Perfect size

published

ALDI had these on sale back in June July and they are a great size but are easy to move around. The picture and sound is so clear and it takes our Apple TV perfectly. We watch Netflix etc. the remote has nice size buttons so easy to use. We actually went back and bought a second TV

Blew up after 17 months

published

Bought this about 1.5 years ago. Terrible sound, needed soundbar. Remote control needed multiple presses. Video and sound sometimes didn't sync. Played with it because it was cheap, but never been happy. Now it's not long pot of warranty and it blew up...literally. Big bang, then smoke came out of the back. Don't buy this, spend a bit more and get a brand name one.

Honestly you get what you pay for with ALDI

published

It was advertised that it had many special apps and features, but most of the applications are built in TV Guides and ugly windows that pop up and to show you the weather. The interface when using the remote is very annoying, the remote is very slow with the connection to the TV, and graphics look like a windows 98 computer when you scroll through the app menu. The picture quality is nothing to rave about, it is only 1080i, not even 1080p full HD. But what can you really expect with Aldi, you get what you pay for I guess. But what you're really paying for is a HDTV. Next time I would spend a little more money a buy something like a Samsung TV that will last you years.

Bad buy - 58" 4K Ultra High Definition LED LCD Smart TV - ALDI

published

Bought the 58" 4K Ultra High Definition LED LCD Smart TV from Aldi. Just about 3 months later the TV started with issues. Sometimes it takes few minutes before the pic appears after switched on. Does not happen all the time. Just outside warranty, then it would loose pic (keep audio going) for anything to 10 minutes at a time and then just comes back on. Was informed by Aldi it is outside its 12 months warranty.... I got that fixed but the issue of taking time to show pic when switched on, still happens every time. Next call will be taking it to the tip. Good buy, no, no!

Average

published

Everything about this TV is average, especially the sound. The functions will drive your crazy and the remote quality is awful from touch to function. Save your money and buy a better product. The plus side easy to get your money back. Customer service is excellent, shame the TV is not.

OK for the price for a 58 inch 4K TV. Questionable reliability.

published

Great picture in high definition but ordinary otherwise. Very poor sound, benefits greatly from a soundbar. Does not come with many apps, so need to use a media player set-top box, like an apple tv or roku, for easy access to netflix.
Was reasonably satisfied with it, but broke down after 4 months, and was eventually allowed a refund after 5 weeks of waiting for parts for repair.

Return it before 12 monty warranty expires!

published

I bought the 65" 4K TV for $1200 and it has issues where there will be no video and only audio, and then the screen flicks intermittently and repeats itself. Every time it has an episode it goes for 5-10 minutes. I have owned the TV for 4 months and it is doing it more often. Bauhn wanted evidence of the issue so I videoed and sent it to them. They don't have more stock now but Aldi will refund me fully before 12 months is up. you can always buy one and return it every year before the warranty is void but I think better to cough up and buy a Samsung

The TV is fine; just be sure to update the firmware.

published

After setting up the TV, I noticed that the set would repeatedly shut down when changing past one specific channel.

After updating the firmware via a USB thumb drive (see http://www.bauhn.com.au/65inch-uhd-tv-software-update.html for the firmware file and installation instructions), the problem seems to have been resolved.

Video and audio quality are fine especially when weighed up against the cost of the unit. Overall, I'm satisfied with the product.

best value Tv

published

I have purchased my 2nd bauhn in past 3 years, first tv lasted 3 years and it was just repaired by me i replaced the capacitors in the power supply as im a qualified tv repairman, now its runs like new and use it as a second tv. (As for the remote it was beyond repair and i reprogrammed a universal remote).
I just bought the 48" ATVU48-1015
Great value for $599 why spend more on other brand tv's your only wasting your money. Most tvs only last enough to get past warranty date. Its the way the industry works now. Keep the spending cycle.

Do yourself a favour and run down to aldi a buy yourself a bauhn's TV "molly meldrum"

65 in Bauhn tv turns itself off after just turning it on

published

I purchased the Bauhn 65 in Tv a couple of months ago. I had it still in the box as I was moving into my newly built home. I've had it working for 3 days! I turn it on, then it went off whilst I was in the kitchen. I thought that was strange, turned it on, the Bauhn logo comes up, then it turns off again. Anyone have any suggestions? I will ring Bauhn tomorrow to see what is causing this. But I wanted people aware of what I am experiencing as a consumer.

Turns itself off when WiFi is active

published

Picture good but terrible tinny sound. Remote too compact and sometimes while changing channels or adjusting sound, turns the TV off! Yesterday I set up WiFi reception on TV. Now the TV turns it self off after 10 minutes. once WiFi was turned off, this issue dissapeared. I will take it back as soon as I can get it back into the box and withibn the 60 day period..

Bought the 55inch 4K TV from Aldi for $800 on Saturday. The picture quality is not great. None of the standard settings is very nice. The sound is absolutely appalling. We can't listen to the TV through its own speakers. We have to use surround sound. Glad it has a satisfaction return warranty. I'll be taking this one back.
