‘The Better Big Bank’ ? I think not!
After 40 years with one of the Big 4 banks we thought it was time to look at other options. All our lives we had been model customers of 2 of the major banks paying off 5 mortgages over the years. We fell for the Bendigo Banks advertising promise of a better experience, only to discover they were even worse! No customer skills at all, the Manager at the Cooroy Branch was aloof and rarely interested in returning calls. The process of dealing with all the staff was disjointed and tedious. A complete fail.

Zero stars is more appropriate
I was a customer with Bendigo for 15 years. I have recently discovered they've taken at minimum $400 in incorrect fees. The branch manager has final say, and has only offered $29 as a "goodwill gesture." She has refused to speak to me on the phone and instead had her frontline staff call me and relay her paltry decision.
I also required a bank statement for Centrelink, and I had to attend the branch Three times because their staff have no idea what they're doing, even though they assured me the transaction listing they gave me is good enough. ...Read more
And then I had to order a statement and had to wait for it to be processed by their head office. Every other bank allows you to do this on their banking app. Time to enter the 21st century, BBL. I called the call centre and was talked over by a rude rep named Sharon, and then she hung up on me and did not attempt to call me back. I was told on three occasions that I should not have incurred a monthly debit card fee, and by the last two people, have been told I should have been charged. I would never have signed up for the card had there been a fee. They have lied to me too many times, and they have become too cocky and are no longer the bank they once were. Do not trust these vultures with your money, they WILL steal it any way they can. They have a large elderly customer base, and I imagine they are charging fee upon fee to their accounts, too. Bendigo Bank are not to be trusted.

CYBER CRIME
Today Bendigo Bank Cyber Crime team, saved me from an attempted fraudulent transaction, I was informed within minutes of the attempt. They are on duty 24/7 Bravo Bendigo !. In fact my 17 years with a Bedigo has been a good experience
September 20th 2022 Update: Rural banking
Have been with Bendigo since 2003, never an issue, Bendigo still has branch's with people, helpful people, but the phone banking is 24/7 so I use that mostly. Bendigo has recovered my money from a fraud once, and recently stopped an online attempt in progress, their fraud team is there 24/7 wonderful people, and when my account was locked to protect it, they organised for me to get money when needed.

Ats are just going......going......gone
Looks like the Bendigo bank has big bank syndrome; how to rip off more customers and give less service.
Slowly all the Bendigo bank Atms are going out of shopping centers. Sure they have kept the ones at the banks, but trying to park near a bank!!!!!???? Most BIG BANKS have banks in shopping centers, and have atms everywhere. After being with the Bendigo for years.....I feel let down big time. I am looking for a decent smaller bank.

Huge wait time on phone, and loads of fees attached to accounts.
Sitting on hold for over 30 min, plus loads of fees on my accounts. There are other banks doing it better.
They also don't offer any reward scheme's for flying or anything else.

Ridiculous
I don't want to give this bank 1 star. This bank has taken out so much fees that it leaves me broke. There is not a strong enough word to describe the feeling of looking into your bank account and discovering the bank has taken fees for something. Not small fees either. I am so fed up with this bank and it's rude customer service. The face to face customer service has been extremely rude, not on one occasion either. Have changed since that ignorant experience and can say I am extremely happy with my new service and customer service. Also why can't the customer describe the ugly experience they have with banks.

Time for a change
After 40 years with this bank and the closure on Saturdays and closure of community branches its time for me to move to one of the big 4 in protest of the recent changes.

Bendigo probably the worst bank in Australia
I got scammed by a sophisticated scam artist on Gumtree and i was banking with UP (Owned by Bendigo) and so far i've had to deal with Bendigo bank for the case and no one at Bendigo has a clue what to do when something serious such as fraud happens. Branch knew nothing, case managers know nothing. No one can help me and it's all because i chose Australia's least competent bank. Stick with the big boys.

I’ve asked for regular statements to be sent one of whichI received.upon questioning the bank I was told the letters had been returned undelivered. The address was correct.

