What is the pint of sending a question when nobody answers

Rhino
Lisa A.Rhino

We don't work on weekends sorry Tania, the GSP units are proper outdoor fridges to work in 43oC ambient plus temps, you can hear units running, glass door fridges are not silent. We do have quiet fan upgrade options, where we alter fans to lower RPM (revs per minute, slower speed) per unit, and they become much more quiet. The trade off is they use more energy, take longer to pull down in temperature and you lose a small part of the temp consistency throughout the cabinet, none of these things are easy at all to notice. If you want to explore those costs please call us on Monday, 03 53376399 and speak to Monique. The website clearly states you can hear rhe fridge running etc. They are lowest energy consumption units on Australian market.
Hear soon.

Hi, Ive just obtained a secondhand rhino 2 glass door fridge (Sc2870). Comparing the model number to current (9000), I guess it may be a few years old and cannot locate manual for this model online. Replaced fan and unit appears to be running well. Cool beer! Is the unit supposed to run all the time? It doesn't appear to shut down as temp reached?

Hi Harrie, can you email to admin@bar-fridges-australia, as then we can give all info and attach the old manual. Those units are 8-10years old, the one you mentioned is the next version, but much more energy efficent.

I purchased mine in Jan 2018 but it is single door. I replaced very noisy fan with lower speed model and thought that it might have to run much longer to maintain temperature but it seems to hold at about 0.5degC with possibly less fan running time even on very hot days (in alfresco).

Rhino
Lisa A.Rhino

I really don't see what you are meaning here, 0.5oC is nearly ZERO. Have you got cold drinks? As that's all you need to worry about. If you want more info please email [email protected]

Hi, just had the Rhino Envy 2 Door Alfresco outdoor frige installed. Love it, its quiet and seems to be working well...but every so often dEF shows up on the panel. I have looked in the little booklet that came with the frige but there is no mention of this or a trouble shooting page. Would love to know what this means and if its a problem ? Many thanks. M

Def is defrost mode, 4 times a day the fridge does this, its normal operation, if you have cold drinks it is all you really need to worry about have a good break.

Stupid question but just got this bar fridge installed in my outdoors alfresco do you turn it off after use or do you leave it running all year round?

1 answer
Rhino
Lisa A.Rhino

it's like a normal fridge, you leave it running if you want cold drinks. If you turn it off then drinks can 'spoil', but if you are not using it much, just use the "ECO" button (Hold 'ES' for 4 seconds), it changes the operation to cool 5-10oC instead of 0-4oC, so it keeps drinks still ok and saves energy. The units are the lowest energy consumption on market anyway. Hope that helps. If your worry is 'noise level' we do have quiet fan upgrade options, so let us know if that is the case, email [email protected] and Monique or Damian will assist.

We were gifted 2 door fridge for Christmas 2026. Used about 1/2 dozen times only because we cant leave it on due to condensation and volumes of water pooling on floor. about to move into new house and want to resolve this problem so it can be used regularly. Any suggestions?

I take it you mean 2016.., need to know your location, as all glass door fridges, depending on the 'glass used' will condensate water in high humidity, usually anything over 55% RH, but the model you have can handle 75% as it has special LOW E glass. So if your location is like Sydney and North of Sydney or up high like Cairns it will condensate for sure. If you give us your email we can send more info like what we clearly display on every listing...., so people KNOW what they are buying. The only way to stop condensation 100% is HEATED Glass Doors, which we have plenty of options also. I suppose being 'gifted' you don't ave the luxury about talking to us properly about what you 'really' need and what 'really' suits.
Is it in fact model a Rhino Fridge model GSP2H-840-SS? Hear soon with your contact and location details.

Thanks for the reply. I am in Darwin so yes at times we have high humidity, but the unit does the same wet or dry season, whether or not there is high humidity. Model GSP2H-865

Ens is 'Energy Saving Mode'. To put back in normal mode press and hold the 'ES' button for 3 seconds. Normal operation the fridge cycles between 0 and 4 (0>4), in energy saving mode it cycles between 5 and 8 (5>8), usually Ens mode is for when you go away etc.

Thanks for that, I finally figured it out. But over night it changed back to ESM. I've changed it back to NoR, but it's wired it changed by its self. Is it supposed to do that? Steelone

ive had this bar fridge for couple of years hasent missed a beat until now has started freezing the beer what has happened and how do I fix it? thanks

It is more than likely a power spike has blown the 'relay' in controller that controls the compressor. This means it runs and gets 'stuck' running and cant turn off. The controller will need to be replaced, can you email the service team at [email protected] and we can start process. If you are only a few months outside the 2 year warranty we can still supply the controller and technician no charge, so get your invoice details when you make contact:)

Hi my name is Liz and we have a Rhino greensense 2 door outdoor fridge not sure of exact model - sg0, sg1, sg2h, sg2s, sg3h & sg3s these numbers were on the manual cover. We seem to be having an issue with the temp control. The temp keeps going up from -0.1 to 4.0 and down again in a repeat cycle. After a while the fridge emits a high pitched noise and to stop it we have to open and close the doors.
Can anyone help with this is it normal?
Thanks in advance
Liz

When mine is in energy saving mode the temperature fluctuates by about 5/6 degrees and that's what it's supposed to do (When it's in the normal mode the temp doesn't move much which is great but it uses a lot more power). I would be calling service about the high pitched - that doesn't sound right.

Rhino
Lisa A.Rhino

Hi Liz, This site is a review site not a blog to discuss questions and troubleshoot, the best way to help you here is email us direct on [email protected] or me direct on [email protected]. The way your fridge is cycling is exactly how they work, all fridges do, you have a 4oC variance between compressor ON/OFF, so the product is usually about halfway, when temp gets to ZERO(0oC) it turns OFF, unit then slowly will rise to 4oC (or 5minutes compressor OFF time) before coming ON again. The high pitched noise that 'stops' when you open doors is very odd, if anything you should hear inner fan noise when you OPEN door. These have German EBM fans that are extremely rare to fail, so i doubt fan is wrong. And the fans are special quieter ones, lower noise than 99% of market, at 39Db (most are 50-55Db), so we need to know more about this when you email us, try to make a sound file maybe on your mobile and attached etc. Hear soon Liz:)
PS. Thanks to Simoga above :), and just so you know the Rhino SG units and Rhino GSP units are the 2 lowest energy consumption glass door fridges on Oz market.

Theres also an economy mode that I use from time to time - the fan won't work as hard during this mode but the temperature will sit a little higher.

Thank you Monique for your prompt attention 1st class. One other question as this fridge is one of many fridges I have, when the Rhino is not needed in my alfresco can it be switched off from the front or do I need to pull the fridge out from under the bench and switch the power off from the power point. Kind regards Dick.
