Bosch Serie 8

Hi Bosch,
We are doing a kitchen renovation and want a double oven but in the series 8. It seems that you only have a series 6 double wall oven. Is it possible to buy two seperate series 8 ovens and have them installed tandem. Will this effect the oven above with the additonal heat rising or should they be installed side by side like in your brochures. ??
We are looking at purchasing the
Bosch CMG633BS1B Serie 8 Electric Wall Compact Oven with Microwave,
this oven will be installed above the Bosch HBG672BS1A 60cm Serie 8 Electric Built-In Pyrolytic Oven
Your advice would be appreciated.

How frequently does it need cleaning?

Good question. We find that depending on what we cook, of course, it needs cleaning about every three weeks. During that time use probably cook 2 roast chickens, one roast pork, and another roast (these are the most oven grease producing things). We also cook several breads etc. The great thing about this oven's pyrolytic program is that there are actually 3 cleaning programs of increasing time to choose from. We have so far not needed more that the first (least time) cleaning program. Great oven!

I haven't actually done the pyrolytic clean yet. My oven has the brown food sheen on the window and a few drips and spills on the base, but apart from that it looks pretty clean!

I am responding to this question as an update to the issue I had with the hinges.
Bosch did in fact refund the full amount paid for the oven. How they worked that out with Harvey Norman I do not know. They would not refund the money until the oven was picked up by their representatives and it was held in their warehouse in Melbourne. That took some time. The next problem was that Bosch only pay refunds on two days of the month. If you are unlucky like I was then you can wait for another 2 weeks after that. All in all it is a very long time to get the refund. The other curly twist is that although it is their contractors picking up the oven to return it to their warehouse they accept no responsibility for damage along the way. If its damaged it is your responsibility. This has been a very poor effort by Bosch.
Also, the contractors who picked up the oven commented that the reason the hinges were a problem is that Bosch recently changed the design of the hinges and downgraded them. You know the rest of the story.

Hi I've just bought a Bosch HBG6753.1a oven. This might sound ridiculous but I can't make the dial on the rotary selector go around. My husband and I both can't get it to work consistently. We've tried light pressure, medium pressure, hard pressure etc etc. my girlfriend can do it each and every time so I think it's not broken, just not responding to our fingers. Stupid question I know but are there any magic tricks? If I can't get it working it's a very expensive dud. Have other people experienced similar issues.

We have the most current model (HRG6767S2A) and after using the pyro clean for the first time (2 weeks after purchase) we now have no interior lights working! We contacted the good guys concierge and have had a call from Bosch telling us a repair man would call within 48hrs. It's now been 1.5 weeks and we still haven't heard from the technician (the good guys concierge has rang a couple of times chasing it up but each time they've said they will call the technician and get it sorted)! My question is, is the oven safe to still use? I'm so heartbroken that we spent just over $3000 for an oven that has something wrong already!

Have seen complaints of glass doors exploding or at least cracking when cleaning with pyrolytic. How can I buy with confidence?

Hi EJS,

Thanks for your question regarding the Bosch HBG672BS1A Oven.

Bosch appliances are engineered to very stringent quality standards. Each appliance endures rigorous quality testing, before it can leave the production factory.
We take pride in each and every appliance we manufacture. Unfortunately as with any manufactured appliance, it is impossible to prevent an isolated case of failure during the lifespan of the product.

We would recommend before completing the pyrolitic clean that you carefully read the instructions in the appliance user manual and ensure that you wipe down any food residue from the internal glass panel before starting the cleaning cycle.

Oh, that's really disappointing!! I recently bought one especially for its steam function as I thought it had full steam function. The name of the product is confusing, it should not be called a Steam Oven in the shop if it doesn't have a full steam function! In fact I'm not just disappointed, I'm really upset about this!

Bosch HRG6767S1A can you leave the guide rails and trays in when pyro cleaning?

1 answer
Bosch Home Appliances
BoschHomeAUBosch Home Appliances

Hi Harry,

Thanks for your question regarding your Bosch HRG6767S1A Oven.

For this model the guide rails can be left in during the pyro clean however due to the high heat over time they may tarnish, the only accessory that cannot be left in the oven during the pyro clean are the wire racks.

If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact our After Sales Support team on 1300 369 744 during business hours.
