Easy, convenient and friendly
Had a Kangaroo hit my Mercedes Benz. I submitted the claim online which was very easy, I then called Bingle and they asked me a few extra questions. I had to pay the excess on the spot which was fine. Within 2 days the car was towed away to the smash repairs shop. I then had my car back a week and a half later. I personally found Bingle super friendly and simple to use.

Terrible if you have to make a claim
After making a claim through Bingle there is no way I would recommend Bingle to anyone.
Firstly the excess is high, $795 for a rating 1 driver.
Secondly, if your car is a write-off they will short change you on the 'market value', their valuation process is a joke, there is no way you can replace your car at their 'market value'.
And finally in many cases even if the accident is not your fault you will not get your excess back unless there is another driver who accepts responsibility for the accident you don't get your excess back. So if your car is damaged in a car park, hail damage, or if the other driver flees the scene BAD LUCK.

Don't do it! It's not worth the $40 saving! Buy insurance from a company you can actually contact.
We got rear-ended by an uninsured driver. Starting the claim online was easy - great. The repair company in Brookvale was also organised and communicative - great. Infortunately the car had to be sent away for some more significant work and would be up to 14 days - not great. Since it was not our fault, I asked Bingle if we could get a hire car.... or at least I TRIED. There is noone to ask. no phone, no email, no Contact form. There is a live chat - CRAAAAP. It started off saying I was second in the queue and I'd be connected in 9 min...Read more
utes. 10 minutes later the advice changed to 14 minutes. After 60 minutes I'm now second in the queue and will be connected in 25 minutes. Save yourself the heartache and headach and go with the extra $40 to get a policy from someone you can reach. I buy insurance in the hope that nothing goes wrong but knowing it'll be alright if something does happen. This is far from alright. This is insurance without communication or service. Trust me, when you are without a car for 2 weeks, that $40 saving is very small comfort. EDIT - I finally got a phone number - 1300 735 640. You're welcome :-)1 comment

Cheap and claim is good
I am with Bingle for few years. I have insured 3 of my cars that included a new Land Cruiser Sahara. Other companies quoted me very expensive, but Bingle provided a reasonable quote. I also claimed twice windscreen broken and they serviced well. I'm wondering some people complaint about unable to contact etc. Bingle mentioned on their website that they are online-based insurance company so that they are selling insurance cheaper.
I claimed twice via online and they addressed quickly.
Pros:
1. Cheaper price
2. Reasonable service
Cons:
1. No OEM windscreen option to select during insure. Obrien glasses fixed both times using the aftermarket windscreen glasses.

Just don't
They are the hardest company in Australia to get hold of - bar none. Never before have I dealt with a company that leaves no contact details for you to get in touch with them.

Terrible company!
Bought a policy annually (12 months in advance) rather than direct debit but 12 months later I felt it was weird I hadn't received a renewal reminder. Find out I had been driving for 12 months and I tried to call or chat but these functions aren't available on their website. All I could find was FQA saying they "may" send a renewal. Be careful with this company, I would never get the cheap insurance again from these types of providers.

No form of contact and difficult
I didn't make any claims however they always gave me an error on the website that the insurance policy CANNOT be cancelled, they collected 2 months worth of payments. It took me multiple attempts for to finally cancel the policy. It was simply frustrating how I couldn't simply call somebody to cancel my policy. You pay for what you get, mediocre non-existent service.

Woolworths is better.
I have insurance with woolworths and bingle. We have made claims with both companies recently for not at fault accidents. Bingle is just a website. No chat, no email. Nothing. It's worth paying just a little more to woolworths or coles or whatever to have a person you can talk to. Bingle also have their own repair shops. That's why they are cheaper. Woolworths uses existing companies in the community and those companies will help you to get your car back into great shape. If bingle owns the repair shops then they will be as tight fisted as possible when working on your car. After the claim is completed on my ranger I will move that to woolworths or something similar.

Ok to buy and do changes when you are active policy holder but nightmare if you ex-policy holder
Bingle is good when you buy policy from them or if you are current policy holder but to communicate with them is a nightmare. Everything has to be on email but you won't find where is their contact email for other queries. And if you are ex-policy holder, forget about anything, you won't get any reply or any method to talk to them. Your policy is shut so you cannot go inside to get some required doc. All you can do is just see your policy number and it says "expired".
So, think before you buy as it is cheap but I still got cheaper price outside or always store your all documents beforehand if you are planning to switch.

Worse car insurance company - Terrible
Customer service - shocking, some staff even don't know what they are talking about. I was placed on hold for more than 1 hour as if they don't want to answer to the questions or avoid the call.
Shocking communication from insurance team
Unfairly treated after paying for 2 years of insurance
Bingle was very unreasonable and not helped at all.
May be cheap insurance, but not worth it as its not useful for you when you need it. Go for a quality product .
I don't recommend this car insurance to anyone in my life time.

Worst insurance company ever
They are crappiest company i have ever had insurance with. They didn’t repair my car from right side did just left side make an excuse that this is another accident. Never going to insure with again. Most insurance companies give loss of income or provide a replacement car but they didn’t provide anything.

Highly Recommended!!
Simple and easy claim processes and very affordable.. understandably there isn’t anyone to really talk to but the fact it’s all online makes them so competitive!
Would definitely recommend giving them a go.. I opted for the glass cover also and this has saved me $100s

Worst service. No communications. Avoid.
Absolutely awful service. Would never recommend them to anybody. I’ve been waiting for 2 weeks to hear back on the status of my claim. I’ve called and just get fobbed off.
With them for over 3 years. Hopeless service and they just never reply to you. Wish I never signed up with these guys and I recommend that nobody ever does.

Don't waste your money. Thay won't help you when you need it.
I have been with Bingle for several years. My car has brokedown and needs to be towed. After being on the phone for a long time, someone responded. I explained the situation, she put me on hold for another long time. Finally, they said that they can't help because I wasn't involved in an accident. So frustrating!

Slack and not helpful
By making a claim (no matter who was at fault) my premium automatically goes up. This was the warning on the web site and I should realised the process was not going to be easy.
At every turn it was upto me to chase up Bingle and later their repairer for updates. The repair bill was $5500 on a car I would be lucky to get $6000 for at sale. I was only told this when it was too late and the car was in repair. When I rang the assessor and asked for a write off he merely laughed. I rang bingle to discuss and was told there was a 20min wait and w...Read more
ould I like a call back. I agreed and have been waiting 7 days. I guess there must have been some delay. I guess you get what you pay for. We took a cheaper insurer and definately received cheap service.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
