bassinet and capsule. I'm not sure if it matters which capsule you use, but I used an older maxi cosi that required adaptors to be attached to the pram before the capsule could be used, for the bassinet you just remove the adaptors and ready for use. Its great to let the baby have some room in the bassinet as those capsules do get hot.

Can you buy replacement seat and hood fabric for the baby jogger city select? Mine are really faded.

I have a new one to sell, not sure if you can buy just the fabric through a retailer though.
I got a replacement one as one of the two that came with my pram had a small hole in the fabric (I'm keeping that one). They just sent a replacement out to me from America, where i purchased the pram.

You can buy a new canopy from the amazing baby company. Also, bugaboo buffalo and donkey hoods fit the select, but you need to buy hoods and clamps from bugaboo to use them.

Hi ladies. I got a second hand black BJCS from a friend but the seats are quite old and faded but the frame is still perfect. I was wondering, can I just buy two "second seats" and put them on the frame? Does anyone know if the second seats are both the they same size? Are they exactly the same??

Britax, maxi cost, Chicco, peg perrego. Maxi Cosi is the easiest to put on, only requires one adaptor part

Great gift!! I actually got both the bassinet and the capsule (secondhand). The bassinet was GREAT for us. Not just attached to the stroller out and about, but at home as well where bub would sleep in it. The capsule is great as you don't disturb bub if they fall asleep while you're out. BUT if you have a summer bub I'd avoid the capsule. They get REALLY hot in there. The bassinet and regular car seats have a lot more air flow.

If you are only getting 1 seat then it probably will lay on top of the frame ok. But 2 seats probably be too tight. Best to see the pram in person and judge for yourself. My first car was a corolla sedan and it fit in that fine.

I drive a Holden Barina & the BJCS plus the second seat fits in the boot. I have to stand the frame and seats up rather than lie them flat but thats not a problem. If it fits in a small car like a barina I would say it wpuld fit in a Trax. I asked the store to put it in my boot before I purchased it in case it didn't fit. Pram stores are used to obliging to that common request so I suggest you do that just to be sure. Hope this helps.

Hi, is it possible to recline one or both seats when the children are in it? Or do you have to take one off first? With my first, there have been plenty of times she has distracted upright and then fallen asleep. I'm now expecting twins and looking for a pram that suits.

Hi... Yes both seats can be reclined at the same time. Since posting the post my hubby has removed the lowest seat holders n has place them up higher up on the top of the first seat holders. This has given me much more needed room between seats when i have them any way now..... The only thing is the handle now will not recline down but that's fine it still folds to a good size.... Good luck with your twins...

amberbow

You can recline one or both but only in certain configurations so you need to plan in advance if one is going to fall asleep. I've now bought a bugaboo donkey and if you can spend the money it is so much more flexible, so worthwhile, especially for twins!

Can anyone tell me if the BJCS with two seats (or one seat, one bassinet) will fit in the boot of a Commodore (VY) sedan? Plus with room for groceries would be awesome.

Hi there,
I just googled a pic of the car and I'd say it would. The seats would stack on top of each other and the pram folds fairly compactly especially if you empty the basket before folding. I'm sure a retailer like Baby Bunting would allow you to test it out with one of their demo prams to be sure.
Cheers,
Adriana

I think it would, youd just have to fit the groceries in and around on top of the pram.

I have a Nissan 200sx (2 Door Sports car) and it can fit the Pram, 2 Seats, 2 Kids school bags and a 1 weeks gorceries. After looking up your car boot I doubt you'd have a problem.

Thinking of getting the city select double or abc zoom. Hate that abc is a lot more roomier but cant be used as a single. Do kids tend to kick each other in city select and is the basket easy to access? Also can front toddler seat recline with capsule at the back ?

2 answers
kh11

i don't have any experience with the abc zoom, but just googled it and it looks pretty cool. I have had my bigger child kick the younger one before. could be solved by changing the configuration to face out. they like looking at each other though. basket still easily accessible from the back where you push. I remember having troubles with the reclining of seats. or I just haven't worked it out yet. but you can recline the seat then put the capsule on. but from memory I think it either just hits the capsule or it doesn't go past. cant remember. kinda haven't used the double pram for as much as I was expecting. I just baby carried the youngest, was easy for me. best of luck.

