Very good BBQ
Only bought this 3 weeks ago and have used it nearly every day since. It is a great Size, unlike those huge stainless steel monsters that fill your patio. Awesome temperature control and ease of use make this very desirable. It does lack storage but makes up for it with manuverability.

BBQ not so good! :(
This BBQ burned a spot on the top, gets too hot & seems to over cooks food easily, The burner has developed a hole in it now & will require a repair after only 2 yrs of use. we regret getting this one over the Weber. Had a Weber before they are great! :(

Best BBQ ever used
We store it outside and use a cover with it. Don't have problems with the corrosion some have mentioned. Consistently cooks excellently well and of course I take the credit for all of this :)
Absolutely love it and keep it absolutely sparkling clean out of respect for such an awesome piece of kit!

Great BBQ, Crap stand
I think the person who engineered the stand was in no way connected to how anybody in the real world actually uses a portable BBQ. Wheels stick and is a complete pain to move around. However from a small BBQ perspective I would rate this a great purchase, gets hot enough when the lid is closed and the knobs to start and choose a temperature can get in the wrong position and takes some working out to fix
Otherwise steaks are great!

The best BBQ I have ever owned
I can't say enough good things about my BBQ, not only does it like great, it cooks meat to perfection! It is a great size also - not too big, not too small. Perfect for the weekend BBQ with family coming over. It is very easy to clean and easy to move around if needed.

BBQ Great, Stand is questionable
I have had this BBQ for over a year now, I have no had the massive stand issues that others have had. But lets just say its definitely no going to win any engineering awards. As long as you dont plan on moving the BBQ to often you shouldn't have to many problems. Definitely a great BBQ once you learn how to use it, basically need to cook everything on high to get a good sear.

Compact and easy to use
Very happy with our new BBQ. It's compact but is at the same time big enough for us to use (family of 4). The only issue we have with it is cleaning the plates afterwards. But other than this, we are very happy with our purchase. Will definitely recommend this for a small family.

Nothing short of wonderful.
I bought 3 of these a few years ago for a Holiday Park I ran and was so impressed by them when it came time to replace my own personal BBQ, there was only one choice.
It is compact but has enough height for stand up large chicken roasts, the controls are easy to work out and the finish quality is as good as the rest of the BeefEater range.
It is so easy to move around and/or put away. The removeable wing attachments make the whole thing so much easier to clean up, especially after a big, fatty and messy slow roast.

The High Cost Of High Prices?
Falling apart straight away... well to be totally honest, 6 days.
There is a black rubber gasket/seal that fits snugly around the edge of the hood this has fallen off and after 30+ minutes of trying to get it back on... I've given up.
Unless I decide to cut the gasket off myself and do without it permanently, this Beefeater Bugg is now unusable. Harvey Norman at Caringbah, NSW and/or Fair Trading NSW will be alerted about this tomorrow.
Also as someone else commented in their review, there are two tiny little black rubber pads on the low...Read more

Great ideas let down by some iffy execution
I’ve had mine for a few years now, and can report the following
Pros
- As a BBQ, yes, it’s excellent. Dual D burners are really handy, instead of one burner ala the Webers. These also offered the option to have a grill on one side and a hotplate on the other, which Weber have now implemented.
- In-built thermometer is absolutely necessary and I won’t buy another BBQ without one.
- The ability to cook with the lid slightly open (anywhere from fully open to fully closed), although more on this point later
- The side trays are REALLY solid....Read more

absolute rubbish wouldn't was your money
It's just over 12 months old it's undercover never been wet and only used once. The so called as rack on the bottom has rusted and the handle has blistered . I would understand if I was ocean front and it didn't have a cover on most of the time . It's very windy but that's about all . Contacted costumer service emailed them photos and got given the number to order my own that they don't cover rust . At the price of a webber would have thought they would have used better products that could handle being an outside appliance as webber do . So unless you live a mile away from any water and want to use it inside . I would stick to webber as I should have .

