This has happened to me with two Bosch Athlet vacuum cleaners and the cause in both cases was the same, so looks like a design shortcoming.
The handle bottom plastic securing tab had broken off, as could be seen by the handle lower end slightly lifting away from the front housing.
This plastic tab had fallen inside the switch and stopped it from sliding to the Turbo position.

After removing the handle assembly from the main vacuum cleaner body, it requires a special Torx screwdriver bit with a hollow in the centre (T-20H) for the 3 handle retaining screws. The front handle cover still has 5 plastic tabs to release, 2 at the bottom, 2 either side of the switch and 1 at the very top, then it can be taken off.
It was not a particularly easy dismantling process! Then it is just a matter of removing the offending bit of broken plastic from inside the switch.
I put a self-tapping screw into the bottom end of the handle to compensate for the missing tab. Then clip and screw the handle assembly back together.

If the disassembly process appears rather daunting, you could try removing the handle assembly and giving it a serious shaking with the switch in the off position, to try and dislodge the bit of broken plastic from inside the switch.

You have to remove the hair from the brush. I took mine to a local repair shop. He said this hoover was no good for hair as it clogs up the brush. Also fluff from carpet blocks the tube behind and nothing goes into the can, had motor mended.. repair man said its common for motor to overheat. Awful

Hi Justin156,
Thanks for your question regarding your Bosch BCH6AT25AU Vacuum.
We'd recommend checking the space in-between the vacuum head and the dust canister, there's most likely a blockage there or in the head of the appliance.
If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744 to discuss.

Tony HIckeyasked

We have owned a BCH6AT25AU for three years and over the passed three weeks the vacuum turns off and on when in use. That is it runs for 15 to 20 seconds then stops running for about 20 seconds then starts running again. Makes a 20 minute job take about an hour. The battery indicator light shows fully charged. We have been told by the BOSCH help desk that the power supply battery charger needs to be replaced at a cost of $64.00. Does this mean the battery is not being charged to full capacity? If this is the case then the issue is a know fault, therefore the power supply battery charger should be replaced at no cost to the owner.

Looking forward to a response.

Regards
Tony.

Hi, have we purchased a new vacuum and was wondering if when the battery shows full should we take it off charge or just leave it charging?

Take it off charge. It should take about 3 hrs to go from fully flat to fully charged. After that unplug and put away ready for use. Leaving it in charge long term overheats the unit.

Hi, I bought this Bosch athlete vacuum cleaner 2 weeks ago. The suction is good but somehow, it does not start recharging straight away sometimes. I need to wait for, like 30minutes for the vaccum to start recharging. I’m wondering if this is faulty.