We didnt have a capsule seat so I cant give any advice on that.

But with the 2 standard seats, yes the front could recline but not much. And yes little miss in the back enjoyed annoying her brother in the front.

It was never really a problem for us, because there are quite a few configuration options it always worked out, and on many occasions we had them both sleeping reclined at the same time. A lot fo the time we had them facing each other because they got to play and annoy one another while we pushed them around like servants.

The bottom is very easily accessed, there are 2 zip that can 'open' up the bottom a bit more, we often get to things from the side too. ie: drink bottles.

Looking up the ABC Zoom it definetly looks to be more accomodating to having 2 kids reclined and the seat & capsule combo. With that said though, it looks a fair bit longer than the City Select, one of the things I've loved the most about the city selct is how easily it gets around. In 4 years I have never once had trouble manouvering it, even with a 4yo, a 3yo and all their kit loaded up.

As kh11 said, you can recline the front seat and THEN place the capsule on so they overlap, it is how we would often load the 2 seats when our daughter was still a baby.
We would place the front seat on and then recline it to a point where the back seat (closest to you when you are pushing) was able to recline so that our daughter was flat.

Whatever you go with I hope it brings you many years of joy!

Be aware that there are two sizes of seat. I think the first seat that comes with the pram is bigger than the second seat you buy separately (or vice versa, I can't remember which is which now). Also the bigger seat has two heights for the hood so that you can move it up when your child is taller.

Carolyn Donovan

The 2 seats on the city select are both exactly the same size, not different as stated above. You can't buy bigger seats, but I have heard the baby jogger versa seat fits on the city select.

Hello:)
I am going to purchase the double BJCS and have a few questions before I do
1) can't decide which Color would be the best to keep it looking great. I'm getting the black frame but can't decide between the red and silver. I only get to see colors from pictures not in person
2) do I need the support bar for the capsule
3) have heard so many different reviews on its weight . I have a strider plus and it's really heavy to lift into my ute and house. Is it much different?
Thanks guys

Hi there. I don't have the capsule attachment so can't advise you on that part of your question. I have black and it's very easy to look after. However there are a lot of black prams out there and can understand if you'd prefer a colour. I know a couple of people with the red. The red is a nice colour - fairly bright but not out there :-) I would have got the red if I didn't go for black. My last pram (Stokke) was red and I have to say red is great from a safety perspective when crossing roads etc. Ive seen the silver in the flesh and it's very shiny. A bit "outer space" looking. Personally is go the red over the silver. Weight wise it's not light but probably the same or a bit lighter than my stokke. The way it collapses is very easy and pretty compact so I don't find it too bad putting it in the boot. Good luck!

Ok thanks so much. You have made my mind up for me! Lol. I'll go the red. Where I live there is lots of busy roads to cross so you've definitely helped me . Thanks again

Has anyone got the 2014/2015 model with the black frame? If so, does it scratch easy from folding & if so, does it show the silver titanium through it? Does the black frame also get really hot in sun? I put one on laby but now really not sure & you can't buy silver ones unless I got it second hand. Thanks:-)

I have the black framed model and it doesn't scratch easily. You certainly don't see any silver underneath. Havent noticed it getting hot in the sun and to be honest I doubt it would get any hotter than the shiny silver frame would.

I've just bought a city select as we have a 1 year old and expecting another. We had the city mini gt and LOVED it so am still a bit sad we have to get rid of it. However, we've only had the city select a week and I've noticed when I unfold it the seat is a little unstable? It clicks into place but I can still wobble it. Is this normal or have I done something wrong??!

I haven't noticed my seats wobbling at all. They are very sturdy. I do take the seats off to fold the pram and put them in the car boot separately to the frame. Perhaps take it into a baby store and get them to check it?

No my seats don't wobble. I'd Definately take it back and ask for them to check it