BBQ is good, stand is rubbish, customer service leaves a lot to be desired
The BBQ Beefeater BUGG is good and does what you would expect it to do. However, the device is let down by the quality of the stand and that of the Beefeater customer service.
We purchased both the BBQ and the stand in late 2014. During assembly of the stand we noticed one of the wheel attachments being a bit dodgy, but we thought we live with that as we do not move it around a lot. By mid 2016 significant rust had developed at the base chromed grid that holds the stand together. We raised this with Beefeater in November 2016. A month later...Read more

Grouse as
Recently purchased the Bugg and it was only supposed to be for occasional use when having a few extra people over, It"s ended up being the main BBQ. The 1/2 grill 1/2 hotplate is way better than the all grill on the old BBQ. With the dual burners and controls, and along with a bit more oomf, it's a much more versatile unit. The controls do take a little getting used to when turning it off but I highly recommend it.

We love it
We bought an ex display model from Masters to take on camping trips and now its on our patio permanently. Had it for about 12 months now. Ive read all the reviews and was a little hesitant to buy it. So glad we did. Weve done fish in foil with the lid closed, countless steaks and sausages and bacon n eggs. Ok so the temp takes a bit to master, but we've got it down pat. Cooks perfectly everytime.
Our only gripe is the fat tray. Its quite small, but that would not deter me from recommending it to others.
Finally after all this tim...Read more
e, we just purchased the trolley. Ive read reviews saying how hard it was to out together and sorry for those that had a hard time, but my hubby did it in next to no time. He just got out of hand surgery 5 days ago and put it together with a bandaged hand! No need to drill holes like others have said. Maybe we just got lucky. As my hubby is the bbq master of the family, i asked him his opinion of it overall. He said it was the best bbq he has owned. The temp is perfect and he loves the size of the plates. Plenty of room to feed a small tribe!1 comment

Great BBQ. Needs Improvement
The Bugg is a great little bbq.
Pros:
Plenty of heat compared to its major competitor. Comes half grill, half plate which is great. 2 seperate burners which allows me to only use half the bbq if need be, hence saving on gas. Very good ignition. Unusual with the controls at back of bbq, but got the hang of it. The bbq itself very solid and easy to clean.
Cons:
I found trolley easy to build compared to others experience however it is combersum to manoevre. Need to redesign trolley to move in sideways direction. Fat tray way too small, fills to quickly. A pain when wanting to remove fat tray. The plastic construct a little flimsy.
Overall probably the best bbq on the market, but needs some refinement particularly the trolley.

Just love it!
Very satisfied with the Bug - used it for the first time on Sunday night for dinner, cooked to perfection and just love it. Very easy to use and very easy to assemble, looks so good, I have no problem with safety, manoeuvrability and storage at all. best b b q I have ever had/owned. I would recommend it to everyone, I just love it. My partner was a bit sceptical, but just loves it and can't wait to cook the next meal, looking forward to it myself, I just love the way it cooked everything so well.... and we really enjoyed our meal. Good on the Bug!

Too many annoying features.
The handle (metal) gets hot when cooking witht the lid down, needing caution when grabbing.
Ridiculous lighting system that is opposite rotation left to right.
Little rubber stoppers to support the lid when closing fell off the first day and never to be seen again.
Didn't buy stand after reading other reviews.
Cooks well enough and with the two hotplates makes cleaning relatively easy to clean.
Got a beter deal than a Webber but may have been better off paying more!

Looks good but far from good
Trolley as with all the reviews is cheap rubbish which took way too long to assemble plus a breakage of some part.
Cooking quality - doesn't sear the meat well, the heat is just too low. It's a waste buying great quality meat when you just can't cook it well.
You can't use the cover without taking off the side trays. Completely. This really annoys me but if it cooked well, I probably wouldn't care so much.
Very disappointed. It is cheap and nasty!!!

Fox W.asked
How do you get the grease tray out on the Bugg? Surely you're not having to pull out the U bolt every time? Mine locks in tight so you have to be a contortionist to lever the tabs to release it?
2 answers
Yep, that’s what you have to do alright. Apply firm pressure and try not to bang your hand when it pops out. Putting the U bolt back is easier - just line it up and give it a whack.
Bugger that. I just loosened the screws off so the tray sits a bit lower and will slide out.
Bret Y.asked
I need to replace the ignition leads as they were damaged while transporting to storage. I’ve got the replacement leads just want to know how to replace them properly. What to remove and how to basically replace them without damaging anything. Thanks