Staff and Manager incompetent
We went to the Bendigo bank Secret Harbour, WA, to get a business loan before the end of the financial year, and it turned out that the staff at the branch had no idea about the products they offered. Took 3 weeks with constant changes and laziness from them for us to walk away! Manager could not even read Tax paperwork from a general accountant and had to seek advice, they refused to give a time frame as apparently "no bank will tell you how long it takes to approve a loan, we all just have to hope its this side of Christmas". With urgent t...Read more
ime frames/signing, the branch staff decided to have days off without mentioning it to us, so we roll up, and oops no one can help. We double-checked (as it didn’t sound right) that they would give us 3.99% for a 2013 truck, yes they said. About the time we were expecting the funds they came back and said, actually no we can’t give you that rate and we have to start again. Well ok, we did that, then they came back A WEEK later to say that they won’t foot 100% of the truck costs because its over 5 years old… hm, nothing like telling us before its too late to get a loan anywhere else.Similar opinion? 25 years of good service
I have had an account with Bendigo bank for 25 years, I only opened an account to get a mortgage and I had 3 other accounts with major banks. closed them all down because they could not beat bendigo for service or fees or helping when I had a problem. when I walk into other banks and see the wait times. I laugh and if im charged an what I consider an unfair fee. I talk to them and 95% of the time they withdraw the fee. Could not be happier. a great bank :) :)

Best of the worst
Banks are always going to be annoying to deal with but Bendigo makes it barable. I’ve been with them for 4 years and they have never done me wrong. Customer service is always good. They seem such happy people for what I can only imagine is a rough job

Customer service First!
Have been Considering opening an Account with Bendigo Bank in Sheffield, have found the Branch Pleasant and Quick, but due to The Sheffield Branch being Closed on Mondays, we Drove over to Shearwater Branch, despite two Tellers I had to wait for 15 minutes. The Male Teller with the Dog behind the Desk Handled one Customer then passed on the next Customer to the Tall Female Teller stating that she would know how to help her. He took a Look at me and then Headed into the Nearby Office rather than Serving me, this meant a longer wait for me which ...Read more
was Disappointing. While waiting I Noticed the Sign Warning Customers That the Tellers had no Access to Cash, but if you Magnify the photo Provided you will see two Heaps of $100 & $50 Notes at the Desk Left by the Male Teller, there must have been about $ 10 - $20 Thousand dollars sitting there, There seems to be some Shoddy Practice taking place in a number of Ways.Similar opinion? Absolutely appalling service
Registered online to do a one of share trade which should have taken one day, in 4 weeks I have spoken to 7 different customer service operators who promise you the world are apologetic about the companies poor service, tell you they have put a priority on the trade, speak with their Managers and still nothing is done. From day one they do not acknowledge receipt of paperwork, do not communicate via email or phone and even when promises are made to personally follow through, nothing is communicated. Do not ever consider using this service!

"Community" Bank preys on its vulnerable clients
I've been banking with BB for almost 18 years. Six years ago my circumstances changed and I became a Pensioner Concession Card holder. Two years ago BB introduced a no fee concession account. During multiple, monthly in branch visits and various phone calls and despite receiving my pension payments directly into this account, BB never once informed me of this, more suitable, FREE product.
Once I became aware of the concession account I sort to have past fees removed through AFCA. Long story short - BB don't have to disclose their products, even...Read more

July 17th 2022 Update: complaints !!
With bendigo bank seems to be a waste of time in making a complaint . Firstly there seems to be conflict of interest with branch staff!! Don't respond in writing, either email or a letter. l hope lm not dealing with a corrupt organization. l suppose that would be of concern to me if that was the case.

reviews on irreponsbile lending
I have to say that after a phone call with Bendigo Bank this morning and speaking to a lovely lady it appears bendigo adelaide bank is looking at our concerns and trying their very best to come up with a resolution for our parents home to be released to enable their care to continue in aged care. From that phone call I am feeling confident that a resolution will be happening soon and I look forward to confirming the banks support and care in this matter

Irresponsible Lending and Financial Elder Abuse - Why does Bendigo Bank allow full pensioners to become guarantors .
How can a bank withhold deeds to an elderly couple's home that they require for Aged Care.
My father who went guarantor for a loan of $250k for a Company at the age of 79yrs and a full pensioner with small amount of savings and no other form of income. Bendigo Bank allowed the loan for 30yrs. This would make my dad 109yrs old when the loan was to be repayed.
Where was the Bank Managers concern that
A) a pensioner lending a Company a large amount at an age where they had stopped working and had no other form of income and no other form.of as...Read more
