I had my camera set up in my car and all was working fine (it's not hard wired in). I changed my car this week and when I set it up in the new car it no longer goes into parking mode when the engine is turned off. I know it's only in parking mode for 5 minutes but that gives me time to access the camera via the app and download or review any footage. As it's just shutting down straight away I would need the engine running so the app can connect but I'd then be using my mobile phone illegally. Please can you advise how I can change the settings so it goes into parking mode for a few minutes after the engine is turned off. Many thanks.
Hi dwe, Can you please confirm if you have the Power Magic Pro installed with your camera? The only way the camera can go into parking mode is when the camera detects no GPS or G sensor movement for 5 minutes and while power is still applied to the camera. It sounds like your last car had a constant 'ON' power source in the vehicle. Thank you,

No I definitely don't have the Power Magic pro in either vehicle.
So it sounds like your last vehicle had a constant on power source. I suggest just leaving your ignition 'ON' while you check your camera via WiFi.
I updated the firmware on the camera about a week ago and since then, the camera wil shut down randomly while I drive and then restart. This also happens when I'm parked but the car is still running, just before going into parking mode. The wifi is automatically on with this update (I had it set to manually turn off and on previously) and I was wondering if that has anything to do with it or if there is a glitch with the firmware since I had no issues before updating?

I double checked the website and it is the most up to date, V2.007, and the card is a Kingston 64 gb which is a class 10 if I'm not mistaken. I also clear the card regularly.
I've had the camera for a year now and it's great. I'm hoping it's a small quirk that can be easily fixed.

Sometimes when the SD card begins to fail, the camera will restart as the card can not keep up with the amount of data being written to it. I'd suggest trying a new SD card (preferably BlackVue) or try lowering the bit rate (quality) of the recordings.

Hi, I have just purchased the Blackvue DR650 and want to know how to turn off the voice recording?
Access it through the app or put the chip into your computer. You can do more via your computer.
My issue is the parking mode. It's useless!
You can also just touch the left side of the camera and it will say "voice recording off" and touch it again to turn it on. It may be good to leave it on bcs if there is an accident or damage, it may be able to capture the conversation with the other person since the quality is very good. I can even hear my signal ticking through mine if the radio isn't too loud.
guys i have a black vue 2 camera set up i can not get the small photo to show a picker before i play the video but in my mums car that is a single camera when i click on the small photo it shows a picture please help

My Balckvue (DR650GW-2CH with latest update installed V2.007) is not working no more.
It has power, yet once car is started, the blue light goes on and get stuck there, nothing happen afterwards, no orange light, no voice/sound or anything.
I tried
- pressing the right side bottom for 10 seconds noting happened, camera did not reboot
- formatted the SDRM, installed latest firmware V2.007 and re-installed nothing happen,
- used a different SDRM after formatting & latest version update installed yet nothing happened
- unplugged the power jack form Power Magic socket and installed in lighter socket (bypassing Power Magic) same rules, stock on blue light
- powered on your camera without the SD Card inserted, waited 10 seconds, insert the SD card and wait for the camera to initialize and start recording, nothing happened
Any ideas, please help

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your BlackVue. I see you have performed some troubleshooting already but have not had any luck.
Can you please try installing firmware version 1.011. If this does not work, please visit our website and send your camera back for inspection.

When im connecting my camera to the power cable only the gps blue light is on and there is no voice.
I have already tried to format the sd card and even replaced it. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear you are having issue with your DR650GW-2CH.
Please format your SD card in your PC and then power on your camera without the SD Card inserted.
After 10 seconds, insert the SD card and wait for the camera to initialise and start recording.

How do I turn the auto the "auto wifi on" off? I have tried but it is greyed out and will not allowed to do so.

Hi Brett,
Go into the Cloud settings and disable the cloud feature, then head back to the 'WiFi Auto On' and you should be able to disable it now.

Give it a try as it isnt hard. No tools and I had it all done in about 15 mins in my driveway, hidden wires and all. (I am not good at these things either but it took me longer to unpack it all.
I was in a pretty bad accident (not my fault) the other day. I reviewed the footage from my blackvue and it seems to have cut out just before impact. Could this be a corrupted file? Is there anything we can do to retrieve the full recording?
You could always take the SD card to a data recovery company - they normally specialise in hard drives but can do SD cards as well. DO NOT try to recover it yourself if you are going to use a recovery service, as you may accidentally wipe the data you want to save.
Hi I'm tossing between the power magic pro or the cellink b battery pack, can anyone tell me with a healthy car battery how many hours can it last till cut off by the powermagic pro?

It depends on the AH rating of your battery, most small 4-6 cylinder cars have lower AH ratings, so you get less "Parking Mode" compared to a 4WD or larger capacity engine with larger AH ratings.
You can always start with the Power Magic Pro first, if you find your battery can not sustain power to the camera long enough you can always upgrade to the CELLINK-B.

Hi! I bought a blackvue DR650GW-2CH and I`m looking for a installation center near my home. I`m living in Geneva Switzerland.
Another question : I cannot install the camera in the middle of the front window, because the mirror in going too low on the vw up. So how is it if the camera isn`t really in the middle of the window? Thanks.
I tried a few places before i decided on mine. get the camera and turn it on, hold in in the positions you are thinking about for a few seconds and then review the footage.
This way you can decide if you are satisfied with the view from wherever you try, I was going to use various spots but decided to go middle and low as the mirror in my car has a large box of things behind like many other new cars these days

Sorry my bad, was referring to the cloud services for which I believe I have to get a new wifi module installed in it. So I can remotely access the camera.

We can do this for you, free of charge. Just complete our RMA form located on our website http://www.autoblackbox.com.au/contact-us/downloads/ and send it back us with the Front camera, Rear camera and the SD card. The whole process takes about 7 business days.
Make sure you include a return satchel, so we can post your camera back to you, otherwise we can use TOLL overnight for $12.

I assume you have not disabled the GPS in the firmware settings? If not, then I'd be happy to take a look at your unit and get it sorted for you.

I'm thinking of purchasing the blackvue 2 channel but my rear door opens from the side.How would I mount the rear camera?

I'd suggest purchasing the optional extra 10m Coax Cable, just to make sure you have enough length for the install.

Hi all - just wondering if the Blackvue has a button or option for locking a recording NOT triggered by the accelerometer? E.g, if a crash happens in front of you and you want to make sure that file doesn't get recorded over?

Unfortunately it does not, but you do have the ability to connect your smartphone directly to the camera using the WiFi feature and saving any important video files.
