Beyond Bank

After lodging a car loan through Beyond Bank, it is instant regrets. We were initially attracted to their low interest rate of 5.49% p.a (5.73% comparison), however, that is obviously all talk and no action - we had all of the documents ready from the dealership, deposit paid, and we knew to be in a good standing financially, hence why we booked the car in prior to getting finance. I came across Beyond Bank about 4 years ago when I was looking for an SMSF property loan. At the time they were one of the few banks that still offered SMSF products. The transaction went smoothly and I always dealt directly with a dedicated customer service officer.

A couple of years later when I was looking to refinance some other loans I went initially to some of the bigger banks. I did not get anywhere with them, they were just transacting and not attentive to my financial needs.

Been with this bank for many years. I thought that they were honest.
But.
Term deposits are now calculated by new math.
My term deposit of $200000 @ 2.8% for one year, was calculated by Beyond Bank to be $5599.99. I thought that the calculation should have been $5600.
But using new math, Beyond Bank work out your daily interest (divides it by 365) and then times it by 365. Because this method gives many decimal places, edit : 30 plus, (in the division calculation), Beyond Bank decides to use just 12 of them, edit : they "truncate" to 12 decim...Read more

I have been with Beyond Bank (formerly CPS) for 8 or 9 years. I am continually dismayed at the poor customer service I receive. In this calendar year alone I have been irritated or frustrated by their inefficiency or attitude 4 times.

Very disappointed with their car loan application process. Submitted all the paperwork for my application; was told the outcome was unservicable despite me having a healthy income, assets and liability profile and great credit history. Asked me to add my husband as a co-borrower which I obliged. In the end they still declined my application despite our combined high income and everything else. BB needs a complete overhaul of their culture, particularly when dealing with matters involving the accounts of recently deceased members and their families. I understand they can’t divulge information over the phone to family members, but to get cagey and secretive about general policy matters in a cold and callous manner does little to promote confidence in the ethics, empathy and morality of the bank. So they have their new TV advert saying they are all about the people - rubbish!
Their stupid attitude is more like "computer sys no....." and they have no logic or care factor.

I've been with them over 36 years and have all my insurances and loans with them the whole time.
I've never missed one payment and my total loans are a hell of alot (home, car and multiple investment loans).

My mum-in-law moved into an aged care nursing home, and these are very expensive, so along with the government fees, leaves very little left over cash from their pension to pay for medicines and everything else.
