Sounds like the battery is at fault. I think it should still be under warranty, so check with the retailer.

Bosch Athlet scratching my wooden floors - it seems the rubber in the had is tearing away from the metal ban holding it in place, thus leaving me with an exposed piece of metal which is scratching my wooden floors. I use the vacuum a lot on carpets which they say we can do, so assume the rubber just can't deal with this. Has anyone else had the same issue? Assume I am going to have to buy a new head at vast expense so really not very happy!

I haven't had mine long enough to wear the rubber pad. They should be replaceable from Bosch. If they are, buy 2 or three. Good luck with your outcome.

The blue light sensor control whilst operating the vacuum cleaner turns to red. What does that mean? (25.2V)

I believe it means the dust collector needs emptying. Mine does it even when it’s not full so I turn the vacuum off then on again and away I go till it does it again.

I think it is got something to do with the dust collector when it is full. If the bag is empty and it still does it means the sensor control is at fault, you will need to contact Bosch customer service for details.

I found out it just means that the air filter needs cleaning. It is a warning light for this reason only.

Hi . I bought my unit nearly 4 years ago and had really looked after it. It had issues with buttons last year which was fixed by your rep. Now the battery just lasts 2-3 mins. I rang spare parts (1300#)and they told me to get new power unit for app. $60. No guarantee that it will fix the issue. She basically said to throw it out if that doesn't help. How is Bosch for life?? Please advise

I purchased the attachment pack at a cost of $100.00 from Harvey Norman a week after buying the Athlet. I have found that to attach the hoses I have to detach the base, this is very difficult as it does not come off easily. If my husband is not around there is no way I am strong enough to pull the head off the base Si I do not use the hose that often.

Hi, I have recently bought a new Bosch Athlet and noticed that when fully charged the lights go off but my old one stayed lit (the three charging bars). Are the newer versions designed to switch off when charged or is this a problem with machine? If it is supposed to happen, what was the reason for this change?

Thanks

My Bosch Athlet does a good job of picking up crumbs and small stones from the floor but when I switch it off they fall out of the cleaning head and drop onto the floor. My "solution" is to put the Athlete onto the turbo setting whilst I move it into its charging spot and to do the same in reverse when getting ready to use it again. This doesn't seem to be how it should operate. Does anyone else have this problem?

No Paul. Could there be a partial blockage somewhere that is stopping some of the dirt reaching the collection receptacle?

Yes it should click in place. It should be quite steady

As long as you get it leaning a little bit forward, the head actually holds it up quite well, but you have to make sure it is leaning forward, otherwise it will fall backwards.

My Bosch athlet cordless vacuum is brilliant. But the head is making a rattling noise. I have taken the brush out and cleaned it and if I turn it on without the brush the small metal rod that the brush fits over is making the rattling sound. Very annoying noise when it is in use. Any idea why? Otherwise love the vacuum.

3 answers
Derek10
Derek10

The metal rod you mention is part of the drive mechanism for the brush and you should never use the vac without the brush in place. If you do, as soon as you go to mode 2 or 3, the drive will spin like crazy as there is no brush to operate and the rod will spin off center against the housing. That's the noise you are hearing. The white plastic spline at the left hand end of the head locks in with the brush which must always be in place.

amanda
amanda

Cool, that Makes sense. But the noise that it makes is the same noise, with the brush in place. Which is how I isolated that as the issue. The noise occurred prior to taking the brush off it and testing it. Any thoughts on how it can be fixed? The noise is very annoying. I looks at a few other comments and there seem to be other people with the same noise that my vacuum is experiencing. thanks.

Melbourne

The rod holds the comb in place. The white cog is the drive mechanism. Both have nothing to do with the rattlling.
Mine also rattled so I called Bosch after sales support and they sent a new head out no charge.
