Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances

Hi Tam,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch oven.
There can be a couple of reasons for this issue.
If the appliance was purchased as display stock the appliance may not have been reconnected properly before being provided to you. In this instance the retailer should be contacted to rectify the issue.
If the appliance was brand new, there may be an issue with the installation (contact your installer) or there may actually be a fault with the appliance (call us).
If you need to contact us please do so on 1300 369 744.

Also a question about preheating and the baking sensor. So does preheating preclude the use of the sensor?
Also when preheating do I need to add some minutes to the total baking time to factor in the time it takes to preheat?

1 answer
Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances

Hi Jean,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch oven.
If you want to preheat the oven and open the door whilst "Baking sensor active" is shown on the display the settings will be cancelled. In this case, the appliance will provide you with a setting that you must monitor yourself.
If you do, you would reduce the time as the timings have been tested to be used from a cold oven.

Bosch Serie 8

I have a series 8 Bosch oven and according to the manual - for using perfect bake function - instructions are place cake in oven select menu - assist - categories - touch required dish (ie cake/bread) press start and the cooking time counts down and the oven starts to heat up [note the sensor can only be started when the oven is cool) This makes no sense to me I always preheat oven for bread and cakes. Am I missing something here!

The Sensor wont work in a hot oven so basically you cant use this function at all

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances

Hi Archer,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch oven.
That setting is intended for the dish to be in the appliance when it is first turned on. If you wish to pre-heat, feel free but it shouldn't be necessary. Extensive testing has been done for Autopilot or the auto functions(depending on model) to allow this to be possible.

Is it true (according to one a review above) that you can't see a timer that is set for cooking duration alarm, only how long the oven has on for? Is it possible to change the display settings to show a cooking timer while cooking or at all for that matter on this model?

So if you set the oven to cook for say 40 mins - it displays the count down from 40 mins down to 0 and the finish alarm/beeps to let you know times up.

ligedyletch

Ok, Thanks for answering. Could you please tell me if it has a timer/alarm feature in general you can run at the same time? For example if you are cooking two things which need to come out at different times - I.e. can you set an alarm for say 30mins while the cooking counts down from 40mins?

Serie 8 HRG6767

I dont use the steam injector function because the oven collects a huge amount of steam anyway which when roasting hits you in the face when you open the door. If there are lots of vegetables they end up with a couple of cm of liquid in the tray and I have to pour out and grill to crisp up. The pumpkin is mushy and not caramelised. While the oven is very good for keeping food moist it is frustratingly hard to crisp things such as pizza or roast veges especially when cooking a big load Is there a way to expel the moisture when cooking? Or a specific setting?

Hi Dee, thanks for your question regarding your HRG6767S2A Built in Oven/w added steam.
One thing you can do is change the steam level on your appliance. In order to do this touch the "Steam level" text
field. The steam level is highlighted, and can be changed using the rotary selector. The change is
adopted immediately. If you want to cancel steam assistance, reset the "Added steam" to "0".
Please refer to your user manual for the best heating setting for specific items such as pizza and vegetables.

Hi. I've solved this! We had a similar problem, just over the 2-year guarantee period. While trawling the interweb I found that you can remove the rotary stainless steel wheel just by getting your fingernails under it and flicking it out. I carefully washed the wheel and used cotton buds to clean inside the housing. Popped it back in and it works like a dream now, and we've saved £99.00 on a call-out charge from Bosch. Result!
